Unassuming fresh violet leaf
La Fenice is named after the famed Gran Teatro La Fenice opera hall in Venice, which the flagship Merchant of Venice store is very close to. It also means "phoenix," the mythical bird that dies, bursts into flame, only to be reborn from the ashes. La Fenice Pour Homme and La Fenice pour Femme seem kind of like the "signature"/everyday male and female scents from The Merchant of Venice, and as such they are more mass-appealing and "safe" than the rest of their collection.
La Fenice opens with a peppery violet leaf that is similar to Fahrenheit Eau de Toilette but a bit fresher. The drydown is a mainstream easygoing cedarwood/amber. Nothing to really write home about, it's fairly well blended, performance isn't the best. I think there are cheaper options that are probably better than this, Fahrenheit itself being one of them.
