Ah, this is so wonderful. My wish to test most (or actually all) of Prada's infusion fragrances has come a step closer thanks to one of my dearest friends. With a small sample from her, I was finally able to test and comment on the fragrance with the almost cumbersome, double-barreled name d’Iris L’Eau d’Iris (almost similar to Chanel's Sport Cologne Sport).
Of course, all soap opponents (dirty dirty...) should now look away or not continue reading, because the scent does smell soapy, yes, but as I have written about some Prada fragrances before, it is NOT just soap.
*sigh*
Actually, I should feel sorry for the dirty little ones... I meant the soap opponents, because they are missing out on a beautiful, very pleasant scent with this one, whose only downside is the somewhat weak sillage... which is why it unfortunately misses a higher rating, but still, 8.5 points is pretty good and already falls into my "buy category"...
The scent:
At first, before one can even identify any of the notes, you immediately perceive the absolutely typical and wonderful Prada DNA, which always exudes a clean feeling. Then the top note consists of mint and neroli, with the mint being the stronger note. This makes the scent quite fresh. Additionally, you can also smell something slightly sweet, but I'm not quite sure where this sweetness comes from. Maybe from the lily of the valley?
In any case, in the heart note, the neroli becomes noticeably weaker, but the mint remains fairly strong. Light and (thankfully) non-stuffy floral notes come into play. But as always, the iris gives the fragrance a wonderful note that makes it beautifully powdery and soft. At every moment, you can smell these clean notes that give off the typical Prada soapy scent and convey a great feeling of cleanliness.
In the base, not much seems to change, as the listed woody notes in this fragrance are weaker and hardly make an impact. The musk may give off a slight sweet note, but you can also smell it quite weakly. I could hardly smell any vanilla either. Thus, the fragrance remains soft and powdery in the base due to the iris, slightly floral and slightly sweet. All in all, a consistently excellent fragrance. However, the scent does lose a bit of the Prada DNA starting from the base or rather becomes weaker.
Longevity and sillage:
The fragrance belongs to the infusions, which unfortunately do not last as long. At least on my skin, it barely managed four to five hours with effort, as after that it was really only extremely weakly present.
The sillage is actually also a reason to cry *sniff*
Because it projects little and will only be detectable at first, before you have to get very close to the lady to sniff her scent. For oneself, the scent lingers a bit longer in the nose, but even here it soon seems weak.
The bottle:
And again, we have the beautiful rectangular bottle, which has the well-known (but this time pink-tinted) Prada plaque on the front. The bottle also has a lovely light pink gradient, while the bottom becomes greener. The cap is cylindrical and covered with a pink fabric. As always, a very beautiful bottle.
Hmm, with all the beautiful Prada fragrances, it's really hard to decide which one I prefer. Even though almost all have the typical Prada DNA, they (the d’Iris fragrances) each have their own scent, so they don't all smell the same or very similar. With the Infusion d’Iris (from 2007), for example, I had the feeling that it smelled stronger of vetiver. Here, however, we have a scent that is also iris-powdery, but seems more relaxed and floral. But: Both smell wonderful!
Since the L’Eau here has turned out to be too weak in projection, it is more suitable as a fragrance for leisure or as a daytime scent. So a scent that is more for oneself and thus should smell good to oneself, while the lady using the fragrance also smells wonderful to everyone else up close. But as I said, you have to almost hug her to notice the scent on her, but maybe that could also be given as a reason to give someone a tight squeeze ;-)
In any case, the scent fits well in spring and summer; on colder days, it would dissipate too quickly...
I am really glad that a dear friend introduced me to the world of Prada fragrances, otherwise I would have missed out on something wonderful. So, now I just need a few more of the infusions... who will help me complete my comments? *looking very sweet* :D
What? No one?!... just soap haters here...
*blub blub* = soap bubbles, he he he...
