My favorite licorice gourmand
I didn't have high hopes for this because I was not a big fan of the original Madera, but wow! White Madera is the ultimate licorice and vanilla gourmand.

It opens up with a sharp, spicy blast of star anise that smells just like licorice. Or more precisely: Like the ammonium chloride filling of Turkish Pepper, the licorice hard candy that is sold with a warning that it's only for adults. It also reminds me of the chocolate coated salmiak lollipops they sell at funfairs.
But it becomes softer and smoother quickly. As it dries down a lovely creaminess with lots of vanilla and subtle coconut unfolds. The heart stage reminds me of Haribo confect, which is a sweet licorice sandwiched between two layers of chewy candy. Sorry, I guess my candy references here are very German, or maybe north/west/central European, and likely not that helpful for an international audience. If you never ate any of these, just imagine licorice that starts out spicy and ends sweet.

The final drydown isn't that focused on licorice/star anise anyways. It's soft vanilla, surprisingly powdery and cozy. The whole scent feels so comforting and enveloping, perfect for cold weather. The floral notes and musk don't really stand out, but they might be responsible for the powdery vibe in the base that makes the fragrance more refined that expected. The drydown lasts all day and night.

White Madera smells like a Christmas market in a bottle at times, but I think it can still easily be worn in January and February without feeling out of place. Basically whenever you need something delicious and calming. It was an instant love for me and I'm glad I got a bottle in time, as it seems to be discontinued now.

One of the most beautiful scents in my collection
Wow, this fragrance is almost indescribable with words.
Prerequisite: you like ANISE and VANILLA
(I didn't think before the first test that anise would be so appealing to me), the two main characters in this exciting and extraordinary scent.
The initial sweetness fades a bit towards the heart, and a light tobacco note comes in. I usually don't like coconut that much, but here it only stays in the background, hardly noticeable.
The overall composition is extraordinarily easy to wear, not annoying, and comforting.
It fits perfectly with autumn and winter. Above 25 degrees, it would be too fresh for me, and I probably wouldn't wear it anymore.
A 7.9 does not do it justice.
From me, it's a 10/10 and it's a heartfelt scent (few achieve that).

A Surprise Contender
This is a special fragrance. Unique yet pleasing.
Right upon spraying, the star anise is clearly noticeable. However, the vanilla makes it wonderfully soft and simply delicious. At some point, the vanilla takes a backseat to the star anise, which becomes stronger but not dominant. Overall, a very rounded scent. Spicy but not piercing. A warm, sweet base that doesn’t come off as sticky due to the floral notes. It is never floral, yet the combination seems to benefit the fragrance. I find the scent to be long-lasting, but close to the skin. This is a fragrance that can be worn well to work. Not loud, not intrusive, yet still something you don’t smell everywhere.
Great, this one is going on the wish list.

Underestimated Stroke of Luck with a Loud Voice
Yesterday, I was in my new favorite perfume shop, testing my way through the wonderful and unique scents with my companions when I stumbled upon you. Your brothers and sisters from the Omnia Profumi house had been on my list for a while, but not you. On the test strip, there was initially a very vanilla-heavy opening, which was quickly overpowered by a loud anise note. Later, I could almost only smell anise, which reminded me of a candy from my childhood: the purple violets with the licorice core ("Viola"). The white musk could occasionally make a brief appearance, but even it lost the battle against the muscled opponent of anise.
Today, I am testing you on my skin and once again notice a short, intense vanilla note. Again today, it is harshly put in its place by the purple pastilles. This remains the case for a while. The scent ends in a wonderfully rounded combination of vanilla and anise, with the latter not wanting to dominate so forcefully but rather aiming for a fusion. Both support each other and create a warm, slightly sweet, and cozy aura. All the other components round off the fragrance, but I cannot yet clearly filter them out. Conclusion: You are making it into my top 10, dear soul caresser.

Exactly the way that 'white chocolate liquorice bullets' taste. A creamy, white-chocolate-like vanilla coating a strong backbone of anise.

Anise? Yes, please! Sweet and comforting creamy vanilla and spice, perfect for winter. Nice, although it falls flat like Dulcis in Fundo.

Could appeal to fans of Dolce Acqua, as long as you don't mind star anise. It's potent. Creamy-smooth vanilla with a punch.

Starts sweet with vanilla, then becomes spicier and lighter with the anise, but doesn’t completely lose the sweetness. Musky fluffiness in the base.

First very strong, then milder, a cozy anise swims in the creamy vanilla, which almost resembles a thick milk.

The anise note defines my nose as a minty herbal candy, strongly reminds me of licorice. Definitely interesting for its lovers.

I didn't think I would like it that much, but White M launched a charm offensive and wrapped me around its finger.

Vanilla and delicate ethereal star anise match perfectly and unite as an initial dream couple. It ends in a pale illusion..
