Sharp and screechy
Oh noooo. Literally had to scrub this off both times I tried it. I thought maybe I’d been too harsh the first time, so I tried it again, but no. It’s full on sharp screechy 1990s era green and white florals that remind me of a cheap knock off Eternity—a perfume I don’t actually like much in the first place. It also made me sneeze. Major sad face, or more accurately, mad face that even though I scrubbed it twice with strong soap, I can still smell it.

An hour was more than enough..
Short and sweet, simply terrible.. It has only happened to me a couple of times that I had to wash off a fragrance after an hour, but I just had to wash off Darcy because I could no longer stand the “scent”.. Piercing and sharp to the heavens.. I see people at the cemetery, all dressed in black with black lips and dog collars as jewelry.. Chills...

I usually love bergamot and orange scents, but I only smell some piercing, floral, indefinable notes. I see a black rose, murky and dark, with a piercing orange in the background.. After 20 minutes, my nose almost hurt and I had to surrender to Darcy.. I was waiting for something soft, something soft that would “kill” this unbearable sharpness, including creepy thoughts and images, but unfortunately nothing came...

Personality Disorder in a Bottle
Even though I like some Marly fragrances, Darcy - otherwise very hyped - is a flop for me. No plan, no concept, personality disorder in a bottle, that would be the short version.
If I hadn't known that I was smelling a fragrance from the luxury sector, I would never have guessed it blind. For me, it's quite mainstream in the opening and not worth the price.
I love bergamot and orange scents, but here I don't smell either, instead, I get piercing, floral, and in the drydown, undefinable notes.
Carnival sweets and just at that moment, a man walks by, his aftershave lingers in the air.
Generic, interchangeable, and arbitrary.
Similar to some Montale fragrances, just shorter-lived and less overwhelming.
A bit similar to Panthere by Cartier, which I also didn't like. Some say it smells like Mademoiselle by Chanel, but I only find the first 30 minutes similar. My main problem with this fragrance is that it smells so arbitrary.
The sillage is good, the longevity is poor, and I would rather wear this scent in colder seasons.
More of an evening fragrance.
A very contradictory scent development, as if the fragrance suffers from a personality disorder.
Initially very feminine, sweet, and omnipresent, in the end, aftershave vibes.
No blind buy and for me, not a buy at all, 10 ml vial has to go too.

You take different paths! / Are you a Marly?
Hello everyone,

this will be a relatively short review. I know there are different tastes and that is a GOOD thing...

The scent is strange, difficult, scratchy, and somehow unpleasant - really.
(Although it starts sweet floral, a bit green herbal, and in the drydown slightly sweet and soft. Ultimately, it reads very pleasantly, but the composition is really odd for the house and, in my opinion, not fitting if you know the brand's standard...)

I cannot recommend it to you!

The H/S is quite good to good, however after testing it once or twice, my wife and I could no longer smell it - she also found it extremely unpleasant and she is a big fan of the house.

What PDM has done here is beyond my understanding, it is an absolute mystery to me, really! We are not dealing with a budget brand here, but a high-end niche house and those exact words offend me a bit!

Why?

I have been a big fan of the house since 2011 / 2012 and MANY scents have been really good, and I am talking about scents for both women and men, but here, phew...

The bottles, sprayers, and caps at PDM ultimately hardly differ (by gender), except in color, BUT one must say the house really does a lot right, anything less than a 9 or 10/10 is hard for me to understand (I like those)!

And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
_______
And now, almost finally, regarding the "lovely price," I will say this: if we say we have a certain desire for luxury products/fragrance products in the niche sector, then I find it difficult or, to be honest, nearly pointless to criticize this as something negative. No one forces us to spend this money. If you ask me now: Benny, is it WORTH it? Then I say, if you want to spend it, test it and then buy it, but I recommend everyone to try it at least once! You just have to experience it - the art of what is possible / can be.

Now a brief note on my opinion:

I am not sponsored, influenced by anyone, receiving money or anything else. I approach the topic of perfume as I am, honestly, anything else is not my style. My true personal opinion is very VALUABLE to me and I hope maybe ;) that this is noticeable. If I don't like something, such as the packaging, bottle, sprayer, or H/S, then I communicate that too!

Not for everyone
I am a big fan of Parfum de Marly, so I didn't hold back and tried more fragrances from the line: Darcy.
Expectations were high, but in practice, it was unfortunately a bit lackluster. I expected a lot more, more depth, more character. It is by no means a bad fragrance, but nothing that would "catch" me. The scent smells like many others, simply thrown together, without any standout character - just as one knows from Marly. Longevity is as usual: quite good and long-lasting. It also lingers in the nose for a long time. After some time, a rather delicate version of it remains, which is much more pleasant than the initial part. Nevertheless, it's nothing I would be hyped about or recommend further. Fine for testing, but not for future use.

A beautiful evening perfume, but not worth the money. The bottle is a masterpiece. Longevity is poor for the money. The scent reminds me of red rose

By far the weakest fragrance of the brand. Old-fashioned, out of time and nothing special.

Sweeter, simpler and easier version of Coco Mademoiselle, the aroma in overall is very similar though. I prefer CM Or Penhaligon’s Empressa.

Unpleasant floral scent with orange and musk. And as always with the nasty ones, they last forever. Even the patchouli doesn't save it.

A well-known, moderately sweet mix of floral and orange notes on a somewhat rough patchouli-musk base.

Very unconventional scent composition.
Fruity floral.
The fragrance notes are rather indefinable.
A bit too loud for my taste, but if you like it...

Maltol meets Patchouli. I hear the little angels singing. The annoying ones from the 90s. Flight reflex. Well done, for those who like it.

Another floral-fruity with a creamy sweet base. It doesn't smell bad now, but it doesn't excite me either.

Coco Mademoiselle no longer wants to smell like Mr. Darcy. He recommends this version. More expensive.
But not better.
Still wearable and pleasant.
