Ultra-realistic sunscreen in fragrance form
This is the most realistic sunscreen fragrance I have ever smelled. It even dries down the same as sunscreen does. A bit sharper and creamy-floral from the bottle, warmer and smoother after it was rubbed on the skin.
Solare doesn't resemble a coconutty sunscreen à la Hawaiian Tropic, it's closer to a classic European suntan milk with orange blossom as the main scent. Apparently this is a dupe of the Nivea Sun fragrance, but to be honest I haven't tried that one and I don't recall Nivea Sun products ever being a staple in my family. Nor have I ever bought them myself as an adult. There are definitely other sunscreens that smell similar to this, too.
It's a very creamy, but fresh white floral and vanilla scent with a hint of coconut in the drydown. I find it kind of hard to single out the notes, because the blend as a whole is so familiar. It just smells like a bottle of sunblocker.

Too funny that I ignored this for a while because the name and the yellow & white packaging made me think this was a Jil Sander Sun dupe. It has nothing to do with Sun at all. Maybe more people got confused and that's why it disappeared from most stores so quickly? It's a great, nostalgic scent and costs next to nothing, it should be popular.
It also lasts extremely well on me, every time I tried it in the evening I could still clearly smell it the whole morning.

I bought a bottle of this in autumn last year and waited patiently to wear it in summer. Even though it smells perfectly fine in colder temperatures, I wanted the full experience of having this summery scent around me when it's warm. Today the day had finally come. It's so lovely, it makes me feel clean and calm and happy.

Emilia Romagna
I grew up in a foster family, and when I was nine years old, my foster dad passed away. That broke my heart and the hearts of the rest of my family, tearing down the sandy fairy tale castle of my childhood to its very foundations. Yet sometimes it is strange; for often, bad memories are the sea that can wash us onto the islands of the happiest moments we have preserved in our hearts despite everything - to which we have merely lost the compass.

This perfume here is a little compass, this scent of sunscreen, coconuts, and creamy flowers that instantly transports me back to my happiest childhood memories.

Every year during the summer holidays, we traveled to Italy. That was our family vacation, where we always traveled with the whole family. Emilia St. Romagna, Catholic, emerald green sea, thick macaroni swimming in creamy tomato sauce, never-ending summer nights with the children of Italian workers. The hotel, with its white linen curtains, the
sun-drenched beige staircase, and the countless green potted plants under the fairy-tale arches (I got lost in that staircase countless times as a child..)

This perfume conjures up memories of a happy day at the beach, where I, as a little girl in my Snoopy swimsuit, sat by the sea with a hazelnut ice cream while my mom slathered sunscreen on my skin in centimeter-thick layers. Again and again, a cheerful laughing man would come by and say to her, "Coco Di Mama! Coco Di Mama!" He had strapped a colorful striped box around his waist and sold various things; toys, Italian food, waffles, even coconuts.

Every day I was impatient, every day I waited until the scent of sunscreen had evaporated to the bare minimum so that I could finally sink into the waves like "Ariel the Little Mermaid," along with my father, who watched over me and my dog paddle like a human King Triton. And built fairy tale castles out of sand with me.

That is the beauty of the sand of time.

You think this fairy tale castle made of sand has been blown away by the wind and will never reappear, because the person who built it with you is gone. You cannot bring it back.

But the sand is still there.

And when the first pain has passed, it is your choice to embrace it and create a monument to those wonderful memories.

And THAT shines forever.

Bam!…and it's Mid-Summer
By chance (thank you dear LucyLu), I came across this fragrance. Normally, I don't have La Rive on my radar. But this scent…..
You spray it on and….. bam!….you find yourself right in the middle of a swimming pool. It's mid-summer, and the children running around are licking orange water ice and creamy vanilla ice cream. The lady next to you is applying irresistibly scented coconut sunscreen. The couple on the other side is sipping Aperol spritzers with ice cubes and a slice of lemon. The sun is blazing down, the last water droplets from the chlorinated water, in which you just refreshed yourself, evaporate on your skin. Every now and then, a delicate floral scent drifts over from the gardenias and jasmine bushes. Soon, you'll need to reapply sunscreen to avoid getting sunburned, as the sun is shining so fiercely. You're lying on your towel, closing your eyes, hearing the laughter of the children, catching the scent of cola, Fanta, and ice cream…..ah, if only it could always be like this….
Bam! ……after three hours….any beautiful illusion has vanished. But wait, that doesn't matter….I just lift my hand back to the bottle and press the spray button:….. Bam!

Summer Sun Holiday Feeling
I no longer understand the world of fragrances!
How can an 8.- fragrance manage to authentically imitate a sunscreen, while many other big manufacturers fail?!
So beautifully creamy, fresh, with a wonderfully pleasant not too sweet coconut accord.
Together with the orange blossom and floral accents, it creates an authentically beautiful sunscreen aura that is unmatched.
Close your eyes and you feel like you've just applied sunscreen on the beach under the shining sun.

Today, I played it safe and bought up the entire stock at our Müller (there were only 3 bottles left), you never know how long this gem will be available in this form ;).

So, I’m closing my eyes again in the office and enjoying the aura :D

The Irony...
...I finally found a sunscreen that provides reliable protection, feels pleasant, and is unscented. And what do I miss in the summer? The smell of sunscreen! This perfume comes just at the right time. It smells exactly like the sunscreens from my childhood and instantly puts me in a vacation mood.

And for the price, I can easily overlook the fact that you first have to get through a rather alcoholic note that quickly fades, that the bottle won't win any design awards, and that it lasts at most half a day. For a few euros, I can easily reapply or switch to another scent in the evening anyway.

To be honest, I was also curious about the Nivea Sun scent for the same reason, but honestly, I don't see any reason to test it now. This little bottle of summer does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

If you like Nivea Sun (sunscreen scents), you'll also enjoy this affordable dupe: white floral, sweet vanilla, creamy musk, heliotrope powdery.

Summer in the 90s: public pool, heat, sunscreen, tanned teenage girls with Walkmans reading magazines. It was beautiful.

Sunscreen in a bottle. I can't really pick out the individual notes. It's a great mood-lifting scent that you can't miss in summer.

A bit of coconut, white flowers, vanillin sugar. Plus the chemical mix. Results in a typical sunscreen scent. I don't need this as a perfume.
