A rose waiting to be picked
L'eau à la Rose is a thing of beauty, but also delicate and almost ethereal. She's a pixy fairy: feminine and playful. The fragrance is the embodiment of this idea: fresh, fruity, floral but also fleeting, as it disappears from my skin in under 4 hours.
I get a nice, fresh and floral rose. It ain't carnal or heavy or cloying, it smells like a rose that still hasn't been picked from its bush. I get a subtle note of lychee: sweet, pink and fruity. Peony also acts as support to the rose note and helps it linger a little longer. As it dries down, it becomes more a musky, warm rose scent. It still stays very feminine, but it becomes a little less light and a little bit more warm.
I'm not a rose girly, but this is a very nice introduction to roses. For those who want something light and not cloying, this is a good choice. I won't be buying a full bottle as the performance is bad on my skin, but I do have to say I enjoyed sniffing it while it lasted on myself.
