After more than 20 years,
Rochas Man Intense (2002) is back. At least with the color of the fragrance, the bottle and of course the name. For me, the Rochas Man Intense was already a small youth love. I did not have in my collection, but I was already in love with this sample I had of this version. Unfortunately, this Intense version was no longer available when I earned my own money. The original
Rochas Man Eau de Toilette wandered nevertheless into my collection, since this is also really good and also very much in this direction goes. The DNA is very similar, the Intense was more delicious and also a bit gourmandig-sweet.
Now it is back at least visually and from the name. Sometimes only marketing, especially since the pyramids can already differ greatly. A bit "renovated" this Intense version was also, but goes more in the direction of Intense than the original.
As a new release, this was clearly overpriced with around 70€ a 100ml. Since I would rather grab the original, since this is always available at fair prices. But even still some months this new Intense is strongly reduced. One gets this around the 30€, where one can access without hesitation. Who finds a slightly sweeter version of Rochas Man tempting will find here.
Unlike the original, the official pyramid is very slimmed down and kept small. Coffee was exchanged for cappuccino which comes across very pleasant-gourmandig. The vanilla makes this cappuccino really nice and sweet. Not sticky-sweet, but just delicious and pleasant. The tart coffee cappuccino note is a great tart contrast to this sweetness, which go great together. Also, that lavender sweetness Rochas Man is known for is very nicely noticeable, especially in the opening. Not slaying, especially since the sillage is not really beastmode either. A subtle woody nuance is also present, but rather in the background. The base is rather subtle with a pleasant sweet-woody cappuccino note.
Performance is so-so, not really Intense. Right not for a Gourmand where you could have gotten out much more. For the price around 30 € but okay and a great option for in between. Sillage is 2-3 hours quite good, then the fragrance weakens significantly.
For fans of coffee gourmands already a great option. Who owns the original Rochas Man does not necessarily need this flanker now. I find him thoroughly pleasant and by the not too strong sillage also versatile.
