Prada Infusion Mimosa
Sunshine in a bottle. It's lovely and uplifting with the refreshing Mandarin and sparkly Anis opening. Melded Into a creamy Soft Rose Base. Like a hybrid of Amande and Infusion Rose. I do get that suntan lotion vibe with the fluffy floral Mimosa . It's very feminine, slightly fruity but mainly floral fresh. Soft skin scent with moderate Sillage and Longevity.

Soft yellow
Latest addition to "Les Infusions de Prada" to complete and round the circle of an absolute coherent concept. A small semi-niche collection of seven perfumes that had their beginning with the highly acclaimed Iris (possibly one of the cleanest perfumes created in the last decade).

The nice thing about "Les Infusions" is that they all smell the same and different at the same time.

This one smells like yellow flowers floating in cotton.

Definitely a unisex fragrance for the soft and bold.

in search of the mimosa
Anyone who knows me is aware that the mimosa, not just in scent, is a huge favorite of mine among plants. In fact, it leads the list of beloveds even before the rose.
The sweetness, which is muted - not covered - by a certain bitterness; the fragility of the leaves - whether as mimosa or acacia - and the yellow spherical flowers: all of this represents the mimosa for me!

But where is it in Prada's "Infusion de Mimosa"?
In my opinion, it is dominated, if not completely overwhelmed, by the strong star anise aroma!
I admit: I also avoid star anise in my kitchen; I don't like that certain scratchiness. Neither in sweet dishes nor in hearty meals.
There are only a few fragrances where I can tolerate this spiciness. It happens.
So, the mimosa is pushed into the background in the fragrance creation named after it - what a pity!
Instead, a fresh, again slightly synthetic mandarin stands beside the star anise: both seem to want to demonstrate their camaraderie from Christmas recipes.
Only a full-bodied rose scent can compete with these two; this makes the fragrance softer and less scratchy.
The magic that makes the mimosa special for me is simply not present.
I am very disappointed!

That does not mean that "Infusion de Mimosa" is not a wearable fragrance. To claim otherwise would simply be unfair!
Very clean, very pure, it envelops the wearer. The memory of a soothing bath followed by a generous application of fragrant body lotion comes to mind.
The illusion of a long-lasting freshness, of cleanliness, is conveyed quite well here.

Despite all its perceivable prickliness from the star anise and mandarin, "Infusion de Mimosa" is full-bodied and also has an average longevity.
I do not wish to judge whether the price-performance ratio is right.

It also turns out again that I have great difficulties with some of the Prada fragrances, even if they come from a similarly themed series.
However, in this case, I personally resent how the mimosa has been "castrated".
Why does this fragrance bear the name of a plant/flower that then has to take a backseat to a spice?

There are surely lovers of "Infusion de Mimosa"; I will place my sample among the travel testers.
Of course, I would be happy if it found its way to someone who appreciates it!
This fragrance certainly deserves it - just not with me!

Body Spray
Okay, I really feel bad. I'm writing a comment here about a Prada fragrance for 80 euros and concluding that for me it’s actually more like a light body spray. The punchline: I've already written such a comment once, about a scent from the Aldi brand Anna Biondi. The two have one thing in common: they smell great, but not intense and certainly not long-lasting. Now, you can overlook that in a perfume for 4 euros, but for 20 times that...? I don't know.

That said, I find the scent really beautiful; the enchanting mimosa is supported by fruity-sparkling mandarin (wonderful in summer!), feminine thanks to the totally unobtrusive rose, and finally rounded off by spicy-soft anise. I love anise in all variations, but I've already mentioned that in one of my previous comments. So I'm repeating myself!

Prada Infusion de Mimosa could really have the potential to be a repurchase candidate and a go-to scent; in principle, it fits the office, leisure time, but also quite well for the evening. However, when I spray it on in the morning after bathing, I can hardly smell anything by the time I arrive at work. Very unfortunate! The infusion seems to consist only of NaCl with a splash of active ingredient.

Flowers in the Washing Machine
It's been a long time since I tested a Prada fragrance. By that, I mean one of the Infusion scents, as there are already two new fragrances from this brand, L'Homme and La Femme. No, I'm talking about the wonderful Infusions, where you can immediately perceive the typical, slightly synthetic and slightly soapy-clean Prada note upon the first spray, which some philistines scream "Eww, soap!" and run away from.

When I saw Infusion de Mimosa here on Parfumo, the fragrance immediately went on my watchlist, even though I had some concerns, as I normally expect a rather floral-stuffy scent from a mimosa. But after all, it says Prada combined with Infusion, so I'm still extremely curious about how this scent will turn out.

I suspect, as always, that this fragrance will also reveal soapy components, which means that soap haters should already prepare to run away screaming :D

The scent:
There it is again. The unmistakable, clean Prada DNA that you can't smell in any other fragrance, just as I expected. This scent also starts with anise, which comes across as a bit unusual for those who aren't fond of anise. Nevertheless, the fragrance is also soft and slightly powdery (or rather creamy) and has a very light, sweet note in the background.
Then you can soon smell the mimosas, which give off a floral-sweet scent, but do not smell stuffy as feared.
The anise still has a slight presence, but most of it has long since faded away. The clean note smells, as always, like a fabric softener, but as mentioned, rather floral with a "mimosa flavor" instead of rosy, as I can't detect any rose notes at all.
A little later, you still have a slightly floral mimosa scent under your nose along with the Prada DNA, but the fragrance then feels quite light, and you get the impression that something is missing, like a hint of sandalwood as a base, which could have benefited the scent.
Unfortunately, a bit later, the Prada DNA completely bids farewell, leaving behind a slightly watered-down floral scent, which is nice but no longer special. Well, then you can just spray it on again.

The sillage and longevity:
The sillage is rather subtle, as with most fragrances here. Okay, the anise provides a slightly stronger start, but really only for a very short time. Otherwise, the fragrance is only detectable up close. A little later, I even find it somewhat close to the skin.
The longevity is somewhat better, and you can smell the fragrance for eight hours, although, as mentioned, it becomes very weak later on.

The bottle:
The bottle has the same shape as all the Infusions. It is rectangular with rounded sides or edges and is filled with mimosa-yellow fragrance liquid. On the front, you can see the metallic Prada plaque. The cap is cylindrical and has the typical Prada "fabric cover," this time in yellow. The label is, as always, placed on the left (or right? Depending on where you look at the bottle from :D) side, which lists the fragrance name along with the ingredients.
As always, a beautiful bottle.

It seems that Prada never seems to go wrong with all the Infusion fragrances. Sure, there are one or two scents that some may not like as much, but overall, most are excellent fragrances that will appeal to those who have no aversion to being clean :D

Unfortunately, with this scent, the sillage is weaker than the usual Infusions, and the well-known Prada DNA fades away a bit too quickly. At least, that's how it seemed to me. But well, it's suitable for summer and might come across better on warmer days. If it is still a bit too weak for someone, they can always create a decant for re-spraying.

As usual, one appreciates not only the (soapy) cleanliness but also the soft side of the fragrance, as it initially smells creamy and then powdery. However, this is also something that saves the fragrance. Because if this Prada DNA were not present, the fragrance itself would still be nice but would come across as a bit too banal (as a simple but well-made floral scent among many).

Mimosa lovers who are not dirty-minded (by that, I mean those who have nothing against soapy scents :D) will surely find pleasure in this fragrance.

A test is still worthwhile for everyone.

Soft powder + soapiness infused with a dry pollinic mimosa, fizzy orange, touch of honey, and some sort of unpleasant cleaner-ish residue.

A scent like a white blouse or shirt. Bright, delicate floral, and very pleasing. I prefer the original version with iris.

Reminds me of the iris from the line, but the gentle mimosa and a hint of star anise soften the typical slightly dry distance. Love it!

very similar to Mimosa by Fragonard, although I find the latter much better. IfM = floral-spicy with an underlying urinous note.
