Great distinctive oriental with a wonderful freshness
The Khair line from the brand Paris Corner is really great. There are now 6 fragrances in this line, and all of them have convinced me so far. They are all "dupes" or inspired scents from lesser-known fragrances, at least not the usual suspects that already have x-dupes. This one is supposed to be a dupe of Gissah's "Imperial Valley (Eau de Parfum) | Gissah / قصة." This fragrance is slightly hyped, but I must admit that it has passed me by. It is also relatively hard to find, and you won't find it in common shops. If you do, it's usually quite expensive. This Khair line is quite affordable, and these releases cost only about 20€ per 100ml. If this is indeed similar to Imperial Valley, I can understand the slight hype. This fragrance has character and something special in its DNA, a wonderful oriental freshness. Even if you don't know this Gissah (like me), this is a great release that comes across as likable and stands out well from the usual daytime fragrances from the perfumery.
To enjoy this fragrance, you have to be able to handle louder and oriental notes, as this oriental note is quite "offensive" and clearly stands out from the crowd. It can be cool if you don't like these notes, but it can also be overwhelming.
The bottles and the overall appearance are quite good. These golden caps and the beautiful glass are convincing.
In the opening, you get a mix of fruity notes, including a fresh citrus from bergamot and zesty grapefruit. The fruit mix has a juicy quality, and the combination of citrus and fruit is convincing. The base DNA of the fragrance is thoroughly oriental, which you can already notice in the opening. This oriental note brings wonderful edges and facets to this freshness, creating a composition with recognizability. The heart note of floral notes (specifically oriental rose), patchouli, and cedarwood is quite harmonious, and the transitions flow smoothly from this fruity-citrus top note. Amber and musk provide a soft base, with a pleasant sweetness coming through. Overall, a great daily scent that offers a wonderful mix of freshness, oriental elements, wood, and a warm base. It can absolutely be worn as a daytime fragrance on milder and not warm days.
Performance is quite good. The sillage with this oriental DNA is really good at first and then becomes a bit milder, but remains at a good level. Longevity is satisfactory with a minimum of 8 hours. The fragrance is unisex, provided the oriental notes are desired.
In conclusion, I can say: A great oriental freshie that becomes a bit warmer towards the end. As for the similarity to the original, I can't say much, but it convinces me with this interesting DNA.
