Where has my popcorn gone?
I think I like this better than the original Idôle and Idôle Aura, but it still can't hold a candle to the gorgeous Idôle Intense.

The popcorn note in the opening is recognizable and nicely blended with the fresher rose and soft vanilla. I was a bit wary if Idôle's clean floral DNA would maybe clash with such a strong, warm gourmand note, but it works.
Unfortunately the popcorn doesn't last forever and the drydown doesn't get as caramel-like as I hoped it would. After a while the rose turns a bit jammier and a white floral creaminess emerges. The base is very similar to the original Idôle, but a tad sweeter and more vanillic. If you love Idôle it might be just the twist you need, if you want something more gourmand with lots of caramel and popcorn it might be disappointing. I find it pretty, but it doesn't blow my mind.

Temper your expectations
Was gifted a small bottle by a friend of mine. The bottle itself is so pretty! The warm pink corners and the orange fluid reminds me a bit of the lesbian flag :)

Unfortunately this isn't gourmand in the slightest :(( I do not get the caramel top notes, nor the vanilla base notes. For me this is almost entirely a very fresh, rosy floral. I do get the popcorn notes on the drydown, though it's less of a warm, buttery movie theater popcorn and more a plain popcorn. It's almost giving "clean" smelling to me - not like, kitchen cleaning solution clean, but like, getting out of the shower type of clean. It's certainly not a typical combination, but not an unwelcome one. Very pleasant. Just not for me. If you're looking for something more gourmand, look elsewhere.

Wanted to love it
This fragrance had been on my wishlist for so long that I literally had a dream about it. Which I know sounds ridiculous. So it pains me to say that I did not like it as much as I thought I would.

I disregarded the reviews and thought I would have a different experience with the scent, but unfortunately the Rose note is truly so overpowering that you can barely smell anything else. It’s like a very syrupy rose. Not quite as gourmand as I expected. I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it enough to continue using it either. Lasting power is very long as I could still smell it the next day and on whatever it touched.

lesbians this ones for us I think
I've been on the hunt for my Christmas Perfume (aka the full bottle fragrance I'm gifted every Christmas) and the main requirements have been 1.) lesbian flag colors in the bottle and 2.) girly smell 3.) mass appeal bc I work in an office and also 4.) I actually like it. This one fit the bill! It's so silly, just a silly idea for a perfume. Not the bottle, obviously, but the notes. Popcorn? Roses? Vanilla? Sure, why not.

After testing it at Ulta, I was waiting for the letdown, but luckily it never came. I really like it! It's sweet and salty and rosy. Like if a perfume was a glitter-obsessed high femme lesbian... so me, I guess.

gourmand, floral or fresh?
I don't know why, but the normal Idole has NEVER stuck in my mind - no matter how often I tested it. However, the word Nectar made me sit up and take notice, because I am a victim of opulence! The scent smells a bit heavily composed, as if the notes were not given enough time to unfold. At first, it smells deliciously zesty (sweet mandarin?), then it transitions into a very intense combination of rose and veeeery sweet caramel, which adds a bit more depth to the fragrance. On my skin, the scent becomes beautifully vanillic at the end, and you can detect a tiny hint of popcorn. I would have wished for the popcorn note to be a bit smokier, like in La Belle by JPG. The rose gives the fragrance a touch of lipstick/vintage cosmetics without becoming outdated!

I believe the scent is deliberately aimed at somewhat younger women (who basically grew up with the face of the advertising campaign). The fragrance does not come across as very mature. Those who like Rose Gourmand by Zara or Si would probably also warm up to this one.

There's something harsh about this that I can't identify, but certainly do not like.

I don't get popcorn or gourmand from this, just smells like rose with a touch of syrup. I'm not big on rose so it's not for me.

I get no caramel or popcorn. Smells like rose soap. It's a pretty rose though. Very fresh and clean. Not for me.

Tens across the board for this one, so beautiful. I quite like the whole Idôle range. Affordable but not cheap, and terrific for lasting.

Dear Lancôme, fyi:
Popcorn smells toasty and grainy.
Caramel smells sweet-savory.
Rose smells dewy-soft.
With you: just Barbie's shampoo.

The rose is devoured by the sweet-sticky fruit monster within ten minutes. No trace of popcorn. Just another one like thousands...

It's sweet. Incredibly sweet. Plastic rose and shampoo notes. "Neo-gourmand" is written on the sample. True, it's all been done before.

The Idôle sugar rose is tamed by caramel vanilla. A family resemblance is noticeable. The popcorn could have popped a bit longer.
