Very generic-smelling citrus
I confess that I don't get most of the good or bad notes listed by other reviewers. It smells like Mrs Meyers citrus dishwashing soap. This opinion comes from smelling it on a blotter, as I did not get to the stage of testing this on my skin.

I get the lemon and basil and many non-specific notes. I have a reached a point in my perfume journey that I have so many great perfumes to buy and enjoy. So, an average citrus is no longer worth my effort.

Funky Olive
If your skin's pH has a strained relationship with olive and musk notes, proceed with caution. Looking at the notes, Fiore d'Ulivo should be everything I love in a summer perfume: green, citrusy, floral notes that speak of Mediterranean summers. However, it doesn't evolve like this at all on my skin. Because of the olive-musk notes, on my skin the perfume evolves with a sweaty, embarrassing funk of freshly consummated sexual acts. Which could be a statement, but it's not one I care to make with a summer perfume.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

a walk in spring among the olive trees
The blossoming of the olive tree occurs in spring, usually in May or June. At this stage, the trees are covered in small white or yellow flowers, creating a breathtaking visual sight.
However, this small flower also has a great importance: it will turn into the fruit of this plant that will give life to one of the most appreciated and typical products of our area.
This fragrance is a walk in spring among the olive trees, surrounded by initially aromatic, Mediterranean notes and then by delicate floral tones.
Fresh, simple but beautiful.

Priceless Moments
My jaw is hanging down at chest level, remaining there like a funny third breast. My eyes are so wide open that my brows form a star-shaped hairy tiara over my head, my nostrils are flaring wide, reaching all the way to my earlobes, and voluntarily getting caught in the pearl earrings... I am completely overcome with awe. Uncertain - which I cover up by casually ignoring the elegantly uniformed saleswomen - I stroll along the brightly colored shelves, astonished, unusually shy, and I dare not touch anything.
Suddenly, a lemon cream yellow beam of light captures me, pulling me magically and without a chance of resistance towards a shelf in the back of the store. It’s as if a hand first lifts to grab the bottle and then a second hand to uncork it. I bring the bottle to my nose, and just before I can press the spray button into my nostril out of sheer desire for pleasure, a loud voice booms, disturbingly interrupting my ecstasy, “Can I help you?” from a uniformed woman who unexpectedly stands next to me way too quickly.
“I need... scent... lemon cream... do you have it?” I stammer. The uniformed woman turns around, but only her body, her head remains directed at me as she commands, “Over there,” and marches off in the indicated direction. All clear. I have to follow.
I catch a quick glimpse of the price tag on the beautiful box that belongs to my yellow UFO, I break down in despair, accusing the world, and crawl on my knees after the uniform.
“Urgh,” is my first thought about the scent that the heavily made-up uniformed woman sprays on me. Toilet cleaner with Nivea. “It needs to develop, give it a little time.” I muster a brave smile and promise to let it develop extensively during a little walk and then come back.
I don’t come back. I don’t even know what my UFO is called.
Yes, that’s exactly how it was back then, three-quarters of a year ago, when I was new at Parfumo and stood for the first time in the luxury perfumery Osswald in Zurich.
Some time later, I returned to our Swiss perfume meeting, feeling a bit more relaxed with a collection of niche fragrances in hand. My lemon cream yellow UFO was still there. What followed, I don’t want to elaborate on in all emotional details, thanks again to the Swiss perfume crew for your patience, anyway, I promised myself solemnly to order Fiore d’Ulivo cheaper online. I bought it half an hour later and three streets away, where it cost a whole 50 francs less (only 10 more than it would have cost at ALzD, after all).

Fiore d’Ulivo is my most expensive fragrance. And my most luxurious. It is not a perfume in the true sense for me; it doesn’t make me sexy or mysterious, it doesn’t give me a busy aura, it’s not a sofa scent, and it doesn’t smell like clean laundry.
It smells more like a really good body lotion. It conveys that feeling of having slept well and being rested, freshly showered and moisturized, wearing expensive silk underwear, treating oneself to something nice in everyday life. It’s spring, with birds chirping, one reads the newspaper and munches on homemade muesli before heading to work. You feel so fresh, so ready for the day, so tidy, clean, well-groomed, and thoroughly taken care of... with Fiore d’Ulivo, I have this feeling all day; I take the relaxed spring morning with me.
It smells like a Mediterranean light lemon cream; that’s how I can best describe it - even if that probably doesn’t do justice to the olive blossoms, as in my perception, the lemons are getting all the praise. It has green and floral nuances, is fresh, yet warm.
It gets 100% from me - the only one so far - in all categories.

By the way, a doll from the perfume crew was also caught by the beam back then; she has it now too ;o)

Not just another floral
The very first seconds of Fiore d'olivos are really very citrusy and not to my taste. It has a rather synthetic citrus note, more like lemon cake with icing.
And then... The fragrance just keeps getting more beautiful. A very unique floral wave unfolds, which can be specifically identified as olive blossom. This makes the floral aspect not classically sweet - innocent, but somehow edgy; unexpected, unconventional, yet not rebellious. Simply distinctive, attractive, interesting. Towards the end, the scent leans more musky on my skin and gains a so noble creaminess... Wow, I am truly captivated. You read the notes and think 'Oh okay, a floral scent, amber musk base, yeah...' - then you smell it and are enchanted! The quality is simply outstanding. Although I actually have enough of floral scents and personally prefer woody, green, aquatic notes, I can't get enough of fiore d'olivo. Definitely give it a sniff!

A super cozy citrusy mint that's perfect for the colder months also. A retro musk with green olive brings a languid bliss.

When an olive grove smells like this, I want to live in one :)
Gentle, fresh, clean: wellness at home.
Extra point for the 30ml bottle

Fresh green opening with a floral heart of jasmine and a beautiful warm dry down. I feel transported to a Mediterranean garden!

Citrusy-fresh open, followed by white florals & olive blossom. On-skin execution is poor (chemical smell), Arquiste's olive scent is better.

Generic feeling, did not leave much of an impression. Faded rather quickly on me.

Citrus opening with fresh mint/basil, then gradually more floral & white musk. Veers toward soapiness but remains airy & delicate throughout

The creamy olive note is reminiscent of "L'Olivier | Panier des Sens," but here it's a bit more citrusy, fruity, and floral.

Lemon ice,
enhanced with mint.
Over time, too much oil (olive)
the sun vibe is there,
but the oil ruins it all.
