Liwa Widian 2017 Extrait de Parfum

Have you seen the movie “Split”? In this movie the main character has multiple personalities (around 23) and one moment he is a cute little child and the next he is a cold blood criminal. This is what happens with this perfume. It is a complex perfume that changes a lot with time.

The opening is an experience. I haven’t felt this way since I opened Black Phantom by Kilian. So, at the opening I got an intense spicy smokey scent that got me so addicted, that I kept smelling and smelling it again, trying to understand what I smell. After some time, it became a beautiful oriental slightly spicy and slightly sweet scent. After that, the spiciness disappeared and I got a sweet woody- oudy smell so heartwarming. At the end (and I mean the next day), there was a sweet scent left similar to Baccarat Rouge 540. So BR540 is one personality of the perfume but at the late dry down of it. And if you want my opinion (well, you re getting it anyway) there is absolutely no point comparing these two perfumes. Also,there is an oud for greatness by Initio personality (vibe) in this perfume especially when you smell the bottle. The complexity of this perfume makes it unique!!

This perfume is a MASTERPIECE in my opinion and with the 8.3 that it gets here I feel it’s totally underrated. But again not every person has a good taste like me….hehehe... I' m kidding of course, I respect every persons taste and preferences because they show personality and uniqueness!!

About the audience it is totally unisex. It can be worn in any occasion but better be a formal event, a night out, an important meeting, etc because this perfume smells quality, its addictive, alluring, sexy and bold.

Also, about the pricing I gave it a 10 because it is worth every cent and not because I believe it's cheap because it's not!!!!!

Liwa-The red Queen. What a cunning aristocracy you exude. Arrogant and hypocritical, you rest on your throne of knowledge. Surely, one will kneel before you, as so many have before. No pleading or begging have you ever tolerated. Boundless is your will to dominate and lead. The loyalty one must swear to you is a gift to your everlasting aesthetic of vanity.
So rise, my red queen. I am ready to receive you and taste your poison. Strawberry red is your royal garment. Like sweet honey, it caresses your slender body.
Tightly and sensually, it clings to you. Upon your head rests the crown of sacred and dark smoke that never extinguishes. With each step, sin spreads, as dark as patchouli wood. The white holy smoke escapes from your saffron-yellow lips like tobacco smoke, before you open them for me to seal the kiss. Soon, I will be yours forever and ever. Like white rose petals in the storm, my old life drifts away after your kiss. I can still feel them, your snow-white hands on my face. So pure and cool. I thank you, red queen, for the grace of capitulation.

What a beautiful scent this perfume exudes. Purity and sin as they could not be denser. A sea of white flowers, which in their mass come close to the smell of strawberries. Saffron, which smells as sweet and aromatic as sin itself. A velvety incense in harmony with one of the noblest patchouli I have ever smelled. Dark, spicy, alluring, sweet, and sinful it is on the skin. It has the longevity of an entire fragrance dynasty. Hours! A majestically fine sillage that one must inevitably kneel before. It is well-suited for both genders. A scent so beautiful that one hardly wants to wear it.

Thus, vanity is perfumed!

You are not just a perfume to me, not just a scent I wear to impress others.. You are a feeling for me! The feeling of having arrived, of finally being at home. No other perfume has ever touched and fascinated me like you do. You surround me like a protective cloak, with which nothing and no one can harm me.

You embrace me with your fine spiciness and sweetness, which is softly nestled on a floral base. Your increasingly pronounced woodiness deepens the feeling of how much you truly remind me of home. I can clearly see myself lying on dark red velvet, the massive, dark wooden beams of our ceiling above me.

You have been with me all day, reminding me of your presence with your warm embrace, yet you were never intrusive. You were not only comforting, but also interesting. Slowly, you begin to leave me, growing quieter.

I hope you will soon be mine, for although you come from the Orient, you fit with me, in my homeland..

The sun hung low over the desert, a glowing red circle that bathed the sky in gold. Amir stood at the edge of the dunes, watching as the wind lifted fine threads of sand into the air. He wore his black coat open, beneath which lay his secret: a hint of Liwa.

The first spray reminded him of a market he had visited as a child - piles of saffron as tall as his head, jasmine flowers in baskets, their scent wafting towards him from afar. But in that moment, amidst the desert, he smelled more: warm wood, as if the sun itself had soaked through it, and a whisper of incense that softly spoke of nights gone by.

He walked along the crest of the dunes, feeling how the fragrance mingled with the heat. There, where day tipped into night, the Liwa settled like an invisible veil on his skin - spicy, golden, still.

When he reached the campfire, Leila lifted her head. Her eyes sparkled in the glow of the flames.
"You smell... like a story," she said softly.
Amir smiled. "Maybe I am one."

I wanted to leave my first comment for an extraordinary and worthy fragrance, and I have now found it in my eyes!

!!LIWA!! First of all, I would like to share how I got to know this fragrance :)

A good colleague of mine was out and about in downtown Munich when an Arab tourist hurried past him. Suddenly, a very pleasant and intense scent wafted into my colleague's nose. Even after several meters, the fragrance lingered in his nostrils, and so he quickly decided to turn around and chase after the tourist, as he had never smelled such a delightful scent before. Eventually, he caught up with the pleasantly smelling tourist and politely asked him what perfume he was wearing. The man replied: LIWA
Got it! From that moment on, my colleague was completely beside himself and called me right away. He asked me where I was. Coincidentally, I was also in downtown Munich. He just said: Stay where you are, I’ll be right there! When he arrived, totally frantic, his description was: Amazing scent! Very pleasant! Totally intense!
I first laughed and said: Calm down and tell me what’s going on. So he reported to me what had happened. I said, all right, sounds great, then please check online where we can find this fragrance and let’s test it! Already done, he said: Oberpollinger in Munich. I said: Well then, let’s go, my friend! And soon my perfume-enthusiast friend and I [also a fanatic, even though my collection is still quite small compared to long-time perfumistas :-)] stood in Oberpollinger. In front of us was a beautiful red bottle that was practically just waiting for us :) Said and done!

And now to the scent:

First of all, this pleasant and not piercing, biting Oud touch immediately jumped into my nose. It was a gentle, soft, and bearable Oud that I was directly very enthusiastic about!

It then continued with the scent becoming fruity and somehow a bit woody. The saffron also came to the forefront and made itself known; however, the Oud remained present in the fragrance and was always in the foreground.
Unfortunately, I couldn't perceive the saffron for long, but the fruity-woody aspect held on throughout! All together, in my opinion, harmonized perfectly and fits together more than just well!

I was simply fascinated by these wonderful notes and this remarkable composition of this perfume!

I sprayed a few spritzes on myself to test the scent. I sprayed it on and ran some errands in the city center, which I had interrupted to test this fragrance with my colleague. I had almost forgotten what I was supposed to do that day :)
When I got home in the evening, the scent was still on me, and I was also thrilled by its longevity, which is incredibly strong!

Conclusion:
An extremely beautiful and pleasant fragrance for someone who wants to stand out subtly! I can definitely recommend this scent to any Oud lover who also enjoys fruity fragrances. A super beautiful blend!
