A (Mostly) Solid Scent for a Great Value
Everyone coming here knows that Club de Nuit Intense Man is a clone of Creed Aventus.

However, I will not review CDNIM as how it compares to Creed Aventus. Instead, I will review it based on its own merits.
----

The opening smell is the major point of critique. The artificial lemon in the opening smells like a household cleaner, with a minuscule hint of pineapple. Some people may like it (or even love it), but I dislike it. If the opening was tamer with a herbal note such as lavender, mint, or sage, it would go over better.

(Update on January 6, 2023: After letting the scent sit for a few months, the harshness of the lemon opening is gone, leaving a citrusy-sweet opening that is significantly more appealing.)

However, when one waits for about 15-20 minutes, the lemon aspect dies down, and the scent becomes great. The floral and smoky heart combine with musk and patchouli to form a spectacular masculine fragrance that shines without being overwhelming.

----

Also, I must discuss the bottle, which is cheap. In addition to looking tacky, the plastic peeled after owning it for a few months, and shows signs of wear and tear; something I don't see with any other bottles I currently own.

Also, the logo tag became unglued, and the chain connecting the logo tag to the bottle actually broke.

----

In terms of performance, CDNIM is exceptional.

The smell lasted beyond 10 hours. That is amazing longevity.

The fragrance also projects at a strong level. If you walk by someone on the street, or stay in one place for a decent amount of time, someone will discover the fragrance.

That said, if someone is trying to be subtle, CDNIM EDP isn't it. People are going to know it's you.

----

The contentious opening and the notoriously cheap bottle, are potential deal-breakers. Likewise, people who like more subtle scents may want to pass on this one.

That said, CDNIM provides outstanding value with a fragrance that is versatile, durable, and usable through most the year. The fact that it is affordable is a bonus.

(Update on January 6, 2023: The scent is significantly better, to the point I would currently rate it a 8.5/10. However, it is unrealistic to have someone wait months for a fragrance to reach its full potential.)

(Update on April 10, 2024: I eventually gave away the bottle. While it was a solid scent, I used it less in favor of milder scents.)

Not an Aventus clone
When I first bought this bottle it was a chemical mess, everything was way too harsh, especially the citrus opening. A year later, shit smells nice.
We open with a sharp generic citrus, with a pineapple sweetness.
The mid is where we differ from Aventus. Aventus has that distinct woody accord, while CDN has a more floral, although masculine mid. There is a touch of wood (cedar?) but i comes off as mostly light floral.
The base feels like an even blend of musk , clean patchouli and a hint of vanilla.
This is not an Aventus clone, and I feel it shouldn’t market itself as such. This fragrance has enough merit to stand on its own two legs, and the quality to price ratio is amazing.

Smells like a artificial lemon but gets the job done
Scent: Bought with the wrong understanding of the fragnance. I wanted this to be a masculine smoky scent but instead it turned out to be a greenish citrus scent. The first time I smelled it, I wanted to throw it away. After my nose has developed I can say that it is ok. The scent is very synthetic and you can tell that it is cheap. The opening is very harsh wich was the reason I originally despised this scent. From the middle you can smell a little bit of the birch but otherwise I really don't get the rose or jasmine. The bottom notes mainly smell like musk and a hint of vanilla. Overall it smells like a lemon that has a sharp edge to it. The scent obviously copies creed aventus and from all the clones I have smelled I would say that this is the best one. It has the resemblance of creed but CDN gives it a more harsh and sharp smell. It is definently worth the money. I have been using this as a blind reach because of the versatility it has. You can use this basically around the year if you just adjust the amount of sprays to the warmth of the weather. Not good but not bad either. 7/10

Longevity: The longevity is very good for a fresh scent. I use five sprays and it does the job well. One time I applied it in the morning and the next day after taking two showers my friend noticed it at the gym and I had not reapplied the fragnance. 9/10

Sillage: Like the longevity the sillage is good. I once used this in the morning at the living room and a relative of mine had smelled the scent from upstairs wich was 4 meters uppwards from the living room. You will get noticed very well with this scent from a 3 meters range for 5 hours of using this scent. After that I get a solid 1-0.5m of sillage till the fragnance runs out.

Overall. Best creed aventus clone and has better a performance then aventus. Will get you noticed and you don't have to use more than 5 sprays at a time. I and my friend who tried it out for the first time hated this scent but after a little development in my oppinion the smell is like a generic lemon. Not what i imagined when I was ordering the fragnance but don't regret buying it cause of the price point. 6.5/10

The Limited Edition EDP bottle is best
The Limited Edition EDP bottle is best, in my opinion. Not as smokey in the dry down, not as chemically suffocating in the openning and lasts and performs superb. While side by side, you can always tell the Aventus is the better fragrance (duh!), due to cost and performance consideration this one might be your best bet. I own both, and sometimes I prefer to wear CDNIM EDP as I need to use less (2 sprays vs 4-5 sprays with 2016 Aventus batch) and it is more noticeable after 3-4 hours. Also, it is a whole lot cheaper :) I always get more compliments with CDNIM but I believe that's because you can smell it 3-4 hours later while Aventus (unless you have pre-2014 formulation) sits much closer to the skin. I have not smelled the large 200 ml EDP CDNIM but the 100 ml special edition is definitely worth considering if performance is important to you. Make no mistake, Aventus is still unbeatable to me (even the recent formulations) as far as quality and complexity!!!

The Drydown Is that 10/10 old smoky aventus
The opening is synthetic, sour. Not as bad as ppl say but not great. However THAT DRYDOWN!!!!!!! Is godly and is exactly what old Aventus is like. Smoky, fruity, earthy, fresh. Masculine and addictive

The performance is great (I get about 8 hours with good projection) and ive gotten compliments with it. One of the best fresh scents you can buy right now

For the price you cant beat this. Especially if you let it sit for a few months you’ll have aventus in its prime.

This is a very nice cheap fragrance with very strong longevity and silage but if you don’t like synthetic you then you shouldn't buy it.

Not a luxurious opening like Vibrant Leather (Zara), but the drydown is good.
Projection and longevity are ok.
Good for your money.

Slightly smokier Aventus with a pleasant (albeit synthetic) smell and long lasting performance. For the money you can’t knock it.

The synthetic nature of this has worn me down. I can’t do it anymore. Reaching for the real juice from now on.

The lemon top note is sharp and not for everyone. However, once the heart notes hit within 15 minutes, the smell is amazing!

I had the Aventus (batch 2014) and I would say that when drying, the CDNI is much better
