Spicy chocolate
Mainly spicy, dry, warm, moderately sweet. In short, spicy chocolate. Very chill in character, one could say low energy. A fragrance for cold weather and for nights. For me, the projection was notably weak initially. It basically never happens that I have to spray myself extra because I literally have trouble smelling the scent. One can mainly smell the spicy part - ginger and ginseng. It's hypnotic and slightly medicinal, and grabs you in a way that can be unpleasant. Metaphorically, it smells like glitter in your nose, a lot of tiny shiny sparkling particles. The sweet part with nice cocoa and caramel is hidden behind. At least the scent is not too sweet. It is very dry, though. I am not a fan of this composition, too much glitter.

In broader context, the medicinal-sweet setup makes Pure XS Night similar to Baccarat Rouge 540, its clones like Franck Olivier Pure Addiction, and Parfums de Marly Haltane. I don’t like this archetype and would prefer this perfume because it’s only partly into it.

The bottle fits the fragrance only in that it suggests that it's a night scent and that the letters are golden.

Sweet indeed
It’s not as “loud” as I was expecting it to be; the projection radius is about 2-3ft for the first 2 hours or so. For me I kind of get a “carbonated Versace Eros” feeling. Very sweet; almost a “lollipop” or “hard candy” vibe. Definitely for colder nights. If the heat is on, it would seem “sticky” because of that “hard candy” sensation it gives. Not something you can wear daily, or to work. I can see it working if you’re going to a party and you plan on drinking. That carbonated vibe is pretty persistent. Do NOT blind buy this. I personally like it, but it’s not for everyone. If you don’t like sweet scents like Versace Eros or Ultra Male, you will HATE it. This one is like you mixed those two together and carbonated the blend. The notes are mixed together in a way that you really cannot distinguish them individually; I think that’s where the “soda pop” feeling comes from. I’ll wear this occasionally; when I know it’s gonna be below 50 degrees, and I’m going out for a few drinks.

Edit: After wearing it out again it grew on me. Ultra Male is one of my favorites, and I think this one is like an improved version. They are VERY similar on my skin. The dry down is where this one wins (for me, personally). PXSN is more masculine in this phase, and a little bit “deeper” and more “dark”. I still love UM, but this one, in cold weather especially, leaves me feeling much more confident. It’s not as youthful. It’s like UM is the “sexy young boy”, and PXSN is the “experienced man who knows how”.

I’m definitely happy with this one, and I’m gonna rock it a little more.

The Shisha Bar Fragrance
"Pure XS Night" is a blend of "Le Male" and "Eros," only more aggressive, sweeter, with a caramel glaze and yet a fresh kick. Close to the original but a bit darker, a bit more mature, yet sometimes still a bit tacky, if I may put it harshly. I still kind of like it. It’s very delicious, super sweet, super youthful, surprisingly never too scratchy on my skin (with light application). If I were still going out (more often) and, for example, hitting the Cologne rings - this one would definitely be in the running. Because that’s where it belongs. In the nightlife and neon lights, at shisha bars and sex seekers, near clubs, twerkers, and vodka red bulls. However, after 30, it’s hard to incorporate it into everyday life...

"Pure XS Night" is a beast. An alpha male through and through. Although still naively 16, it has balls to the ground. One has to chuckle at that. "Pure XS Night" goes all-in when it comes to its artificiality. A caramelized sugar coating with a bit of myrrh and a lot of vanilla. It stands out, it wakes you up, it wants everything. Get rich or die trying. Just like the original: I like it. Bad taste done right. It has something trashy, something immature. Cheeky, frivolous, and unrefined. It embodies everything that men's designer fragrances have made big (and notorious and infamous) in this decade. In comparison, One Million from ten years ago seems almost like an elegant gentleman. Pure night, pure eroticism. Just fresh out of the slimy head of a half-wit. And that, of course, has neither style, experience, skill, nor real sex appeal. Nevertheless: if you can wear it with confidence and a sweet nose (discreetly dosed in the best case), and have stayed young at heart, then go for it. Why not. A few years ago, I would have certainly liked it very much. It’s not embarrassing. At least if you know how to wear it. Right outfit, right location, right clientele. More cheap than affordable. But you can definitely wear it with a wink. Extroverted and anti-elegant. A young one, a wild one, an egomaniac. It has something of syrupy mint.

Bottle: thick glass, nice color gradient, great sprayer. Youth meets kitsch kisses elegance.
Sillage & Longevity: a bomb for club and bar. Hardly stops. 9 hours. More likely longer.

Conclusion: a typical Paco Rabanne, with all its pros and cons. Viscous, sweet, youthful, playful, sexy (to a certain extent). And all of that squared. For the target audience, a synthetic caramel bomb that does exactly what it’s supposed to do: stick, attract attention, stand out, sweeten everything and everyone. And in the best case, "drop panties." Just be careful that those panties aren’t adorned with Hello Kitty and the like...

She wore blue velvet
I have to say that I initially classified it as a women's fragrance - possibly still unisex.

Although I wouldn't mind perceiving it on an elegant, interesting gentleman.

I see myself gliding across the dance floor in a midnight blue velvet dress with my talented dance partner - musically accompanied by the evergreen: She wore blue velvet ...

Peter holds me securely in his arms and we enjoy a soft, sensual Slow Fox.
Sweet longing is awakened - by XS and the song.

I snuggle up to my dancer and the fragrance embraces us.
Nothing throws us off beat.
Sensual closeness surrounds us - but only in dance are we one.

Afterwards, we leave the dance floor as good friends - leaving behind the aura of sweet longing.

And each of us carries the thoughts that are ultimately free, - and this deep fragrance home with us.

IN YOUR FACE, PACO!!
I received this "fragrance" in the form of a sample at a time when I still thought that the scents available at Douglas and Co. were the ultimate. Ah... I was so ignorant. Anyway, a few days later, I found myself rummaging through my small collection before work, looking for a suitable scent. Among the limited number of bottles, there were also some samples lying around, which you typically get more or less voluntarily when purchasing a bottle. My gaze fell on a dark blue, gold-labeled piece of cardboard, and in my almost childlike naivety, I thought to myself, "Oh come on, what the heck"...... big mistake!! In hindsight, it would have been better if the sample had fallen behind the cabinet and *STAYED THERE FOREVER* to rot. One press, two presses, three presses and *SLAP*. The penetrating, overly sweet stench hit me like an uppercut, comparable to the famous steam hammer blow à la Bud Spencer (I vaguely remember hearing a devilish, evil laugh as I went down). Once I regained consciousness, I thought only, "Okay!? This is not so good," but it couldn't get worse, and you can't humiliate someone who's already down, or force them to their knees. Ah... once again so ignorant. Because this brew was still going to develop into something undefinable, extremely annoying, and discomfort-inducing, which, to my dismay, lasted a very long time. Accordingly, my workday was "lovely." I like to compare that day to a long bus ride on a hot day, where you have to sit next to a stinky guy with no chance of escape. I've never wished so much for a cold and the accompanying stuffy nose. I was just glad when I finally got home and could free myself from that stuff under the shower, in the fetal position, crying, with the help of very hot water. By the way, I burned the contaminated clothing and hired a priest to exorcise the evil from the ashes, and the rest of the sample is now in a nuclear waste storage facility. So, as you might have noticed, I don't find this scent very good at all, and I would pay double the purchase price to slap Paco Rabanne for this, but at least I now have enough words from this experience to write a comment here.

Thanks for reading. :)

What a mess! What a sweet and synthetic mess! Sugar, myrrh, sugar, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla ... and sugar!

it tones down the sparkling opening and adds a chocolate vibe. It don't really like it as much as the OG

Spicy in the opening, masculine and then in the dry-down turns sweet, lots of Vanilla, „Myrrh”, a touch of cacao and a spicy tone.

Though not listed as a fragrance note here, ginseng gives it a unique opening you don't smell often. Addictively sweet...very sweet.

This is a perfect night out fragrance. Great longevity and performance for me a slightly lighter version of ferragamo uomo signature.

Awfully sweet mush, could be a celebrity scent - maybe Justin Bieber's. He could wear it so even the blind can hate it ;)

Exaggerated and harshly synthetic, it scratches and stings the nose. BASF must have cleaned house. I need fresh air...

This really depresses me because the longevity and sillage are inversely related to the quality of the brew.
