Not as coconutty as I would have liked
"Where is the coconut?", was one of the first things I uttered when I tried Indian Coconut Nectar for the first time. It smelt a lot like cherry flavoured cough syrup which reminded me of feeling ill as a child. This was not that delicious, foody coconut on a tropical island that I was searching for.

The opening was very sweet and gooey, with a strong cherry accord. My father was quick to comment that I smelt like a lollipop. The sweetness actually made me feel a little self-conscious, so I was quick to cover my wrists with a thick jacket sleeve to subdue the sillage.

For at least the first hour or so, Indian Coconut Nectar seemed to be all about the cherries, until thankfully the heart introduced the 'coconut'. This coconut accord is perhaps more vanillary than most, also a tad synthetic. It's not dry, nor is it tropical. On the skin it smells pleasing enough, however it's not what I'd call a truthful interpretation of coconut. I've owned lotions and lip balms that smell more coconutty than this.

My disappointment has evidently spilled over into this review. I find the name very misleading. To be fair, I have given this fragrance two chances, and I found that on the second day of wearing, Indian Coconut Nectar has a rather pretty drydown, which is probably the most coconutty you'll get from this composition.

The scent's good points include its rather strong sillage and great longevity. The drydown, as I mentioned before, is commendable. I only wish that the whole composition was as satisfying. This review is for the EDT, however from what I've read, the solid perfume is much better.

Toasted Coconut
I have the roll on oil. Opens very sweet vanilla with sandalwood and toasted coconut. The vanilla is strong while the coconut is just a backup player, noticeable but not as much as I would have liked or even expected by the name.

It quickly dries down to a warm, sweet, skin level scent on me and I get nice whiffs of it as I move around hours later. So although I like the super sweet, comforting warmth of this it doesn't pack enough punch for a daily scent for me. I do enjoy it as evening lounging around the housed scent.

Sweet, beachy vanilla coconutmilk
Pacifica’s Indian Coconut Nectar is a super sweet treat for the nose. Very warm, smooth, and creamy. It’s reminiscent of suntan lotions in that it’s a bit buttery, or a coconut snowcone in that it’s extremely sweet and syrupy, but I think Indian Coconut Nectar is prettier and less synthetic than either. Thus, the image I get is sunbathing on the shore and sipping on a fresh young coconut in bliss. The fragrance is equally sweetened condensed coconutmilk and vanilla. Simple and delicious, straightforward and no frills. Don’t expect anything complicated. It’s just sweet vanilla coconut, but I like it. Wear this when you want to feel the carefree serenity of summer youth, a sweet gentle breeze on a warm beach day. A leisure fragrance. Props for a vegan company coming up with something fun and inexpensive.

Unsuitable for Frequent Sprayers!
As I already mentioned in my comments on Bloodorange and Alchemy by Aftelier, I received some cream perfumes from Tarata of this brand. Since all the cream scents I tested from this brand behaved the same way, I would like to comment on ICN as a representative for the others.

ICN is, like all previous Pacifica scents, a soliflore. It has a subtle coconut scent. I couldn't perceive any vanilla, as this cream perfume had (like the others) a scent behavior similar to that of a body lotion. For ten minutes, it has a subtle scent of the indicated note, and after that, there's nothing left.

This was my experience with all the cream scents from this brand, which I personally find unfortunate, as the perfumes all smelled very natural.

For me, as a fan of expressive scents and a confessed frequent sprayer, such perfumes are simply totally unsuitable.

My recommendation for lovers of subtle and natural scents, I can only repeat here once again.

A lonely island, sun, beach, and a green coconut.
Anyone who usually recoils at the mention of the fragrance note "coconut" should definitely pause for thought with this perfume.
Like "Island Vanilla" by Pacifica, the opening is strongly alcoholic; however, this dissipates within just a few seconds. What follows is... extraordinary.
This is not a fruity party scent that reminds one of wet and merry nights at Ballermann (which I am really not the type for).
Normally, you know immediately what a coconut scent has to offer, but this one is different.
I would describe this fragrance with one word as "tropical":
Imagine a lonely island; an island where nothing bad can happen to you and where you enjoy solitude - I think of the movie scene in "Breakfast at Tiffany's," where Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly talks about the feeling of absolute security that "Tiffany's" gives her when she feels fear but doesn't know what of.
The sand is light and untouched; the sea is clear, turquoise, and calm.
The sun is shining, and it is pleasantly warm, but not hot - just perfect.
Your toes dig into the warm sand, and as your feet become comfortably warm, so does your heart.
"Coconut Nectar" is not an explicitly warm scent; it is gentle and a little fresh - like the wind that makes your hair flutter; and the scent of coconut is not taken from the flesh of an overripe coconut - as one knows it from various perfumes - but corresponds to that of a young, green coconut from which you drink pure coconut water.

Conclusion:
In my eyes, Pacifica once again manages to capture an authentic scent whose natural origin cannot be denied.
This naturalness, the unpretentiousness, makes this fragrance so special, and it doesn't require many fragrance notes - sometimes less is indeed more (especially when it comes to the ingredients).
The fact that there is no noteworthy scent development is also not a disadvantage, because what is already very beautiful does not necessarily need to change to be interesting.
The longevity is good and lasts about 8 hours, with the scent being quite close to the body and in no way intrusive.
Among the natural cosmetic perfumes, "Coconut Nectar" is one of my (few) absolute favorites - in fact, so far the only one besides Pacifica's "Island Vanilla."
Unfortunately, I have not been able to warm up to Weleda and Farfalla scents, which is why I am so happy to have come across "Coconut Nectar," as this fragrance fills a significant niche in the range of natural cosmetic perfumes by providing a wonderful scent experience for those who love sweet, fresh, and tropical fragrances.

Mostly indistinct white floral (feels like "hairspray"), with subtle fresh coconut milk (semi-sweet and pulpy). Not very coconut-y.

Intensely sweet, condensed creamy coconut scent with subtly strong longevity. At least somewhat discreet: for Batida lovers.

Coconut ice cream, milky sweet, a beautifully simple treat, quickly turns more vanilla. Sweet tooth lovers will enjoy it, yum yum.

Comes very close to the Yves Rocher coconut perfume that was a must-have in every teen's handbag around 2010 :) Absolute coconut bomb.

The top note gives me woodruff vibes, but quickly shifts to delicious coconut. S/D is unfortunately weak.
P/L is great, definitely a re-spray candidate.

Coconut in its cheapest form. Could also be a body mist from the dollar store.
