Cheap but good
I took the fragrance in a Rossmann for a handful of euros.
Why? No idea. Do I have it ready? Nope.

For whatever reason, I see the scent on suits. It smells slightly soapy, a little fresh, slightly sweet, and not so dense to the nose.
This is easy a fragrance that you can always wear. No matter what the occasion. The fragrance is just there.
In short:
The scent doesn't bother anyone, no one thanks you for wearing it, everyone accepts it and is glad you don't stink, no one asks about it.
Sounds weird, but that's just the way it is.
Would be perfect so as a starter fragrance for someone. Must now but also not necessarily haha.

LOOSELY UNDERESTIMATED
Smells almost like the original, that is Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male, but only more vanilla. Costs only 6 Euro!! Simply ingenious. As everyday perfume or gift for young guys really super. The perfume doesn't smell cheap at all and I've already received many compliments for it. Would also easily pay 60 euros for the perfume.

CONCLUSION: Always happy to

It is forbidden to give the skotes the ... to knot
Of course, it is absolutely unimaginable that a company like "La Rive" (= "the shore"; doesn't mean "La Rieve" or "La Rife"), which is at least halfway or quarterway serious, should market a perfume in a bottle that is reminiscent of a Scottish whisky bottle and is labelled "Scottish" without a "T". Like "Adidass" or "Deutsh". The floor would open under someone who would do such an embarrassing thing. One must therefore assume that "La Rive" serves the educated middle classes here and that this scent is based on the active Gaelic people of the Scots, who - sometimes difficult to distinguish from the Picts - settled Britain north of the Hadrian's and Antonin's walls. A very clever idea, worthy of such a - somewhat elitist - niche fragrance.

I can't really say bad things about the fragrance itself; the ingredients are absolutely plausible: It combines a citric-mingy freshness "above" with a nice cosy ambry-vanilla-woody warmth, wrapped in a plaid and to be enjoyed with turkey butter shortbreads below, tied together in the middle, no, not by the silver thistle as Scotland's national flower, pardon, Scotias, but by lavender.

Not surprisingly, all this doesn't come across as insanely rich, deep and valuable, but rather a bit flat and with a synthetic touch, not particularly strong and durable either, but nevertheless: embarrassing cheap fusel is not "Scotish", but a thoroughly acceptable warm, woody-spicy men's fragrance. The vanilla-sugar sweetness keeps within reasonable limits, even for adults, and I do not know whether this is a dupe of Le Male, because I do not know Le Male. I really don't.

Uncomplicated
My ex-husband loves Scotland and never tires of travelling to the country. Years ago, I bought this fragrance for him, its name being the only inspiration for my purchase. At the price of 7 Euros/100 ml, my expectations weren't high, but when he applied "Scottish Man" I was pleasantly surprised. It is slightly reminiscent of "Gaultier Homme", although I wouldn't call it a simple dupe. "Scotish Man" is a down-to-earth fragrance, a smooth affair of lavender, cedarwood and musk/amber. Not what I'd call an iconic male perfume, but worth a try, and above all, it fits in with my ex-husband's idea of "smelling uncomplicated" and "wasting less money on expensive niche or designer fragrances which don't deliver". He is delighted with it.
(Well, in retrospect, I'm glad I didn't waste more money on fragrances I bought for him. )
