La Rive is often praised here for good dupes. (For) Woman has caught my eye several times. The boxes are always spread out wastefully on the Bipa shelves. The packaging suggests more of an understated quality than cheap goods. And anyway, I'm not a perfume snob. So let’s give it a go! On the test strip, it already smelled wonderfully fresh.

But oops... What is this? On my skin, I first smell a diffuse synthetic freshness. Somehow not as pleasant as expected. Is that supposed to be allspice and freesia? Aha, well if you say so... Do you know that feeling when cheap room fragrances smell somewhat fresh-floral? But not like a specific flower, just kind of floral in general. That would be the top note here.

Next up is Lacoste pour Femme. This one thrives on the fresh-showered-and-lotioned scent. However, that was already a good hour ago and it’s way too warm again. Just before you start to sweat. The Lacoste has a strong human touch. But it doesn’t smell sweaty, rather like warm, well-cared-for skin.

La Rive Woman smells just like that, only with quite a bit of chemistry going on in the background, which makes the scent appear rather musty and dull despite the clean freshness. That really bothers me here. A clean scent, a skin scent with such a strange chemical note in the background. This smell makes me quite uneasy. It reminds me of fake perfumes that you get thrown at you in certain tourist centers at street markets. I used to sniff those occasionally. They usually had an underlying scent of soap, alcohol, or just smelled chemical. In other words: La Rive Woman smells to me like I imagine a fake Lacoste pour Femme would smell.

So, despite the 35% (is it even worth it for such a cheap scent??) it didn’t get packed.

I would definitely recommend anyone looking for an affordable alternative to Lacoste to test this dupe first. Maybe you’ll have better luck and won’t smell the chemistry as much.

I sprayed a bit on the back of my hand. I smelled the scent for about 3 hours. There was no base. The whole thing somehow fell apart and after those 3 hours, there was just a soapy hint left on my skin. The sillage was also rather weak. However, the scent is sold in 100ml buckets anyway. So you can spray more generously. But for me, Woman is not an option.

Cheap junk??? No! I love the...
I don't like La Rive fragrances. They all smell artificial, synthetic, cheap....
There is only one exception... WOMAN

I can't help it, but to me it smells fruity. Especially after the spicy top note has faded a bit. Is it the trio of fruity, rose, and jasmine that blows me away?
Or the entire combination with incense, allspice, and woods?
Right after applying, you can briefly smell an alcoholic note. After that, I immediately smell allspice and incense. Balsamic, spicy, soapy. Not at all intrusive, but very pleasant.
In that moment, I can already feel a smile spreading across my face. Yes, it is (my) magic scent, one that makes me happy and content.

At certain moments, it reminds me of Peony & Blush Suede Cologne - rose with leather.... but only for 30 minutes. Then it becomes darker, smokier, woodier.
To me, it smells neither cheap nor synthetic, but like good cosmetics. Very well-groomed and not stuffy at all.
The base lasts a long time, but I love to spray it on again and again; I always carry the 30 ml bottle with me to bring a smile to my face throughout the day.

I am a bit sad that this fragrance scores so poorly with some people. To me, it is a little treasure.

Gray Mouse or Hot Catch?
A lot has already been said about this fragrance. Personally, I've been oscillating between perfumeries and drugstores for a long time, wandering through Müller, sniffing, spraying, comparing, always with a question to myself - Lacoste or La Rive? The discovery was Lacoste; I became aware of it through the TV commercial back then, where a young woman gracefully strolls past a beautifully set table to lovely music. And everything in white.

I tried the fragrance, but back then I found it too expensive with my few coins. And then I moved on; many others came along, and the advertising was no longer shown. Years went by. And two years ago, I was browsing through the perfume shelves at Kaufland. They have a lot in their assortment for a quick pick-me-up. And you can take your time looking and trying. One bottle reminded me of something. The scent too! It can't be, can it? Confused, I left the store.

For Woman lasted quite a long time, enough to indulge in memories. I compared it again with Pour Femme. Some are unlucky, but I am lucky - the scent progression is exactly identical in both! I haven't experienced that with any other dupe! And still, I didn't buy it for a long time. Why?

Because it's actually not my fragrance direction. It may sound strange now, but it's true. This scent reminds me incredibly of loose powder from my grandma; she always had a small box in front of her mirror for ages. It must have been decades old, and as a child, I loved sticking my nose in it. It smelled, well, powdery. And softly floral, somehow familiar. Just like grandma.

But - but on the walls in grandma's apartment hung pictures of a beautiful young woman - the best in the dance school, the ball queen, a cheeky mermaid in a super stylish swimsuit by the lake back then. That was my grandma! She was also a very good nurse, worked for years in the hospital, and many letters with lovely words of thanks are in her nightstand. In her job, she was helpful, courteous, and invisible when necessary.

So what is it then - gray mouse or hot catch? Well, somehow both. And that's how La Rive for Woman smells to me - softly creamy, powdery, clean-well-groomed, with a hint of rose. Subtle, yet noticeable. And actually not my fragrance direction. Just a little nostalgia experience. When I felt like it, something was sprayed on my wrist while shopping, and that was enough.

Until yesterday at Rossmann. After the usual round for cleaning supplies, I turned to the perfume shelf and lo and behold - a gift set of La Rive for Woman, deodorant and EdP for the super special price of 5 euros. And I just took it with me. Maybe I'm also ready now to really wear it. After all, it's my favorite saying - "Good things take time."

Now it's probably my turn for the guests to think while they are served their coffee - well, this gray mouse must be a real hot catch. But I'm just fine if a certain someone would think that. That was enough for grandma too!

I've never experienced anything like this
...that I wear just one single fragrance continuously for an entire week. I even do it several times a day, because this cloud of comfort is addictive. I know the reference on others, but not on my skin, so I can't say in detail how closely they resemble each other. However, if someone were to walk past me wearing Larives Woman, I would think it was "pour femme by Lacoste," which I could never see on myself but liked on others. Since I was already at Dm and "Moon flower" turned out to be a disappointment for my nose, I wanted to take something as a consolation along with "lovely peony." Since "give me love by Larive" completely thrilled me, I tested more fragrances from this brand, found this one lovely, and took it with me without much thought. Since testing it at home, I haven't been able to let go of it. I even wore it to bed that night and I even think it was the first fragrance that contributed to an even better sleep for me. It doesn't last very long and is quite close to the body, but even if I somewhat shower in it because I can't get enough of it, it doesn't bother anyone. Interestingly, my boyfriend even associates it with shower gel; he thinks I smell like I've just showered. For me, it's an absolute comfort scent. When it rises to my nose, everything inside me feels deeply relaxed, no matter what mood I was in beforehand. It's a quiet love, but all the more beautiful. I can never get enough of this subtle vanilla note that resonates in the fragrance for me; I could wrap myself in it from head to toe and sleep in it. It is my personal cuddle cloud, no matter where I am. I don't want to be without this fragrance anymore and I urgently need a refill soon, as it is almost empty. I just have to learn to let other fragrances in again ;)

The Turtle against the...
...Crocodile
I took advantage of the promotional week at the discount store. For the price, it’s worth giving it a chance.

The first time I smelled this fragrance was at a family gathering with a friend. She was complimented on how great her scent was. She joked about how inexpensive it was. Now, years later, I remember that moment.

I find it similar to the scent with the crocodile, but this one is very one-dimensional. The bottle has the same design, but it feels cheap compared to the original. The longevity is quite decent.

My bottle sits on my desk at work, and I apply two sprays when I need a refresh during the day. I think it works for any occasion and is always appropriate. It serves its purpose. If this bottle runs out, I will probably replace it with the original. But not because I'm dissatisfied, rather because the original is now available at a very reasonable price.

My conclusion: Yes, it’s good. :-)

Unobtrusive, quite nice, fresh-floral. Average: You're okay. Average that shows how cheaply something like this can be produced.

Smells exactly like the Lacoste fragrance to me! I'm really surprised: A great, soft, fresh everyday scent for an extremely low price!

Starts with a lot of alcohol, then artificial freshness. Floral-soapy + freshly creamed, unfortunately with dull chemicals. Hardly any incense. Cheap + Not4Me.

The best compliment for wearing this fragrance comes from my kids: "Mom, you smell so good." What more could you want? A feel-good scent.

Avoid the alcohol cloud! Then you get a REALLY pretty Lacoste look-alike, soft powdery-floral, elegantly feminine. Perfect for everyday/work at a bargain price.

Very feminine, delicate scent. Sweet, floral, maternal. Always works. In my opinion, better than the original "Pour Femme" (Lacoste), as it's even softer.

"Skin, but better" scent. None of the notes stand out to me. It's like just having applied lotion. The sillage is very close to the skin.
