Very unique and special gourmand with top notch quality!
OMG!!! The most unique gourmand fragrance I ever smelled. I just finished the whole 2ml sample within few days and I just miss it so much that I have to get a full bottle immediately, which I already did and it should be on its way. I’ve heard many good things about it for a long time and I was willing to blind buy it if I can find a discounted one from reputable sellers because I just love gourmand so much but I just never could find one. I finally got a sample to find out if I really love it and if it worth the high price tag. I ended up gave up on waiting for a discount bottle and just went to get one from their official website because I just love it this much.

At the first spray, the strong buttery opening was a little overwhelming but after couple minutes the buttery note would tone down a lot and then it starts to smell very much like French patisserie. Particularly a croissant. It’s not the cloying sugary sweet though, which I appreciate. I love gourmand sweet but I don’t like sugary cloying sweet. The sweetness is just right. Also once the buttery accord tones down, I actually love its perfect amount of the buttery and that compliment the whole vibe of it. Interestingly, I can smells the Oud in the dry down but still maintain the gourmand pastry vibe. Not animalic or barnyard at all. This is surely a masterpiece.

Performance wise, it stays closer to my skin but not an intimate skin scent at the same time. I would say it projects about 2 feet from skin until 6-7 hours mark then start fading to a skin scent. It has amazing longevity though. It lasts 12+ on my perfume eating skin. My skin tends not to grip perfumes very well (at least 2 hours less than other people). I know it’s very expensive but I do think it worth the price; the uniqueness of the fragrance, the quality ingredients you can smell from it, the performance and the bottle are all at the top notch. Especially I personally just love this scent.

The most unique gourmand ever made
Unisex

I had a difficult relationship with this special unique so called “gourmand” for long time. I loved it from the beginning, that was sure but I needed to get to know her better. I’m just not so big fan of gourmands - I like many and love some a lot but I don’t want to smell myself like many of those. There is just few gourmands which deserves the place in my collection and Sweetie Aoud is one of those.

Sweetie Aoud is not so obvious gourmand since the gourmand note is “patisserie accord” which is not any concrete food. That’s why I love it a lot. It’s rather a feeling and a smell which is a whiff of a French or Italian cafe full of delicious pastries made mainly from butter dough. The smell is a littlle bit sweet and soft buttery but the genious blend gives in the same time such a fresh vibes which I find extremely interesting.

There is a really herbal fresh opening with Bergamot and Artemisia and quickly after that follows Patisserie Accord which is the strongest during the first 30 minutes. It’s so realistic that you can just close your eyes and you can imagine yourself in front of that glass in patisserie choosing something delicious to eat with your Latte. Rose is only supportive note here and Cistus is barely detectable but those tunes down the sweetness. After this starts the main show! Next the basenotes take over your senses and the buttery note melts beautifully together with spicy, aromatic and earthy notes, Frankincense and Aoud being the prominent ones. Like all Rojas this juice is so well blended that it’s very difficult to separate notes but that makes even the gourmand perfume luxurious, polished and charming.

This is simply a stunning perfume for wintertime!

Buy it? Or not?
There is probably no fragrance with which I think so often whether I should finally buy it. The Partisserie - accord really keeps what it promises! A heavenly fragrance that inevitably makes the water run together in the mouth. And that combined with noble other components together a high-quality and unique perfume result. At the beginning I thought there would not be many occasions to wear this extraordinary perfume. But with my 2nd tester I have now also empty I noticed that solang it is not too warm you can wear this fragrance more often. It always goes down well and is a super icebreaker because you are really often asked what you wear. All in all a super unique, good smelling and long lasting fragrance. But unfortunately it is really expensive. But as soon as I see him times on offer I'll probably afford a bottle and solang make a tester after the other of it empty.

Full broadside...
Finally, my bottling for testing has arrived. I was already so excited about this fragrance.

As so often with me, I have approached the original via a fragrance twin. The fragrance twin has pleased me so well that I have forced my husband to test it too. After all, it is unisex - a fragrance that we can both wear. That was my ulterior motive. Thus, when the bottling of the original arrived by mail, he could not shirk, but had to try him too.

Not that you think I would have exerted any pressure here. You must know that before Corona, my husband had a larger fragrance collection than I did. But because of the lockdown, I overtook him with waving flags especially fragrance flags.

Since we unfortunately only live in a small apartment, I always test my perfumes or fillings in the living room. Then the whole room smells of all kinds of fragrant and less fragrant essences. Which, I admit, can sometimes be a little exhausting on the nose. Just a little bit exhausting. Teeny tiny. Sooo small.

But now to the much anticipated fragrance: Tatatataaaaaaaaaaaaa (drum roll):

Sprayed once and breathe deeply ....

... immediately I get the full broadside. Man oh man, is the fierce. Honestly, from the top note I recognize none of the listed notes. Also the heart note is completely skipped with me. It goes straight into the base notes. Of which I can identify oud, the woods, cardamom, incense and patchouli.

I can certainly understand the comparisons of the fragrance on Parfumo with the smell in a patisserie. It also smells on my skin like in a bakery. But unfortunately not so pleasant after sweet cakes, but here clearly rancid butter was used for baking. What a shock.

In addition, the damn baker has also baked the cake too long in the oven. Because when Rausholen first of all a gush of burnt smoke with out of the hot oven. Phew. What a disappointment.

I switch to the wrist of my husband. Also here. A cracker, but not quite as unpleasant as on my skin. Here, too, the oud is held only with difficulty by the balsamic fragrance notes in check. Plus that patchouli smelling of dirty earth. Slowly I get the feeling that for me "Sweetie Aoud" is absolutely no women's fragrance. So nothing with unisex.

With my husband he also smells very strong and powerful. He himself can not associate a bakery or patisserie with this perfume. Instead, it smells for him, after the first bustle has settled, after sweet-tart incense. I think the balsamic and spicy notes come through better on him. It makes the scent seem a bit softer. Of course, the sweet notes that slowly combine with it also help. But the fragrance does not become soft, just a little bit softer.

At least the rancid butter smell on my wrist fades into the background. What remains is a sweet-smoky note with emphasis on smoky. Not at all mine. I just can't do anything with oud. At least this time I'm spared the fecal smell of oud that I've smelled in other fragrances. A little progress.

Still, I'm sorry. Even if I oute myself here as a philistine who kicks the high art of perfumery with feet, I like the fragrance twin better. Probably because he turns out sweeter and more pleasing than the original and thus perhaps not as artfully woven. For this he can also be worn really unisex.

Of course, this is just my personal opinion. Everyone sees this differently, due to the different scent preferences and individual skin chemistry, which makes perfumes smell different on each skin. And that is also good so. Would be otherwise boring if everyone loves or rejects the same perfumes. The sillage and durability are unfortunately very good.

My husband also can not get excited about the original. But I think that this fragrance can inspire enough fans. We are just not one of them.

Oud and sweet notes, can that go well ?
Sweetie Aoud came to me today as a bottling. Sweetie Aoud was one of the Rojas I wanted to test for a long time. Today was Sweetie Aoud so my fragrance of the day. The expectations were of course very high. UVP 550€ for 50 Ml are of course an announcement. Here the fragrance must really convince me so that there is a good rating here. Fortunately, Sweetie Aoud has managed to convince me.

Sweetie Aoud has numerous fragrance notes in the fragrance pyramid, although I must admit that 80% of them can not recognize at all. For me, there are merely the following notes: Oud, amyris, sweet notes, cardamom, woods and some patchouli. I just can't make out the other notes. I can't detect any nasty smoky notes, or annoying spices, thankfully.

The shelf life is a good 12 hours, in the good to very good range. The silage is rather restrained, but for a good 7-8 hours at an arm's length perceptible, then Sweetie Aoud quickly becomes skin.

I would buy Sweetie Aoud, but only if there is once again a good offer at an online store. The Roja UVP is clearly too high.

Here the combination of oud and sweet notes has succeeded perfectly. A Gourmand with Oud is something rather rare, which also often does not really work.

Sound gourmand fragrance. Sweet, delicious and strong oudy at the beginning, becomes later slightly sour (with remaining weak gourmand note).

Looking at the notes I wouldn't expect that, but it smells like blueberry croissants freshly taken from oven inside a pastry shop.

Initially slightly boozy, this warm and creamy oriental spicy/sweet Gourmand, settles to a gentle and dry leathery-woody base. More feminine

Incomparable scent. Caramel sweetness, oriental spices and butter croissants in the background. Sounds weird but surprisingly wearable

A dark woody scent with a yeasty character. Powerful earthy-woody oud right from the start, with bits of sweetness picked from other notes.
