déjà vu
For a long time, I have been searching for a fragrance that includes ginger. Inspired by the comments from Hexana and Seerose, I ordered a fragrance sample from L`Erbolario.
Unfortunately, due to the strike, the package arrived very late. Curiously, I tore open the fragrance sample,
started sniffing, and got to smell Casmir by Chopard.
Ginger is definitely noticeable, and vanilla as well. However, the entire blend of top, heart, and base notes smelled to
me exactly like Casmir. I can't say more about this fragrance. I've never recognized such a similarity between two scents. Although I like Casmir, I first need to recover from the shock.

Straightforward Spice Duel
Since I have recently developed a liking for vanilla fragrances, it was clear that I would have to check out Vaniglia e Zenzero during my Erbolario exploration. Of course, I first familiarized myself with the theoretical background by studying Seerose's comment. Her description was interesting and positive, so I was excited when I found the little bottle in the perfumery.

The first impression after spraying is as if you have just sliced or grated fresh ginger, just as Seerose describes. An intense lemony and ginger-spicy top note spreads, which is soon replaced by vanilla. I do not perceive any sharpness, however.

On the paper strip, the zesty lemony start lasts longer than on my skin. There, after the fresh ginger note fades, a somewhat musty smell emerges (patchouli?). Once this phase is over, the scent gets straight to the point without much fuss and remains very straightforward with the ingredients that its name promises. The vanilla does not present itself with sweetness; it remains bitter yet warm. This intriguing scent does not drift into the cozy territory as the fragrance develops further. Ginger and vanilla engage in an exciting duel, with no clear winner. Sometimes vanilla dominates, but it is immediately grounded again by the ginger.

In this ambivalent perception, the bipolar scent remains consistent for many hours without change.

Thanks to the good price, Vaniglia e Zenzero has found its way into my collection. I am sure I will not develop a romantic love for it, but rather a collegial and reliable friendship that supports me on those days when I am at odds with myself and the world. Then this straightforward and uncomplicated scent could be just the grounding I need.

Ginger Cologne
Ginger (Zenzero, it.) is one of the few spices considered warming in Southeast Asian cuisine, and is thus used in food, as tea, and for medicinal purposes. Despite its spiciness, ginger is very stomach-friendly and even soothing. It can be added to food without hesitation and in abundance.
So far, however, I have not encountered a convincing fragrance that has what I consider an authentic ginger scent.
"Vaniglia e Zenzero" is a cologne with a true ginger scent.
"Vaniglia e Zenzero" starts with a distinct vanilla accent and something indefinably sharp. I must somewhat resignedly note that it is again not an authentic ginger scent, as a citrusy bright cologne note overlays it.
But then the ginger unfolds almost as sharply as if it were freshly grated. And just like with the typical slightly earthy accent of ginger roots.
Citrus and vanilla initially pull back completely. The sillage seems strong to me precisely because it smells so distinctly of ginger.
I like "Vaniglia e Zenzero." It can also be worn in summer because it smells so sharp and fresh, as after a while a delicate citrus note joins in. The very light earthy note in "Vaniglia e Zenzero" is kept from becoming dull and dusty by the citrus, as can happen with ginger powder, or from smelling as bland as ginger ale.
This sharp fresh ginger scent with a hint of citrus is retained for a long time in "Vaniglia e Zenzero." Then a very fine unsweetened vanilla nuance appears as a pleasant addition. The fragrance also develops a slightly woody note. There might also be a bit of patchouli in it.
The longevity is good. An interesting fragrance.

Easy to love combo of ginger, citrus and soft sweetness. A blast of positive energy in warm days mornings. I wish it lasted longer.

You're sharp.
Come closer, spice. Hot vanilla king.
Your contrasts - so I can feel them,
hard-soft, warm-cold.
Ginger delight.

Ginger candies, summer vanilla, fluffy lemon clouds. The scent is warm and soft yet still fresh. Sparkling garden party.

I immediately thought of the yellow Nimm2 candy and then a ginger-lemon soda. One of the few citrus scents that I really like.

A pleasantly unusual start for a vanilla scent with lemon and ginger.

I really like this scent. A fresh citrusy/woody vanilla. However, even when applied generously, it's only faintly noticeable to others.

Ginger-lemon dish soap at first, I feel a bit nauseous - the nice vanilla cream afterwards can't save it. Too soapy for my stomach.

Great for hot days. Lemon and ginger, sharp and fresh, vanilla just hinted at, no trace of patchouli. 0.0 resemblance to Casmir!

Ginger-vanilla clouds.
Smells very citrusy, combined with the vanilla it becomes beautifully creamy.
Great combo.
I don't smell any patchouli.

Warm, cozy, ginger-vanilla. I love the dry down; the opening is very powerful with the ginger.
