Let Me Forget My Identity
It may be true that we often look for a ''sexy'' scent or want to smell ''extraordinary.''
And I must admit that I actually don't like smelling like everyone else (even if this rarely happens). That's how I ended up on endless scent journeys, endlessly searching for ''the fragrance.'' That may sound very crazy, but that's what we actually are. I mean, the average person I know (in my friend circle, for example) has a maximum of 3 perfumes at home.
Independence? Uniqueness? Specialness? No sign of that when you see these 3 fragrances with them. Understandable, of course.
A few years ago, I was also collecting sneakers, all brands included. Then I came to the conclusion, who is supposed to wear all these shoes??? And especially the rare ones, I didn't want to wear anyway, way too exquisite. Yeah, yeah Nike and ''exquisite'' Today: *facepalm*
Well, then I started with perfumes, wanting to own only 4-5, at most 10 perfumes. Dipped into the world of fragrances, came out as a giant. Wow, there is so much more to discover here than with shoes, and it’s also more fun! At least for me.
But I quickly realized that there are way too many good fragrances to ''only'' own 10. I was also put off by 1 Million and Co., too banal, too mainstream, etc. You know what I mean.
Then I tested my first niche fragrances and thought to myself, "What is this? Ugh."
Haha. Today I find niche even somewhat better than designer, but rather on par with both.
The regular 1 Million has been smelled too often, the Intense version is really good, but the Absolutely Gold is unbeatable. Why not?
Simply put, it is balanced between niche and designer. It deserves a different bottle. If Kilian had released this fragrance, it would be one of the most wonderful rose fragrances ever. That's how I see this scent.
To be honest, it reminds me of Dior Homme Parfum without the strong iris. Both have a kind of ''piercing'' vibe, especially if you spray too much.
But both are wonderful and, in terms of their original scents, the perfection of their kind!
Feeling-wise, it’s also like Incense Oud by Kilian for me; I simply can't identify any notes, it just smells indescribable. As if it were crypto-perfume^^. My system reports "no translation possible"...
It simply evokes emotions...the fragrance opens with a unique blood mandarin that is very noble and possibly artificial. But it is simply perfect.
The whole thing is dominated by rose absolute, which smells as if you were dipping your nose into liquid roses that have been poured with gold.
That's why for me it is also one of the most unusual rose fragrances. Quite different somehow.
The similarities to the regular 1 Million are given, but due to the finer overall impression, they are somewhat in the background. It doesn't smell toooo artificial, so while the comparison is naturally justified, in the air you have a different scent. So for many, it would be hard to recognize this one immediately on the street.
But why the comparison to sneaker collecting? Simply because it won't stop with sneakers; better models keep coming out, yet you still wear the mainstream shoes more often than the rarer ones. So in the shoe world, I was more of the ''1 Million type,'' even though I did own many rare shoes and beautiful shoes, I never wore them...just silly.
Here with perfumes, I have the mainstream at home, but wear the beautiful, complex fragrances (even if I mostly only have them as samples or decants) outside. That has simply become my way; I no longer wanted to be like the masses and especially walk around like that.
This fragrance here, however, convinces by being disguised as mainstream through its bottle, but could keep up with high-quality fragrances. I don't get a ''macho vibe''...
The drydown is not so rounded, but I don't care, the overall impression will always bring you compliments, Orient on mass...yes, and without real oud. Artificial in this regard.
Longevity and sillage are very decent, it should be noted that you should dose well and discreetly.
But about 8-10 hours were in there, even if not always as strong as at the beginning. The sillage for the first 4-4.5 hours is very good for me and not too loud.
A fragrance that you should definitely try. Also because it might be discontinued in the near future.
Here you smell good for society, even if I had to lay down my identity to test it. I didn't want anything to do with 1 Million anymore. It can go differently, but the bottle only deceives; afterward, no one will see that it's a different version of 1 Million. So don't shy away just because it's gold and kitschy; the content is worthy of identity and shows character!
