Unusual fragrance from the early 2000's and nothing like I imagined from the note pyramid...

I got my decant from a friendly fellow fumehead, who is very fond of it. I found a few reviews here and there online, but none of them really described the scent. Personally, I don't get any mandarine, bergamot or patchouli from this. The opening is a blast of myrtle, cardamom and nutmeg - dark, sharp, peppery-eucalyptus-like (probably due to the myrtle) and almost bordering on ammonia. I don't recall having tried other scents where the myrtle is so prominent.

The heart reminds me of the powdery tar and rubber notes from Bvlgari Black with some soapiness due to the violet. The drydown is musky with cardamom and sandalwood, inoffensive and bears a little resemblance to the drydown of Body Kouros, but not as sweet. Projection and longevity are pretty average.

Apart from the opening, which is unfortunately way too sharp for me, it's an okay scent but IMO not at all worth the crazy prices I've seen on the Bay.

No, this is not about a Formula 1 race! ;P

Versace's "Jeans Couture" for men is described as spicy-fresh, although most people might envision something more "citrusy-woody-fresh."

It is a typical men's fragrance that smells fresh-woody, yet somehow special and a bit unique. I find the name very fitting; it actually reminds me of a French model presenting the latest jeans trends on the runway, and then celebrating with champagne with friends afterward.

Young, likable, attractive, light-footed - but still not intrusive, making it a fragrance you enjoy having around.

Ironically, the scent actually reminds me a bit of sparkling wine: that fizz and slightly sour freshness... with a hint of sweetness. For me, it's unique. Really well balanced!

I find this little masterpiece truly special, yet so timeless and easy to wear.

The fragrance is most comparable to the vintage version of "Abercrombie & Fitch - Fierce," although Jeans Couture is clearly distinguishable - it's not a clone... more like a drinking buddy! ;P

To round out the overall picture, I would like to add:
Please do not imagine a perfect, multi-layered niche fragrance - because Jeans Couture is not that at all!
It hardly has a development for me, so in the opening, you will smell about 90% of what you will still smell the next day.
(And you will, the longevity is really good for me...)
It settles a little, becomes a bit more relaxed, and more of an aura - meaning, the sparkling attitude pulls back a little.
But it always remains very present; I smell it on myself much more than many current mainstream fragrances!

I will sell one of the two bottles, as I bought two in my shopping frenzy a year ago. ':D
(By the way, the bottle is really pretty, even though it's made of plastic, which makes it feel significantly cheaper from the moment you pick it up.)

But now I will enjoy it again :) The wearing experience that Versace conveys here has really captivated me.
Even though I actually don't drink, haha! :D

Peppery Sweet

I'll kick things off here and write a short, concise comment about this fragrance, which apparently no one owns!?

This scent is "no longer" produced, so I'm surprised to see the entry here stating that it is still being made!? It can only be found here and there on eBay.

The bottle is a sight to behold, made entirely of silver plastic and adorned with dozens of sparkling stones.

I don't quite remember the scent notes, but it somehow resembles Emporio Armani or Rococo For Men by Joop! - just a bit sweeter overall.

I had Jeans Couture Man a few years ago and would really like to have it again ;)
