Lovely Gardenia Fragrance
Sprayed at 7:40am

A rich gardenia comes through immediately, but at initial spray I also got a strong herbal note… kind of like basil or thyme. However that has faded into what I think is the sweet, green notes characteristic to Gardenia. Once it has dried, the projection is pretty strong. I never really comment on sillage (since I can’t tell if a scent is being left behind when I’m testing alone), but I could imagine this leaving quite a trail. I’m not sure how I feel about that though since I prefer my fragrances to be more intimate.

By 45 min in the sweetness inherent in gardenia has come to the forefront. I’m honestly not getting much other than gardenia, though it’s very pleasant.

By 9:30 there’s not much projection, but it is still perceptible from up close. It remains a true gardenia scent and hasn’t evolved much from the first dry down. Does that make it a linear scent?

For a $22 perfume, I think this is lovely and performed decently well. It has also made me realize that gardenia is a floral note I quite like. I just think I’d like to find a more complex gardenia fragrance to invest in. I’ll hold on to the sample for future reference though.

Creamy and fresh gardenia at a great price
I find that Pacifica does white floral soliflores very well. I have Tahitian Gardenia, Waikiki Pikake and Nerola Orange Blossom, all in solid form. I wear them seperately and also layered in various combinations. I can always put together a lovely tropical bouquet with these scents.

Tahitian Gardenia is a sweet, creamy, fresh and green gardenia. It is my least expensive gardenia scent and also one of my favorites. As are most Pacifica fragrances, Tahitian Gardenia is straightforward and simple. There are not layers of development in this one. This is not a criticism, as I find the simplicity of the Pacifica scents delightful and the quality typically very good. Longevity and sillage for Tahitian Gardenia is also impressive, particularly for a solid perfume.

All in all, Tahitian Gardenia solid perfume is a little gem and a true bargain at $9US

White Flowers in the Tropical Rainforest.
“Tahitian Gardenia” is as present as one can expect from only a few “Clean Beauty” fragrances, and the longevity is excellent for this niche, lasting over eight hours on me.
Moreover, it is a very special scent:
“Tahitian Gardenia” is sultry, green, and distinctly floral.
Unlike most other Pacifica fragrances that I own or have tested, a clear scent progression can be observed:
The opening is intensely floral, followed by a citrus component in the heart that smells more like lemon than the stated orange - because this perfume is not really sweet.
The gardenia is, as the name at least suggests, omnipresent.
The (also green) tea is more of a supporting character, lending a calmly ethereal note.
The heaviness makes the scent glamorous, and I immediately associate it with a warm, tropical rainforest, a (in the best sense) “green hell,” where white flowers reach out towards the translucent light on the trunks and shrubs.
It fits quite well that the gardenia is white and grows in the tropical rainforests of East Asia (and even more remarkable, as I didn’t know this before my very first white-flower-in-the-rainforest association). :)
“Tahitian Gardenia” simply has an incredible presence, and the floral heaviness gives the scent a naturally glamorous note, which is rarely found (and almost never in natural fragrances).

Conclusion:
As striking and present as “Tahitian Gardenia” is, its wearer should come across equally effortlessly glamorous and self-assured.
In any case, it is an unusual scent that you don’t have to approach closely to perceive.

Fresh, green, & slightly "spicy" gardenia with a hint of sharp "hairspray". I prefer the creamy gardenia of Tocca Florence.

Beautiful natural gardenia white flower scent. Longevity 3/4 hours, sillage moderate but I love to spray more here.
