I can already see this one catching unfair criticism & inaccurate descriptions from the wave of folks hating on “hyped” fragrances that begin their life on social media & promoted by content creators. Please do not listen to them, this is non-weird Niche in Middle Eastern clothing. A little dark but not heavy, just enough florals to lift it from being too dense, complex enough to stoke curiosity in the best way possible and that new trademarked “Cocoa-Pulse” note? Not a gimmick! It’s very real and it’s awesome. Think 60% dark chocolate cocoa butter but not in an overpowering body-lotion or gourmand way. It just chills out quietly in the background, rounding off any sharp edges.

Some of the reviews here don’t accurately reflect what this fragrance actually delivers.nnI own Musamam Black and wore it consistently for a full week, from Christmas 2025 through to New Year’s Eve, so this is based on proper wear rather than a quick first spray.nnThe opening is smoky, resinous, and almost tar-like, with a touch of spice resting on a citrusy bergamot. It’s undeniably challenging at first, and I can understand why some people might be put off if they judge it too quickly.nnHowever, the evolution from opening to dry-down is where Musamam Black really stands out and becomes genuinely unique.nnWithin minutes, soft florals begin to emerge, smoothing out the resinous edge, while cedarwood introduces a subtle woodiness. At this stage, it may seem as though it’s settling into a spicy–floral–woody profile.nnThat assumption doesn’t last long.nnGradually, those florals begin to disappear and at the same time a creamy chocolate accord starts to develop, becoming more and more prominent over the next 45–60 minutes as the harsher resinous elements fade into the background.nnAs the dry-down continues, tonka bean makes an appears and adds a gentle sweetness, while patchouli keeps everything grounded and leaning distinctly masculine. By this point, the creamy chocolate is clearly the star of the composition. I personally don’t detect any maple, but I’m not familiar with how maple presents in fragrance, and it could well be there contributing to the sweetness.nnI’ve genuinely not encountered another fragrance that evolves so drastically from start to finish, nor one that delivers this level of creamy chocolate richness while still maintaining a masculine character.nnThis is a strong, rich and indulgent fragrance, and overspraying can make the dry-down a little nauseating due to how rich and dense that chocolatey creaminess becomes. So, restraint is definitely advised.nnIn terms of performance, it performs reasonably well on skin. Applied to my wrist while wearing a short-sleeved top, I get around four hours until it’s a faint skin scent. On fabric, however, performance is noticeably better - lasting for days on clothing and weirdly projecting more strongly as well. nnFor me, the perfect scenario for this is date nights or winter evening wear. It’s rich, indulgent, creamy, almost gourmand — yet still unmistakably masculine and, quite frankly, unique.

Synthetic Bomb

I can't understand the hype at all
This is the first fragrance by Jordi that doesn't excite me in the slightest.

It smells like Lattafa Liam mixed with plastic and lavender. I really have zero understanding for the reviews. Fortunately, taste is something we can debate.

At the beginning, you get this Liam / Gris Charnel chemical note, which I personally dislike. This mixes with extreme synthetics, like a really cheap piece of plastic where the softener has already come out, and is topped off with a citrusy lavender note. Unfortunately, I can't find anything appealing about this scent. Longevity is okay, but not outstanding. After half an hour, you mainly smell lavender, a little bit of patchouli, and very faintly something that reminds you of coconut cream. Unfortunately, this indefinable synthetic note persists.

Better than the reviews describe

I ordered it based on all the positive videos on YouTube. Afterwards, I checked the reviews here on Parfumo; the rating itself is really good, but the reviews suggest something different. I was quite torn about whether I should order it, but I don't regret it. The bottle is really well made and pleasantly heavy, especially for this price. Many people say it is very dark and resinous and more suitable for over 35. I absolutely cannot confirm that; I don't find it particularly dark. It definitely has that typical designer shower gel freshness. It smells resinous but not negatively resinous. I would describe it as resinous, woody with an initial shower gel freshness. It definitely lasts a long time on me.

Dark Spicy Cream Noir

…this is how I would best describe Musamam Black Intense in just a few words.
The black, heavy glass bottle with the sinister snake immediately stands out positively. Somehow, you automatically expect something wicked and forbidden at first glance, and you actually get an extraordinary scent that clearly has dark, but also sensual and soft character traits.
Powdery lavender and dark wood dominate the synthetic medley.
I perceive shower gel and barbershop vibes, without them feeling fresh. In the drydown, Musamam Black Intense is sweetened a bit by tonka, but overall it remains quite linear with a good longevity of 8 hours. The sillage is strong at first but decreases continuously after 3 hours.
What remains is a close-to-skin spicy-powdery lavender foliage.

At the end of the day, it’s not a blind buy candidate, but certainly the most mass-appealing from the Musamam line.
Due to its extraordinary, oriental-shower gel-like scent profile, I can imagine it will find some fans (mostly 30+). Although it is actually marketed as a men’s fragrance, the lavender-powderiness could certainly appeal to women as well.

Unfortunately, many Lattafa and similar fragrances tend to cause headaches due to their predominantly synthetic ingredients. Musamam Black Intense also has the dense synthetic presence again, even though it overall presents a decent, pleasing overall picture.
Anyone looking for a soft, spicy, oriental-tinged, shower gel-like everyday scent might find an interesting candidate in Musamam Black Intense.
