Charming Cassis

AugustA finds a blackcurrant here - once again. Well, then I'll just test blackcurrants this summer. All of them.
This one is not too tart and has a slightly sweet-powdery veil. After the very first impression, there is a fruity transition to jasmine, green-fresh. The floral-powdery overall scent remains until the end, the fruit quickly fades away. Instantly gone from the mouth. But the matte black skin still clings to the fingers.
A likable character and pleasant to wear. Uncomplicated, but not trivial. A young charming smile.

Where are you?

You briefly blink at me directly: herb fresh fruity
Then you pull back, remaining somewhere in the aura.
I have to get close to your friends to perceive their lovely-powdery floral notes.
They don’t like that, they leave again.
Your other buddies don’t show up at all.
I look around, where are you?

This all takes place over about an hour. The blackcurrant accompanies me only as an aura at most. However, this lasts relatively long for a top note and for this fragrance in general. I only know that there are such things as heart notes because I once held my wrists under my nose right after spraying. I can’t confirm either vanilla or patchouli from the base. I spray multiple times a day and don’t feel like I’m carrying a scent bomb.

B u t a n d n e v e r t h e l e s s: I feel good with “Atropa Belladonna.” Something is happening in my olfactory subconscious that brings me joy and comfort, driving me to the shelf where the bottle is multiple times a day.

no poison, just invigorating freshness!

"Atropa Belladonna" is simply the poison of the deadly nightshade, called atropine.
I cannot understand why Shay & Blue chose this name for such a summery light fragrance; it is not toxic at all.
Rather cheerful and invigorating.

Just like "Framboise Noire," "Atropa Belladonna" is a fragrance of clear lines: without frills, without blurred contours.
These two fragrances remind me a bit of various Jo Malone creations, which also carry this clarity and are therefore extremely pleasant to wear in summer.

I became acquainted with and fell in love with the tart aroma of blackcurrant in Shiseido's "Vocalise." Since then, I have a special fondness for it.
In nature, these fruits, which usually appear solitary and not in clusters like their red relatives, taste and smell a bit chemical.
In the fragrances, I could always perceive this tart freshness, which can be equated with coolness.
That’s why I like them so much when the thermometer shoots up and every bit of coolness is welcome.

"Atropa Belladonna" also greets you first with this fruity freshness.
Jasmine and the white daffodil, two flowers that are native to different seasons, complement each other wonderfully here.
The slightly "stinky" white large-flowered jasmine (I still like it) and the purity of the white bulb flower together with the black round fruit create a surprising but very pleasant mixture.
This floral fruity freshness gains a very feminine touch through the creamy-warm, highly fragrant Bourbon vanilla. Until now, the unisex note predominated for me.
The erotic heaviness of the vanilla seamlessly and fluidly connects with the golden glow of patchouli.
This blend of fruity-floral freshness and warm erotic nuances is what makes the charm of this summery fragrance.

The clarity exudes a cooling freshness - it is simply refreshing.
There is nothing powdery or creamy here; no, this fragrance is as clear as a sparkling drop of water, a cheerful little brook joyfully jumping over the stones.
The longevity is that of an average summer fragrance; a re-spraying now and then is necessary or even desirable.
The new burst of fragrance blends exceptionally well with the fading touch that pleasantly caresses the skin.
"Atropa Belladonna" is also a fragrance that works very well as a "hair mist." A few spritzes on damp hair and the freshness pleasantly sways with every movement of the hair.

After "Framboise Noire," "Atropa Belladonna" is the second fragrance I have had the pleasure of getting to know.
Both have convinced me and will surely accompany me for some time.
It is worth having made their acquaintance.
