Smoke Bomb
It's best to spray it generously, then it really works.
A first small spray had disappointed me, as I only smelled a slightly sour leather. Now the fragrance could truly unfold. It is really very smoky and coconuty, with a slight sweet warmth. So the smoke clearly dominates at first, but my nose can handle it here.
The bottle is well chosen and fits the content. The blue "stones" represent the cool freshness of the fragrance, while Khalid is brutal and the wearer essentially has a strong scent armor on.
I will report my further impressions in the coming days...

The Tar of the Road on Suede - Applied Really Thick
If Khalid by Lattafa is anything, it is not: subtle.
The scent doesn't enter the room - it kicks the door down, wears suede that hasn't seen daylight in years, and generously spreads birch tar on everything that doesn't resist.

The opening is a real olfactory slap.
Smoky. Tar-like. Woody. And above all, very loud.
I smell leather, juniper, birch, and most of all: birch tar.
Not as an accent, but as a full service.
No campfire romance vibe, but rather: "I soaked my birch tar vest in an asphalt pot last night and threw it on this morning."

Khalid does not smell cheap or artificial - I’ll give him that.
The leather actually smells surprisingly realistic - but not like an Italian bespoke saddle or an English leather glove, rather like an oiled motorcycle jacket that has kissed the asphalt at 180 km/h.

After about 30 minutes, the performance calms down a bit. But that doesn't mean it becomes quiet.
Perhaps the other ingredients from the pyramid are now mixing in. But for me, this aggressive leather-tar-wood scent remains more than present in my nose.

I can understand that this scent polarizes - and is certainly a discovery for fans of rustic leather notes. But for me personally, it's too much road, too little salon.

My conclusion:
For anyone who has ever wondered what it smells like when a road worker with a passion for motorcycles undresses in a juniper grove - voilà.
Khalid delivers.
Honest. Rough. Unvarnished.
But for me: too much of a good thing.

Unfortunately, it's only a 2 out of 10 for me.
He gets an extra respect point for the skillful execution - but we two will not become friends.

A Statement in Leather and Smoke
Khalid by Lattafa is not a fragrance that you simply apply casually.
It is a statement - loud, spicy, and oriental down to the last note.
Anyone who chooses this scent does not want to enter a room; they want to take it over.

The opening is characterized by a powerful leather note, supported by oud, saffron, and a resinous undertone. It became clear during the first application that I should not overspray this fragrance like others. The sillage was about as enveloping as the heavy metal bottle is protective.

In the heart, a melancholic aroma of birch and patchouli unfolds, adding earthy depth to your scent trail.

The base remains true to the leathery theme and, together with the oud, offers this slightly animalistic nuance that makes this fragrance an absolute beast.

Khalid is definitely not a scent for everyone - and it doesn’t want to be.
Because anyone who wears it must be aware of its impact and the attributes that this fragrance brings: majestic, heavy, confident.

Especially in the cold season or in the evening hours, this is definitely an extraordinary perfume that I personally even prefer over the inspiration Falcon Leather - and for around €45, it’s an absolute no-brainer for anyone who can appreciate this scent DNA.

Ledrige Birkenteer Ohrfeige von Khalid
Here he is, Khalid.
Without much talking, he hits you directly and without warning with his leather glove right on the head!
So powerful that you immediately fall over and don’t get back on your feet quickly. Since Khalid is quite aggressive, he’s not done yet… He leans down to you and smears a load of birch tar on your face.
There you lie now... Beaten by leather - smeared with birch tar under a prickly juniper, wondering how this could possibly happen.

The scent starts off very woody for me with the birch and the prickly juniper - just without any earthy notes. Still, it immediately reminds me of the forest. But more like an open, large cemetery forest.
After 10 minutes, the labdanum comes into play to make the whole thing a bit smoother.
Birch tar times 10!
As it develops, it becomes softer - which is good because the start is already very angular!
After about 30 minutes, the scent begins to evolve in the way I had hoped.
A very slightly sweet, resinous birch tar on a leather bed.

Khalid crashes in with smoky birch tar, rugged leather and saffron before softening to dark resinous sweetness. Rough and unapologetic.

Whats that song by Sade? Sweetest Tar-boo? A pouch of dry elephant hide holding a mix of resin, burnt tar and sugar. Obnoxiously good.

A robust, spirited leather scent, not overpowering but with noticeable power. The combination of juniper & saffron reminds me of birch tar.

Initially very smoky - and leathery, and later on slightly sweet.
Inspired by Falcon Leather with great P/L ratio. H/S top.

Not leather lingerie again, he thought, as he approached the high-class escort. Why couldn't she wear fine nylon today?
