Aptly named crime !

Scandinavian Crime, very aptly named, akin to a mysterious crime committed on a dark, cloudy or snowy day in Scandinavian country side hooks you from the opening. It has an intoxicating boozy ginger in the opening that makes the wearer's nose subconsciously follow the notes just as children followed the pied Piper of Hamelin. The ginger remains there with the oud for a long time giving it a rather dark yet pleasant tone. The drydown is heavenly incense. The only thing that comes to my mid: Dark and seductive with almost a criminal nature.

Eau de Mahagoni ~ Wood

At first, I perceive an intense, fresh, sweet citrus note that also brings along sparkling, bright woody elements, thanks to the 'ginger and the 'white pepper that I suspect.

At the same time, these two notes are underscored by a delicate aromatic 'nutmeg spice and subtly creamy 'cardamom nuances, giving the top note a pleasantly soft smoothness.

A little later, Scandinavian Crime Extrait de Parfum reveals a very heavy, deeply warming, engagingly dense, slightly resinous leathery sweet, freshly lacquered and still gently moist reddish-brown mahogany wood; its scent bouquet makes me identify 'oud as a fragrance component, which is marbled with sweet earthy 'patchouli tones and almost imperceptibly used light creamy enveloping 'sandalwood splinters.

In the last 5 hours, a balsamic spicy resinous 'labdanum tone remains, which appears very profound due to the slightly smoky harsh 'black musk, interwoven with dry, delicately silky light 'frankincense threads, completed by a lovely creamy ('Bourbon-) vanilla hint.

'Corriander and 'amber fragrance components were unfortunately denied by my paleocortex :-)

Overall, the scent lasts 9.5 hours on my skin.

The sillage is designed for 4 hours at a very noticeably perceivable whole arm's length before it gradually diminishes to the scent's conclusion.

Jo Nesbo please clarify!!!!

When I first heard about this fragrance a few weeks ago, I thought of a cool scent from the chilly Scandinavia...cool, pure...rough...fresh...but I am served exactly the opposite here.
Warm, spicy, oriental, opulent...but for me, it's all a bit too much; I just can't handle such scents anymore, perhaps also because the fragrance comes to me 5 months too late. In the cold winter, it would have suited much better with its opulence and cinnamon notes. For me, it's another spice bazaar, with a rather slightly sweet undertone. The oud is mild and sweet...but unfortunately, I don't like the floral-herbal bouquet on top at all...it feels a bit foreign to me. I also smell a slightly alcoholic note, but not a flattering cognac or whiskey, rather the gin bottle from the supermarket checkout.
All of this wouldn't be so bad; it just doesn't match my fragrance preferences, but I keep smelling an ammonia note, piercingly sharp and very unpleasant...this note comes and goes, comes back and goes again, and eventually, I can no longer smell it. Maybe the Catsan has been replaced in the meantime;-)! The longer the fragrance is on my skin, the sweeter it becomes...I suspect due to patchouli and amber...the vanilla can't be entirely innocent either...but the sharpness in the background remains:-(
The longevity is well chosen, not exaggerated - not too subtle, it lasts quite well for 6-7 hours...for an extrait, however, it's rather in the lower third...even with these fragrance notes that promised longer endurance. More would probably have been too much. This fragrance is too much for me in every respect; it annoys me, it occupies my mind constantly...it simply tires me out. Here, only Jo Nesbo can help to clarify this (fragrance) crime...
However, I still find the bottle with the Soviet stars very cool!
