Oriental spicy, woody fragrance with an interesting light sweetness
The 1 Million Oud has times as good as nothing to do with its brothers. It is a fragrance from the series, which really stands out to some extent and I feel that is really cool!

One gets here a in my opinion vordergründig spicy-woody fragrance with oriental impact.
The fragrance starts directly spicy, peppery. Finely honed saffron (no Baccarat Rouge saffron) with nutmeg and pepper. A certain freshness is felt in the background and lifts this spice a little and gives a little twist that does the fragrance good.
Listed here is the bergamot, but still you get the impression somehow also perceive mint.

After a few moments, even a certain sweetness comes through, but a little different than in his brothers. Perhaps a little of the typical 1Million DNA is present, the more I think about it, but still it is different. I find that with a little imagination you could even draw an association to a peppermint chocolate.
This kind of sweetness wafting around approximately in the fragrance.

Overall, a really solid scent.
It smells good, makes you feel great, and really comes across as elegant as well.

The performance is good.

and if again some people start to talk the fragrance bad, do not let you talk yourself into something like that. Many are on the road here the constantly designers down and that completely baseless. Many designers are well designed, although not all, that is clear to me.

The best One Million?
Whether the One Million Golden Oud is really limited to 500 flacons remains to be seen. The current status is that it is still available on the Paco Rabanne website.

In any case, I treated myself to it because I was hoping to get a good Paco Rabanne here. I have now received it and yes, it is good. Very good, in fact.

Typical for Paco Rabanne, the opening is convincing: a very nice and spicy start, you can really smell the saffron.
But the positive impression does not end with the opening, because the leathery oud note is quickly added and it also becomes increasingly sweet, but not too sweet. In the end, the leathery oud base remains, but the Golden Oud has also become a little creamy and balsamic in the drydown. I also imagine that I can detect the original One Million DNA very slightly in the background.

But it will take a while to reach the end, because the Golden Oud stays on the skin for a long time, a very long time. Lasting time for me is 12h+. The projection is also exceptionally good and very present for the first few hours.

The best One Million? Maybe, because I don't know the Privé. In any case, a wonderful perfume.

Golden Oud
Long awaited, finally home! Fortunately, it has its very own fragrance DNA! Leather is in the foreground, extremely dominant, you can still smell it hours later! The spicy note only comes after the fragrance develops on the skin. Therefore, the durability is decent. The price-performance is hard to beat, is in the designer range, but the fragrance can keep up with niche fragrances in terms of quality. I am currently layering it with Ojar Eagle Eyed Stranger. A fragrance for people who like heavy, dominant scents.

Decent sweet oud but nothing new
First wearing of Paco Rabanne 1 Million Golden Oud, the most recent release from the 1 Million line, following 1 Million Royal, of which I was not big fan. Golden Oud is an improvement, for sure, a sweet-leaning oud/woody/generally resinous blend with an assortment of spices that make it a bit gourmand-leaning, even. It’s strong but does not smell terribly unique and is a bit forgettable, as it sort of smells a lot like other perfumes I’ve smelled in the past handful of years without really distinguishing itself in any special way. It’s not bad at all, but just misses the mark of something new or special within the line.

The only point of sale that has it (that I’m familiar with) is Jomashop, a secondary market website that operates in the US, in which it’s for sale for $130 for 100ml. Fortunately, the fragrance performs very well and the value is not too bad as far as the line goes if you’re particularly into it, but I’m just not.

A Familiar Luxury
While 1 Million Golden Oud is not groundbreaking, it did exceed my expectations for a designer release. 1 Million DNA, reaching into niche territory with a Middle Eastern vibe. If I could paint a picture, I’d say 1 Million meets Acqua di Parma Oud, with many similarities to RL Polo Supreme Leather. To no surprise as they share nutmeg, saffron and a coincidentally similar leather note. Ultimately, Golden Oud is an oriental woody leather with wisps of freshness and powdery tendencies.

1 Million Lucky is fun, but inferior to 1 Million Golden Oud. I personally found them to be nothing alike. The man who wears Lucky is not the same man who wears Golden Oud. Like comparing sweats to business attire. There are also many comparisons to Gucci Guilty Absolute, which I found to capture the essence of bandaids and medical tape. Everyone’s perception on scent is different however.

This release was for collectors and enthusiasts, although still potentially a crowd pleaser in the most sophisticated sense. Designer Ouds usually are.

After 3 hours the fragrance effortlessly continued to project, so performance is no question here. Golden Oud constantly reminds you of its presence throughout the day. My first blind purchase of 2024 and inconceivably without regret.
