Even without scandal, very good
Oh, no...how lovely... When I started wearing the fragrance, I constantly caught myself wondering in the first few days what smelled so good. Since fruity scents are not really my thing and therefore hardly part of my collection, "Scandal" has so far not fallen victim to the tedious fate of being hardly noticeable on me after a short time.
Every fragrance has a prominent characteristic for me, so to speak a main theme that can be described in a few words, and "Scandal" is for me the fresh, cool-fruity rose. By cool, I don't mean aloof, but more like a cool, refreshing breeze that brings the scent of just-bloomed roses along with it, and there is probably nothing to add to the fruits in the top note.
"Scandal" reminds me a bit of "Amethyste" by Lalique, only that it lacks the bitterness and the rose is softer. The top note consists for me of a very harmonious melange, where no fruit stands out, although I clearly perceive the apricot, but the rose is present from the start. And even though "Scandal" is not necessarily a fresh laundry scent, this fragrance is one of the few that gives me that freshly washed feeling all day long - just without any association with laundry detergent or soap. The musk is just my thing, very soft, without scratchy undertones - and probably too tame for some, but I really like it.
Unfortunately, I don't know the original, but I am very satisfied with the reissue. I got 50 ml of "Scandal" as Eau de Toilette (I believe there isn't an Eau de Parfum yet, is there?) for just €22 on special offer. The longevity is totally fine for an Eau de Toilette - I spray in the morning and touch up once at noon, and I'm set for the whole (work)day. The sillage is...hm...normal? "Scandal" is a rather subtle scent, and for me, it is totally within range.
For my nose, this is once again a very nice feel-good fragrance from Lanvin, with which you can't go wrong. The only question for me is who came up with that ridiculous name...I can't find it...the scandal...
