Autumn time
I wasn't looking for him. It was probably a rather chance encounter with this beautiful fragrance in the last weeks of 2019. And - a very successful surprise. The elegant sounding name and the puristic stylish appearance of the flacon attracted my attention and aroused my curiosity.
And indeed ... far beyond the expectations, which were also somewhat clichéd in my head, a fabulously courageous overture unfolded.
Sage - warm and austere, also bitter notes of wormwood and camomile characterize the beginning and remain dominant until the end of the fragrance.
Pigment increases the powerful but gentle sharpness. The somewhat imperious, intensive prelude now glides very calmly into fresh resinous pine forests. What a smooth change.
All components are cleverly and extremely harmoniously interwoven. Despite the intense presence of the various spices, all the
Characters to a harmonious picture. Soothing, earthy patchouli soothes gently in the background. Even the tobacco that gives the game its name remains surprisingly pleasantly quiet and plays a beautiful but important secondary role. So... so charmingly one can "democratize" tobacco notes.
Despite the intense density, all the atmospheric moments indicated are preserved. This is what distinguishes Feuilles de Tabac. An elegant, tart scent with class. Very successful. Pleasant in its withdrawn charisma.
With lots of natural white, iridescent shades of grey, warm and cold red, black wood. Warming wool, tweed and linen. Wide cuts. Little jewelry. In any case, sturdy, solid shoes for extensive hiking through autumnal forests.

Passive smoker
"Feuilles de Tabac" is a very round and pleasing tobacco spice that fits perfectly into old men's caves with globes, whiskey and dusty books. But it is also suitable for an ancient spice market due to the heavy allspice impact and also a little bit in a wet and humid deciduous forest in autumn full of orange and brown tones.

It often seems like a thicker, heavier version of "Tabarome". But the more of Wumms is so soft and mannered that you would never call him smothering. Even at over 30 degrees. That doesn't mean that it is made for summer and such temperatures, but it just looks outstandingly balsamic, unobtrusive and pleasant. Almost a trace of... beautiful and normal. Edgeless - also unrivalled in its drawer? Not really. But one of the top candidates in the tobacco game. A fully (and rightly) satisfied men's fragrance for scholars, scribblers and relaxed philosophers.

Flacon: somehow these "drawings" always bother me at Miller Harris, here unsuitable flowers...
Sillage: subtly creamy and smoky
Shelf life: in target - 6-8 hours

Conclusion: a very warm-hearted, intelligent tobacco scent - cuddly, soft, stylish to the max - for the men's and reading room!

Classy tobacco
Modern kids don't smoke. They vape. So called e-liquids flavored like Cherry Coke, Blueberry Muffin or Vanilla Yoghurt. Perfumery follows a similar trend of bubblegum sweetness. And sadly, even today's tobacco scent are nothing but vape flavors: Vanilla fruity infusions. Sigh. I miss the scent of pipe tobacco, cigarillos, big fat Cubans, Dutch shag and even the spicy Indonesian kretek.

Thankfully, Lyn Harris did not send this perfume down the vape road. Instead, Feuilles de Tabac presents a spicy tobacco without any unnecessary sweetness. Classy and nevertheless modern in terms of sophistication and quality. It features a marvelous opening of brittle dry tobacco leaf, spiced up with pimento. For aficionados of classic tobacco like myself, this is top-notch.

Into the second hour, the dry tobacco starts to fade. Although a more moist tobacco takes over, the magic is lost a bit. At this point I sense some similarity with the drydown of Guerlain's Vetiver. Still very pleasant, of course, just a few steps down from the initial wow.

All in all, a very enjoyable experience. Classy and sophisticated perfume, clearly of high quality. Highly recommended!

Dry Aromatic Tobacco Leaves...
What I really love about this one, is that it takes you back to the days when fragrances were good! You know, when you smelt something and it had bite and character to it, like the aromatic fougères and masculines of the past. This is a dark, dry, smoker's scent. I get tobacco leaves being rolled into Cuban cigars... chilli and patchoulli and pine needles, sage and other herbs, underlined with a grassy, dry tonka bean. Almost like tonka flavoured tobacco leaves made for a fine quality cigar.

I also get cloves and hot spices mixed with dry herbs. It's very aromatic, and perfect for colder weather, a great individual scent for a strong personality type. Very distinctive. It's good, it reminds me of older stuff, Old Spice etc. But it has great character and great for smokers and non-smokers alike. Well done Lyn Harris!

Very lovely neck nuzzler
Nice start. Like peeling off the dry leaves from a cigar next to a flowering bush of tobacco flowers and herb bushes nearby. The soft leathery pepper accord blending beautifully with the almost narcotic, spicy flowers. There is a hint of smoke with a cinnamon twist that sharpens to anise or star anise with a clove feel. This is very pleasant and again reminds me of a Serge Lutens style but thankfully missing the dried fruit note. This one succeeds where La Fumee gets too currant bun. On the right man this would lead to almost certain neck snuffling behaviour. Not strident, just very pleasant. this was my favourite out of this little batch tried today.

Gentle smell of dry unsweetened tobacco. The spicy opening reminds me of Bel Ami. Then it gets smoky and woody. Predominantly masculine.
