Sweet Disaster

Absolutely awful.

Sickeningly sweet, like a cheap, nutty paste overloaded with sugar and artificial additives. No offense to anyone, but I honestly think it smells terrible! On top of that, it has nothing in common with the original Paradoxe fragrances, they might as well have released it as a completely new perfume rather than a flanker.

I’m completely baffled — both by the scent itself and the logic behind it.

A real shame, because the bottle looks stunning in this color!

I was allowed to test the new Prada Paradoxe Radical Essence today thanks to a sample and was curious to see how and if the salty pistachio harmonizes with the floral.
It harmonizes. Very well, in fact, in my opinion.
When you spray it on for the first time, you get a pistachio cream with a hint of salt in your nose.
However, this is a very short pleasure. After about 10 to 15 minutes, the pistachio has completely evaporated and what remains is Prada Paradoxe Floral. Also nice.
But I already have it. And this pistachio gimmick would definitely not be reason enough for me to buy another bottle.
But if you like PP floral and are thinking of buying it anyway, you could perhaps consider whether you would like to start with pistachio and then go for this version.

I was really excited about this version of Paradoxe and was finally able to test it on my wrist today. After spraying, the pistachio immediately comes in full force, which I really liked. Then the Paradoxe DNA joins in and pushes the pistachio note into the background, which made the whole thing very penetrating for about 5 minutes. The impression may also have been due to the weather, as the air was warm and humid. The fragrance then becomes softer and softer and is wonderfully nutty-creamy in the drydown, no longer reminding me of the original Paradoxe, a great pistachio-sandalwood blend. I have always hung my nose on my wrist to catch the scent) I think it will be even more beautiful on cool days in fall/winter.
