Silver Moon — Pacifica: Pretty, Simple, Safe and Zero Staying Power
Reviewing OG Silver Moon, in the square bottle, which has been discontinued. It's light, pleasant and uncomplicated. This is a warm, nutty vanilla rather than a sugary cupcake vanilla, so if you're tired of the way that note has been trending sweeter and fluffier the past few years, Silver Moon makes a nice change. There's no baby wipe/Playdoh vibe on my skin, but it's easy to imagine how that could happen if your chemistry clashes, so try a sample before buying.
That said, for a long time this was the closest dupe I've found to the original B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar perfume. I think layering it with a WVS body mist may even get the 2020 formulation closer than it is on its own?
Unfortunately, either I've gone totally nose blind in about two minutes or Silver Moon has the staying power of water. If it had more longevity or the price point were lower, I'd probably bathe in it. Since it's the ghost of a skin scent in less than five minutes I have to assume it'll be gone completely within the hour. Disappointing considering the fact it's supposed to be parfum and the price point. I expect a parfum to knock me on my ass, not gently air kiss me on the cheek.
Though this has been "officially" discontinued, it's still pretty easy to find. I do hope the reformulation maintains the best parts of the scent profile and improves on the strength, because it's a very pretty, easy to wear fragrance. I just wish it lasted.
