How would Sigmund have found it?
Bella Freud is the great-granddaughter of Sigmund Freud, the godfather of psychoanalysis. What I personally think of him is another matter. At least he set some stones rolling in psychology and uncovered a few Oedipal issues.
Bella Freud is an English fashion designer based in London. I navigated through her website and find her creations quite appealing and wearable. They are actually sporty-classic. Nothing groundbreaking. Everything has been seen somewhere before. Still, I assume that the fashion is of special quality.
Well, anyway, as is customary for a proper fashion label, a few signature perfumes had to be created as well. There’s nothing wrong with that. Chanel, Dior, Lanvin, Lagerfeld, etc., etc. have done it this way, along with jewelry and watch manufacturers, the baker next door, and footballers, etc.
But to the scent. 1970 starts off subtly. Pleasant, classic, like Miss Freud's fashion. Actually, with spicy-floral, everything has already been said.
But after a while, 1970 becomes more interesting. A hint of cake spice, a slight smoky note. The rose opening quickly fades away.
1970 remains close to the skin, pleasant, soft, and agreeable. Like Bella Freud's fashion. Nothing groundbreaking, no innovation, but nice and wearable. Perhaps Sigmund would have said she shouldn't overdo it, so that great-grandpa doesn't get upset.
