Let Me Forget My Identity
It may be true that we often look for a ''sexy'' scent or want to smell ''extraordinary.''
And I must admit that I actually don't like smelling like everyone else (even if this rarely happens). That's how I ended up on endless scent journeys, endlessly searching for ''the fragrance.'' That may sound very crazy, but that's what we actually are. I mean, the average person I know (in my friend circle, for example) has a maximum of 3 perfumes at home.
Independence? Uniqueness? Specialness? No sign of that when you see these 3 fragrances with them. Understandable, of course.
A few years ago, I was also collecting sneakers, all brands included. Then I came to the conclusion, who is supposed to wear all these shoes??? And especially the rare ones, I didn't want to wear anyway, way too exquisite. Yeah, yeah Nike and ''exquisite'' Today: *facepalm*
Well, then I started with perfumes, wanting to own only 4-5, at most 10 perfumes. Dipped into the world of fragrances, came out as a giant. Wow, there is so much more to discover here than with shoes, and it’s also more fun! At least for me.

But I quickly realized that there are way too many good fragrances to ''only'' own 10. I was also put off by 1 Million and Co., too banal, too mainstream, etc. You know what I mean.
Then I tested my first niche fragrances and thought to myself, "What is this? Ugh."
Haha. Today I find niche even somewhat better than designer, but rather on par with both.

The regular 1 Million has been smelled too often, the Intense version is really good, but the Absolutely Gold is unbeatable. Why not?
Simply put, it is balanced between niche and designer. It deserves a different bottle. If Kilian had released this fragrance, it would be one of the most wonderful rose fragrances ever. That's how I see this scent.
To be honest, it reminds me of Dior Homme Parfum without the strong iris. Both have a kind of ''piercing'' vibe, especially if you spray too much.
But both are wonderful and, in terms of their original scents, the perfection of their kind!

Feeling-wise, it’s also like Incense Oud by Kilian for me; I simply can't identify any notes, it just smells indescribable. As if it were crypto-perfume^^. My system reports "no translation possible"...
It simply evokes emotions...the fragrance opens with a unique blood mandarin that is very noble and possibly artificial. But it is simply perfect.
The whole thing is dominated by rose absolute, which smells as if you were dipping your nose into liquid roses that have been poured with gold.
That's why for me it is also one of the most unusual rose fragrances. Quite different somehow.
The similarities to the regular 1 Million are given, but due to the finer overall impression, they are somewhat in the background. It doesn't smell toooo artificial, so while the comparison is naturally justified, in the air you have a different scent. So for many, it would be hard to recognize this one immediately on the street.

But why the comparison to sneaker collecting? Simply because it won't stop with sneakers; better models keep coming out, yet you still wear the mainstream shoes more often than the rarer ones. So in the shoe world, I was more of the ''1 Million type,'' even though I did own many rare shoes and beautiful shoes, I never wore them...just silly.
Here with perfumes, I have the mainstream at home, but wear the beautiful, complex fragrances (even if I mostly only have them as samples or decants) outside. That has simply become my way; I no longer wanted to be like the masses and especially walk around like that.

This fragrance here, however, convinces by being disguised as mainstream through its bottle, but could keep up with high-quality fragrances. I don't get a ''macho vibe''...
The drydown is not so rounded, but I don't care, the overall impression will always bring you compliments, Orient on mass...yes, and without real oud. Artificial in this regard.

Longevity and sillage are very decent, it should be noted that you should dose well and discreetly.
But about 8-10 hours were in there, even if not always as strong as at the beginning. The sillage for the first 4-4.5 hours is very good for me and not too loud.
A fragrance that you should definitely try. Also because it might be discontinued in the near future.
Here you smell good for society, even if I had to lay down my identity to test it. I didn't want anything to do with 1 Million anymore. It can go differently, but the bottle only deceives; afterward, no one will see that it's a different version of 1 Million. So don't shy away just because it's gold and kitschy; the content is worthy of identity and shows character!

Invested in Quality - Potent Ladykiller
Everything has been said about the original One Million... many love it, some hate it. It surely brings Paco Rabanne some of the biggest profits currently being made in the market. Personally, I always found the original great, although I cannot deny the tacky aftertaste from its overuse by the youth of this world. But good remains good, regardless of a fragrance's reputation. Here is the new, pure perfume variant of the scent - very similar to the regular 1 Million, yet even heavier and stronger, even if one could hardly imagine that, as the values were already skyrocketing there.

The new bottle is a tad more beautiful due to the complete gilding; however, those who found the original too over-the-top will find both the bottle and the scent outrageous, as it has simply been intensified. The ingredients and the composition, along with the scent transitions, appear unmistakably more expensive and high-quality. The price is also 50% higher. Who knows if it would have become a similar bestseller if Paco Rabanne had released One Million Absolutely Gold as 1 Million from the start - I think not. Although the quality has clearly improved and it deserves success more than the basic version.

It remains a fragrance best suited from September to April, very heavy, sexy, sensual, masculine - it still scores highly with almost all the women I know. Even though many say it has become somewhat worn out by now. This new variant could bring forth new, more luxurious facets of the scent. It could therefore also appease open haters of the original.

The sillage and longevity are at least as good as the Eau de Toilette, perhaps even stronger. Whether at a disco or in the wild - the wearer will be noticed, no question. And at least 12 hours of longevity - one can only speak of top values. Clearly more suited for those under 30 and far too penetrating for an office environment.

Cinnamon and cardamom are probably dominant, but 1 Million is one of those fragrances where I can hardly discern individual components - and with this optimized version, even less so. A very homogeneous scent progression and a sophisticated, unique fragrance! A pantydropper for eternity! For the target audience, it might be almost too chic and refined this time - I think they will continue to opt for the cheaper, lighter alternative.

Since it is not the original and only an evolution, combined with the high price - no higher rating than the original! Nevertheless, a very successful investment of the soaring profits!

Here it is! The first comment on this page about my very first fragrance. Where should I begin? I’ll start by embellishing my imagination. The thoughts that rush through my mind with this scent are by no means those I associate with a "normal" perfume. I imagine standing in the desert, lying in the shade under a mandarin tree. The branches sway in the wind, and as absurd as it sounds, this tree may only be there to bloom for me in the here and now. The wind carries a fine, unobtrusive sweet scent to my nose. To make it short, that’s exactly what goes through my mind when I smell this fragrance. I am inevitably reminded of a mandarin tree by the top notes. Strong and powerful, yet not overwhelming. The peppermint stays subtly in the background and contributes to a wonderfully fragrant combination. After a short time, I arrive at the heart notes. Rose absolute and cinnamon in a combination that makes this scent irresistible; perhaps that’s the secret of why women love to smell it on men. This heart note softens the strength of the fragrance. Now the scent feels completely gentle and subdued. On the journey to the base notes, I discover oud and iris. The end of a journey that is woody and spicy. The fragrance is consistently carried by the sweet cinnamon. After a solid 12 hours in the shade under the mandarin tree and a beautiful dream, I wake up and tell you the details:

2. Fragrance: A captivating combination. I wear this scent wonderfully in everyday life, as well as for festive occasions (birthdays or parties). Unfortunately, it is far too strong and noticeable for the office or a gala evening. The fragrance fits well with the spice and thanks to the sweet cinnamon in the autumn and winter season. With these fragrance components from Paco, everything merges into a pleasantly pure perfume that unmistakably makes clear what roots this tree has. Beware! Comparisons to the predecessor should not be made, as there lies a different bar in a sheikh's safe. 100%

3. Sillage: I was noticed in my surroundings. However, I received no negative feedback. I feel very comfortable wearing this fragrance and often sniff at my wrist. The right dose is 2 to a maximum of 4 sprays on the neck and/or wrist! From a distance, I was not smelled even once, which tells me I was right. A good balance with the right dosage! 70%

4. Longevity: After 12 hours, I fell asleep calmly and joyfully, dreaming of the next fragrance! 100%

5. Bottle: Tastes are known to be subjective. A gold bar with a high plastic content does not match my ideal vision. The dosing with this spray head is more bad than good. 50%

6. Price: €96 (100ml) in the perfumery is reasonable for this fragrance. The quality of the scent is in good relation to the price! Online, you can find additional offers and a cheaper variant. 80%

7. Conclusion: All in all, 1 Million Absolutely Gold is a pleasant, strong, and sweet men’s fragrance for autumn/winter with a good price-performance ratio. With the right dosage, it’s a nice everyday and festive scent. My love for this fragrance still lasts to this day and is only for younger men who enjoy sweet scents.

Very helpful Review 13
Absolutely magnificent!
For a year, I tested 1 Million EdT.
As is well known, opinions are divided on this fragrance that expanded explosively back then.
Often labeled as "tacky," it is certainly a scent that could spark debate.

Now I hold 1 Million Absolutely Gold in my hands,
my eyes sparkle, and with each minute of sniffing, I slowly but surely realize:
This is the most thought-out, controversial, refined, and also the best fragrance I have ever had the pleasure of owning!

The scent is unique!
There is nothing more to say about this Eau de Parfum.
The top note is a bomb, almost overwhelming but not too exaggerated for this "golden scent."
What remains is a warm heart note, where the cinnamon metaphorically screams: "I am present!"
It is insanely sweet, insanely floral - insanely GOOD!
No longer tacky, no, just elegant.
The base note, which harmonizes perfectly, is simply delightful.
Unique and with recognizability.

Furthermore, it offers an incredibly good projection with equally impressive longevity; what else can one expect from an EdP?!

Overall, I am left with a smile and much joy in writing these lines. For me, it is one of the (so far) absolutely outstanding perfumes of our time!

Higher, further, faster...
The principle is clear, liquid gold must shine or smell even more, so that even someone without a sense of smell can feel it in their nostrils. "1 Million Absolutely Gold," the name is an opulent program. A little decadence never hurts. Biatch!

Higher:

Since the first million isn't striking enough, let's gild the gold bar once more. It becomes even sweeter, spicier, and more floral (a million roses send their regards), yes, even pralines are now to be liquefied and incorporated into the Eau de Parfum. This is as wonderfully natural as processed cheese. Why be quieter when you can be louder? Baby, I need attention, take me! Who needs finesse when you have a sledgehammer at home?

Further:

The news of the first million has spread abruptly in the clubs of this world. However, it can go even faster, as proven by "1 Million Absolutely Gold." You’re practically already there before you’ve entered the room. "One Million" was yesterday; now the gold bar is getting another upgrade. What’s the cost of the world!?

Faster:

Given so much speed, one primarily gets full and annoyed even faster. It’s like garlic. Once you perceive the smell yourself, it’s even worse for the outside world. A terrible escalation of intrusive cruelties, practically a crime against human olfactory senses. "1 Million Absolutely Gold" is rather absolutely unnecessary, as the negative side effects of the original are amplified once again. A truly interesting base composition suffers a complete collapse here due to overkill.

The mentioned weaknesses are here, in the intrusive sense or in the truest sense of the word, simply strengths that can be even less tamed compared to the original. Well, anyone who wants to make a tasteless splash doesn’t need to make a clown of themselves elsewhere and drink themselves into a stupor senselessly; instead, they will be even better served here with one spray too many than with the first million. The house of Rabanne has managed this much more pleasantly and better - with the original or take the excellent "Black XS," which shows how such a creation can be very successfully composed in this direction. This once again gilded brew is, in any case, as unnecessary as a goiter and exudes dubious shine.

Today I got it and it's really good. I have all the flankers except the new one. With Prive the best and Intense. I don't care what everyone says. It's top.

Still the most beautiful, fruitiest, most intense, finest, most luxurious, glamorous interpretation of this wonderful classic. :)

Without direct comparison, I don't notice any major differences to the original: better H/S; noticeably leatherier from the heart; slightly transparent-woody.

You can definitely smell a strong rose-oud combination here, unlike the regular One Million, which has blood orange.
