Two Idols
After being very taken with the Armani Idole, I tried the Idole intense by Lancome.

Do you need 2 Idoles?

I think so - as both fragrances differ quite a bit from each other.
And to say it upfront - both are beautiful in their own way.

The Armani Idole is a bit sweeter and more contoured - while being somewhat "tougher".
The Lancome Idole comes across softer and a bit "blurred" - which I don't find negative.
It has an attractively diffused softness.
A touch of romance peeks through.
The chypre note provides a casual elegance.

Both fragrances are also well-suited for everyday wear, as neither of them is "overdone".

If I return to the image of the Idoles, the Armani Idole is Angelina Jolie in her daring role as Lara Croft - the Lancome Idole is Holly Hunter as the piano-playing protagonist in mystical New Zealand.

Both fragrances are very feminine, but Armani emphasizes adventure - Lancome emphasizes emotional depth.
Depending on the mood, both fragrances are good companions and not overdressed.

Idole intense will end up on my wish list.
P.S. It has moved in with me.

Love in a Bottle
You are and will always be my first great love.
Never before has a perfume enchanted me as much as this one. You are everything a woman in her 20s wishes for. You are very sexy, you are a bit playful, but you are mature enough to be taken seriously. You are sweet, floral, fresh, and well-groomed. You are perfect for any occasion - whether in the office, in summer, in winter, in the evening or during the day, simply the perfect all-rounder. You bravely endured every night in the disco with me, you have given me some compliments, and I believe you have ensured that my partner always looks at me with extra-loving eyes when I wear you.

Thanks to your above-average sillage! I have been approached so many times because of you. By men, by women, by my friends, by colleagues, and even by my parents. And the feedback was fantastic every time.

I don’t need to say much about the longevity - as I said: You endured every visit to the disco with me, and every afternoon afterwards I could still perceive you. You don’t leave my side.

Thanks to your uniquely elegant bottle, I can take you with me in even the smallest bag. You are my faithful companion on all paths, and if one day you should run out, I will buy you again, and again - and agaaaaain!

You have my heart - and my boyfriend's too! :)

New Love?
First of all - I don't know the classic Idole, so I can't make a comparison to its predecessor.
Due to several recommendations and the researched fragrance pyramid, I was totally hooked, and since the scent is available in 25 ml, I jumped at a good online offer - which makes it somewhat bearable if I don't like it.
With the package in hand, it had to be tested immediately. A small, flat bottle emerged that fits easily in any handbag.... in the perfume cabinet next to the other bottles, it doesn't quite know where it belongs.
I carefully sprayed two spritzes on my wrist, and a lightly fruity, floral, not too sweet note greeted me. A beautiful rose joins in, which doesn't come across as old-fashioned at all, but rather light and pleasantly understated. Wow, this could be something special for us! And yes, in the drydown, it actually becomes slightly creamy and soft, which is probably due to the cashmere and vanilla in the base.
I can easily imagine this scent on a bride; I, for one, am totally in love!

try it first
don't get me wrong, the scent is by no means bad. A bit typical Lancome, but my very first thought was:

UFF. It subtly overwhelms you.
too "perfume" for me

The scent definitely comes across as very ... feminine? But maturely feminine, very aware of its femininity. A bit sour and at the same time very sweet, it could become someone's absolute favorite, but I just thought "this definitely doesn't suit me."

Bridal Bouquet with Lots of Roses
When I got married 3 years ago, it was filled with sunflowers and red roses. Perfect for a late summer wedding. My bridal perfume was Kenzo Amour. Very fitting.
If I had married in spring or high summer, Idole L'intense would have been my choice. It smells to me of roses, freshness, and playfulness. Very beautiful actually. And in front of me, the pink bridal bouquet automatically flashes, carried by a bride with flowers in her hair. Those who love floral scents will surely find this one to their liking!

"Idôle" is just a bit more intense...
nothing that would touch my heart now ;)
Just a musk-patchouli-rose...
nothing more!

Balm for the soul - a safe cocoon for the day.

The refined Idole flanker is really topping it for me. I can't get enough of this floral woody composition! It develops beautifully.

The more elegant, slightly less demure version of "Idôle". Still similar. A sugar rose explosion with vanilla sprinkles. Unfortunately, too rosy for me.

Pear compote takes the lead, the rose desperately tries to get applause. Monstrous longevity. Patchouli adds seriousness!

Where Idôle smells like bright sunlight, Intense moves in the romantic evening light. What a lovely, powdery musk rose!

Sweet roses and jasmine blossoms with juicy mandarin. I don't find the chypre accord. It could be fresher for me.

I expected it to be overly sweet, but the Intense feels more mature & sophisticated. Floral sweetness and woods, yes, it’s all there, but balanced.

The first flask was flat, but this flask makes the first one seem even flatter. Deep floral notes. Beautiful!

Tested! I don't like the regular Idole at all - this one is great. Feminine, clean, somehow elegant. Different from what I usually like. Awesome!
