It's quite a well made scent, I don't know if it's for me
On initial spray you get doused by the familiar scents of cardamom, clove, and a prominent citrusy note. I picked up the earthy facets of patchouli, the grassy tones of vetiver, and seemingly a pepper note? that isn't listed. a strong woody scent permeates throughout almost the entire wear. as the spice begins to mellow out the rose begins to come out and brings a rose water type of note. I'm now about near the end of its lifespan at around 8 hours ish. It now has that familiar oakmoss/ musk base that I've noticed in so many of Nicolai's fragrances. I echo what @Yatagan said. It evolves a lot and is quite a well made scent, I just don't think it is my cup of tea.

A Day in Belize
Uncommented Fragrances No. 170

A Nicolai that has not yet been reviewed: as unknown as Belize, a Central American country where English (!) is spoken, which is not known as a travel destination nor for political scandals, but rather for its famous mahogany woods, which are likely referred to by Bois Bélize.
On the first test, the scent seemed very complex to me, the individual notes appeared difficult to differentiate. In further attempts, the rose, a woody base (Guaiac wood seems plausible), and a powdery note, likely stemming from both ambrette seed and musk, became quite recognizable. Over this lies a spicy green veil that causes a tingling sensation in the nose, reminiscent of incense-laden and peppery fragrances. I find this very pleasant.
Bois Bélize is not a spectacular scent, but a refined one with a subtle fragrance development that progresses slowly yet noticeably. This is something Nicolai excels at. Whether this fragrance can succeed in a market that increasingly favors the bold and powerful, thus scents with a room-filling aura and long-lasting presence, remains to be seen. Soft olfactory tones are my world, the latter are not. And that is why this fragrance by Patricia de Nicolai resonates with me - and likely with similarly inclined noses - very much.

A complex green composition with an overall fresh+zesty cardamom-driven vibe. Cozy and uplifting at the same time.

Edit. I really like how sometimes fresh pink rose rise when I'm outdoor and the sun is shinning on this scent.

The smoky guaiac wood in Bois Bélize is a warm, comforting embrace. It's like wrapping yourself in a cashmere blanket by the fireplace

A stong rose at the beginning gently makes way for cloves.

Spices lie on the moss
and a bitter-fresh bergamot
then the roses break through damply
and cream a bit with woods

After a wonderfully fresh start, the clove sets in with full intensity on the little rose soap with an unspectacular wooden base.

Gives me riddles: powdery spicy rose tone, strong woody notes, green nuances: ethereal and distinctive at the same time, nonconformist yet normal.

This already shows
clear hints of the new signature of the house
in the opening, classic
in the base,
too many modern disruptive notes.

Citrusy fresh floral edgy notes. A mate iced tea brings refreshment in summer. Quite a nice ensemble.

It becomes too woody for me, what a shame! Because I really like the rose combined with the spices.
I haven't truly embraced the newer PdNs yet.
