Minty mastic
Just like Mal-Aimé, also from the Corsican Heritage line, this is ultra leafy-green. While Mal-Aimé is roadside weeds all the way, Corsica Furiosa feels a bit more composed. Overall I get a vegetale green impression with a minty-peppery sharpness, against a light mossy-resin background.

With Corsica Furiosa, Parfum d'Empire created another unique scent of very decent quality, that much is sure. But somehow both Mal-Aimé and Corsica Furiosa leave me completely indifferent, while I consider myself a fanatic for aromatic green and herbaceous scents.

Perfume as a piece of art
This is a 10/10 fragrance that received the Fragrance of the Year award 2015 by the Fragrace Foundation. This fragrance is the true meaning of niche and it is one of the best gates to the world of (REAL) niche fragrance. This is a perfume that is created for its own artistic purpose, not for marketing, mass-pleasing, or any other purpose.

The fragrance was created by Marc-Antoine Corticchiato who grew up on a beautiful island named "Corsica". I am sure this perfume is very meaningful for its' creator and it is a bridge to the emotional world of his childhood.

I am not going to talk about the scent because you should feel the scent yourself. The only thing I can say is that the perfumer did not mess up the great scent of his creation by adding fruity and floral notes because of the marketing purposes. This is for professionals who understand the scent and respect it.

Smells nothing like the Island of beauty, but nonetheless a perfume of beauty
This is as green as you can get. It begins with a blast of bitter, green galbanum, fresh cut grass, tomato leaf, and cracked pea pods. It dries on smooth, clean, federative musks.

Matches my distant memory of GAP Grass, but better.

To me Corsica smells like a bouquet of aromatics, but not this. But it is a beautiful perfume nonetheless, very wearable, even addictive, and a favorite for rainy spring days.

Smells like the color: lime green.

Stay out, insect!
The hairy stem of the tomatoplant rubs your hand. That sharp smell says: "stay out, insect!" Slight mint, a bit arid. Though a bit more gentle as Mal-Aime, also bitter and herby. Where Mal Aime is weeds, this is more fresh, higher pitched and a bit less droughty.

20 minutes later it becomes softer and the tomato stem stays the most recognisable note. Then that lands in a clean total. It becomes a bit well-behaved. Not that furious. Maybe furious like an Iron Maiden shirt from H&M.

The clean tone for me leans feminine. But my prejudice is that everything clean is female. After two-three hours it's almost gone.
If you are looking for the more punchy, sharp, dry, character of the opening, try Mal-Aime. Especially if you like dried out weeds. If you like dry mastic, try Phaedon Lentisque.

Between the Mediterranean sea and the Maquis, while the Mistral is blowing
Corsica Furiosa has a truly amazing tomato plant and grass opening - one the like of which i never experienced before. It's harsh, and yet it's not - it's not as bitter as one would expect, and it doesn't get the unpleasant rancid/sour notes that sometimes joins grassy/tomato leaf scents after a while. It smells incredibly natural and fresh and remains that way.

The greenness fades stays but slowly makes more room for lime (green lemon) and something that reminds me of balsamic vinegar (maybe the lentisque, I never smelled any "in the wild"). There is a tiny hint of pepper, honey and mint as well.

Despite all those Italian salad ingredients, it doesn't make one smell like food - it's too green for that.

I can't pinpoint it on any note, and this might be due to my own associations and memories of tons of tomato salads on holiday in the Mediterranean, but this also reminds me of the air in the Maquis - a mix of salty, windswept earth and summer-dried aromatic herbs.

It's a wonderous, amazing scent. It projects heavenly as well.

I'm still hesitating to buy a full bottle because of wearability concerns. Usually I can predict how other people will react pretty well, but I'm not sure how other people will perceive this one. But it sure is amazing to wear.

Beautiful mastic solinote. Green, like galbanum without the bite. Terpenic, like cooling conifers. Slight chewy texture from the resins.

Sharp opening isn't bad but the prospect of smelling like that all day is a little daunting. Settles quickly to a lower-key savoriness.

Mossy and a little soapy. Not as bitter or aromatic as I’d hoped.
