From 0 to 3rd Place / The Iris Bomb / A Great Love...
Hello everyone,
Today I would like to write something about my "new arrival" and introduce it to you in a few words.
As a long-time Iris lover, testing this was indirectly a must for me, and since I really, really like "Purple Rain (Attar) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," the test was indirectly a MUST for me, but I knew that it would be very difficult and also quite expensive. Because there aren't exactly many of them...
What started as a simple test... turned into a PURCHASE and from that emerged a great LOVE, and I will try to convey to you why I think and acted this way!
About the fragrance:
At the very beginning (the first 10 seconds), the scent is fruity-sweet like "Ottoman Ambergris Assam Sultan | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," but after about 20 seconds, almost nothing of that remains, and the main character of the fragrance enters the stage, the (powdery) Iris.
It is a slightly dusty, dry, and minimally green scent, and I am sooooo grateful that it is exactly like that because a true Iris must have this character, and if it lacks these properties, it is not a real Iris... If you look at how Iris oil is produced, you quickly understand what I mean.
After about 25 to 30 minutes, the Oud slowly makes its appearance; however, in my opinion, the scent is not woody, not even remotely, but the Oud contributes its characteristic and then fades away again - you notice something ethereal or slightly menthol-like and almost a cooling sensation.
After that, you can occasionally sense how "Purple Rain (Attar) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" greets you, and overall I recognize a lot of scents here from the production (sometimes more, sometimes less). The "Iris Ghalia (Parfum) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" in various versions, the "Purple Rain (Attar) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," and even with some reservations, I find the "Iris Blanc | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" again, and just when I smell the earthy and slightly dusty Iris here, I also think of my old "Irisss | XerJoff."
An Iris fragrance with an oriental touch, an ethereal/menthol note (briefly), a creamy musk in the background, a very, very subtle spicy sweetness - and the COLA vibes are also present. Even if less than perhaps expected...
It immediately fought its way into my heart - but why?
I really like certain Iris scents, and when they are made with good quality = I am all in. And since this is somewhat a small fusion of my favorite scents..., I indirectly knew which direction it would take, and with certain scents and directions (e.g., Iris), you can rely on EO!
But why do I give the scent only a 9.5 ... and not a 10?
That's not so easy to describe. I give it a 9.75 out of 10 because it is not simply - daily wearable like, for example, my "Iris Blanc | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," and the brutal price of well over €2000 for a full 50ml is also something I find difficult to overlook... purely from the perspective of perfume art, it is a "SAFE" 10/10, but the price...
When does one wear something like this?
On special occasions!
Daily usable?
Rather not, partly from a financial standpoint, and it would lose its charm...
When:
September to April/May
Longevity!
Leaves nothing to be desired, and anything under 9 hours is utopian!
Sillage:
Essentially typical EO and typical Iris scents.
Why?
EO - in the first hour, it is very present!
Typical Iris - after that, they operate in a bubble.
In general...
The "Purple Rain: Trifecta | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" has a special charm - something mystical and mysterious, which probably comes from the amber used and surrounds you like an aura that makes you turn around, one that you look up to, one you want to be surrounded by.
One small - big tip:
Never evaluate a high-priced + high-quality fragrance solely based on how it smells at the spray head. Because this image is not truthful! It smells completely different in connection with the skin. I often say this - I know, but this is extreme!
If the opportunity arises - test it,
you probably won't regret it!
On the topic of price:
I find it ultra modest to evaluate something like this in terms of price, as the products offered by EO are basically in the ULTRA - High-end - Niche - Artisan - Luxury - League, and therefore I find it incredibly modest to actually say something in that regard. Yes, there are perfumes and oils with prices that some cars cost...., but everyone has to decide for themselves whether that is WORTH it or not - that's how I see the topic!
And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
_______
P.S.
On the skin, "Purple Rain: Trifecta | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is one of the most beautiful scents I have ever experienced, and if you love Iris as much as I do and also like "Purple Rain (Attar) | Ensar Oud / Oriscent," then feel free to test it...
