Why is hazelnut so short-lived?
The scent is nice, but I expected it to charm me more, but in the meantime, there is no delight. It is simply ok.
The best part is the opening and the hazelnut note. The first seconds are quite strange and unclear, but after a while, when the scent settles on the skin, a beautiful hazelnut emerges. For a moment, it reminds me of nougat chocolates, which I love, except that it is nougat without chocolate. Over time, the nuttiness begins to disappear and the scent becomes more and more creamy, buttery and milky, but with spicy nuances. At times, a dried fruit accord breaks through, such as from Christmas Eve compote or winter tea that is drunk during the holiday season, where plums and cloves are not spared.
I look at the notes and I cannot believe that there is no incense here. When the nuts disappear, I can clearly smell church incense - candles are burning in the church walls and the scent of incense is in the air - that's how I feel it.
After about an hour, the magic disappears quite quickly, the scent becomes very flattened and very close to the skin. Roasted chestnuts, already a bit hackneyed in other perfumes, remain, only this time as if they were thrown into sweet milk after roasting.
A small projection that will not bother anyone makes Saint Honore a good candidate for Christmas Eve dinner. In general, I see this scent mainly for use on Christmas Day, although on the other hand I know better options for this occasion.
If the scent remained as in the opening, I would be delighted, but the further into the forest, the more average. It is nice and not even that sweet, but that is a bit too little. Longevity is good, but projection is low. Overall value for money is average.
