Energising Citrus-Woody
The sparkling top-notes give me an initial boost and offer a real pick-me-up. Not what I expected - but good! This is no average fruity-floral, Loewe still has the power to surprise with quality fragrances. The spirit-lifting notes in "Aire Sensual" are not working alone. After a while, richer musky and woody notes (cedar, vetiver) kick in. They add character to the fragrance and confidence to the wearer. Not a sweet fragrance - the colour of the liquid is misleading. "Aire Sensual" ticks the citrus-woody box. Softly energising.

A Summer Breeze
There are better and more expensive scents in my collection, and yet, those are not the only criteria. What is attractive about this particular perfume? Hard to pinpoint at first sniff ... the fresh strong cloud can be overwhelming and strident but, and here is the but, this is only a short moment and the perfume dries down beautifully. There are fruity notes and even candy notes. Good to wear and feel comfortable in. Especially in the Summer heat.

Well, I got it as a gift on a vacation stay on the Mediterranean island Majorca but all pleasant Summer associations aside, it is a good "go to" scent, one large spray under your clothes and then it lasts warm and long.

The next day, there are the lingering notes of cedar wood, very pleasant and lasting ... and only a full shower can finally wash off the quality remnants of a good perfume.

Loewe makes leather goods, there is a faint leather note although not listed.

In short, not world history making, but worth acquiring.

more being than appearance
Pink.

Little girls - ballet skirts - Barbie - Piglet - wood anemones - strawberry ice cream - David Hamilton's "Bilitis" - candied fruits - cashmere twinsets at the golf club - baby powder - young girl perfume.

All these images arise before my mind's eye as soon as my gaze falls on a pink bottle.
It was no different with "Aire Sensual".
And not a single one of these associations bears even a remote resemblance to the scent that is enveloped - or rather: disguised - by this softly shimmering bottle.

Yet, looking at the pyramid seems to confirm the impression that this is yet another fruity-floral concoction - a few fruits at the top and delicate flowers at the heart, with a few grounding fixatives in the base.
Young, cheerful, uncomplicated and - forgive me - a bit bland.
I thought.

And the first thing I smell - cedar.
Dry, herbaceous, and slightly smoky, its scent rises to my nose even before I can move my sprayed wrist in that direction.
Amazed, I approach the source of the fragrance - and here, in close proximity to my skin, a bright, cheerful, and very authentic bouquet of freshly cut, crisp green apple, a hint of mandarin, and freesia unfolds, evoking thoughts of a morning in early summer and momentarily making me forget the October outside my window.
I think I catch a whiff of rose, even though it is not listed, a light, young rose, dew-damp and barely out of bud stage.
But soon the cedar joins in on my skin, friendly and supportive, conveying a maturity that clearly defines "Aire Sensual" as a "I am not a girl!" scent.
Adult, self-assured, and sensual, yet friendly, uncomplicated, and free of all pretensions.

A few hours later, all the fruity and floral notes have faded on my skin.
Now the woodiness of the cedar dominates, gaining warmth primarily through amber.
Resinous and smoky notes mix in and lead me back to autumn.
I fall more in love with this base hour by hour - and at this stage, I can easily imagine "Aire Sensual" on a man as well.

Heinrich the Lion
I struggled a bit with whether I should write something about this fragrance, because when it comes to the scent description, I believe Palonera's comment below "hits the nail right on the (wooden) head," which is why I can only refer to it here.

But I can contribute a little from the category "History and Stories," for those who enjoy it.

What drew me to this fragrance was the sound of the name, so I had to inquire and was told the story of the company.
The brand is pronounced beautifully in Spanish (each syllable separately), but the founder was Heinrich Loewe (pronounced like the lion) from Germany, who renamed himself Enrique Loewe (Lo-e-we) after moving to Spain.
When he, along with his Spanish partners, founded a new leather (and later luxury) company from their shared leather workshop in Madrid, the three chose the exotic name of the German as their brand.
However, to make it pronounceable for anyone, it was sensibly Hispanicized, no, what is it called, hispanized.

Aire Sensual can be translated, in a not entirely literal but rather meaningful way, as "Sensual Aura."

It seems to be a variation of the Spanish classic "Aire" (according to the saleswoman, the first "fresh scent" from Spain), even though I have not yet been able to detect the relationship.
(EDIT: However, parallel tests have now revealed a connection in the base. Original Aire is not fresh, but slightly powdery; I would have guessed Chypre without knowledge of the pyramid.)

For me, it is the fragrance with three faces:

First "Aire." In the first 20 minutes, it always sings Lucilectric to me ("I'm so glad that I'm a girl, that I'm a lit-tle girl"). Often I have fun with the feather-light air number, but sometimes I also internally shout "Aire, Aire" and first open the window.

Then comes "Sensual" directly, and it stays the whole time, sensuality with meaning included. "Mature, self-confident, and sensual, yet friendly, uncomplicated, and free from all pretensions," yes, exactly.

And in the end, Heinrich-Enrique always drops by. He sits down with me and tells me something from his leather workshop with the pleasantly scented wooden furniture and the tools used there, from burnishing tools and stamping tools to crescent knives.
And he exchanges thoughts with me about life as a German in Spain.
He is very pleasant company for me.

P.S. I would still find the scent on a man bold, but, even though I am not free from it myself: the classification of fragrances into male and female seems to me ultimately an unnecessarily restrictive social conditioning, which is why I hereby explicitly support any attempt to break this conditioning in this forum and in general.

cheerful romance
Today I discovered an oval, nostalgically designed bottle filled with a delicate pink liquid.
Oh, this promised something dreamy - romantic for me.

But the fresh opening of crisp apples and juicy mandarin playfully nudges my nose.

Then it becomes romantic with blooming freesia, bright jasmine, and lovely lily of the valley.
But it is a cheerful romance.
Vetiver and cedar add depth and character - yet still lead to a happy ending.

A light - but not frivolous fragrance that positively envelops and captivates - with a touch of nostalgia.

This Loewe purrs friendly and comfortably on my lap.

Friendly, bright, fruity scent, the Ur-Aire is recognizable, but this one is sweeter & not as fresh. Very "pink".
