perfect for your nose wall groove ;)
in my hand black velvet
the people recognized it, all sorts
from the inside to the edge it’s known
the envious mostly turn pale like a wall
every resistance is banished
a wave of good scent sweeps through the land
any understanding is brain-dead

hey please, all xerjoff scents here on the record
so that the collection explodes
yeah yeah I know it’s getting out of hand

homie you love neroli and vanilla
then this one is perfect for your nose wall groove
I don’t have a roli but I chill
and during the drydown I like to wear sunglasses too
look I’m offering you a challenge - even in silence
the maccheroni style with the oh so bitter pill
oh yes - forget the rest -
xerjoff is the best - what’s next?

----------

what a fantastic and harmonious scent.
admittedly, in my opinion, the cool naming and the coloring of the beautiful bottle don’t really match the scent DNA, but does it always have to? I only mention this because perhaps some might have false expectations at first glance.

there is absolutely nothing dark or seventies-like here ;)

what you get is simply a wonderfully orangey-sweet feel-good scent to dream of - top release!

Metallic Neroli Meets Warm Vanilla
So? Curious about the title? I certainly hope so, because this fragrance is worth getting to know.
Many great scents are stumbled upon by chance, if you want to call it that - a swap here, a swap there. You know how it is. But let's get straight to this wonderful composition, which impresses with the combination of light, fresh notes with the opposite, namely heavy and sweet ones.
"Nero70" captivates from the start with a substantial wave of neroli. The qualification of this sentence is rather symbolic, as it should stand for "impress" or something similar. Because nothing stings the nose here ... really nothing.
The neroli has a wonderfully metallic-cool presence. The emergence of - I'll put it delicately - "grandma" associations is skillfully prevented by just the right amount of added citrus fruits. However, I can't quite identify which citrus fruits they are.
With every second, every minute, and every hour, the vanilla becomes more and more prominent. It is very soft, not too sweet, and by no means sticky or overpowering, which is likely thanks to the light and subtly fruity neroli. This kind of interplay between light and heavy notes seems to be perfected by Xerjoff and is something you find repeatedly in this fragrance house. Just take a sniff of "Uden" or "Naxos." Then you'll understand what I mean.
But back to "Nero70," where we now have a slightly metallic-tinged neroli-vanilla blend - long-lasting, not too brutally projecting, quite subtle in my opinion (and that’s saying something for Xerjoff), and suitable for everyday wear across seasons. It will likely unfold most beautifully in spring, but even on colder days, yes, even in sub-zero temperatures, this fragrance makes a good impression. So, if you're looking for a modern neroli scent, you should definitely give it a try!

Noble Citrus Blossoms in the Creamiest Vanilla Mousse
I was lucky enough to win a bottle of this fragrance from the lovely Duftbunker on Instagram.
Since I had the chance to smell it about half a year earlier, I knew: something noble is coming my way.
When I unpacked it and the first fine mist emerged from the spray head, I was pleasantly surprised at how simple yet elegant it is.

The scent:
At first, it opens with fresh citrus notes that are so intertwined that none of them come across as too youthful. The fruit flows seamlessly into the citrus blossom. However, the neroli in this fragrance feels a bit more modern to me (like black chrome when viewed metaphorically) than I know from other scents. Before this touch drifts too much into extravagance, the creamy-sweet vanilla wraps around you gently.

Longevity and development:
The citrus notes are only detectable for the first 15-30 minutes. After that, neroli and vanilla take center stage for 6-8 hours. Depending on the day, the neroli and the sweetness of the vanilla fade on me, leaving behind a noble vanilla mousse that is still perceptible to others at a distance of 1 meter even 12 hours after application.

Bottle:
The typical Xerjoff bottle is rounded at the top and tapers downwards. The six facets create wonderful reflections in the transparent variants. However, for the fragrances from the "Velvet" series, which includes Nero70, the entire bottle is covered in velvet. This not only provides a pleasant tactile experience but also serves as a beautiful eye-catcher. Since most fragrances from the V-series come in very loud colors, the deep black bottle with a golden emblem and cap is a welcome change.

Price/Performance:
Considering that it is a Xerjoff Exclusive fragrance, only available at Campomarzio70, the price is no more than others from the V-series (255€). So here, unlike various Harrods Exclusives, you don't pay extra. For a fragrance that performs all day and makes such a noble impression, this is quite a reasonable price.

My conclusion:

"and during the drydown, I also like to wear sunglasses"
-Duftbunker

Yes, exactly, that’s what the fragrance does to you; you can’t help but put on sunglasses and enjoy a beautiful sunset. There are no complex scent developments, confusing combinations in the fragrance DNA, or a cocktail that feels like it consists of everything the essence archive has to offer. No - it can also be very simple and smooth.

Known as a fragrance, especially as a perfume
The Nero70 is probably the first scent with a velvet bottle that I have liked from Xerjoff. After a really long search for a sample, I eventually found an offer for this exclusive and managed to get a sample.
And as good as it smells over time, I don’t find it particularly special. It walks a narrow path between a DNA that I have not really smelled as a perfume before, but on the other hand, it is incredibly similar to the scent of a hotel fragrance/hotel property. Hotel scent is, of course, completely nonspecific and could mean anything, but both my first thought while testing and that of my girlfriend leaned towards a hotel fragrance. By this, I mean the kind of room fragrances in hotels that you often smell around the Mediterranean. A bit sweet and fresh-citrusy, almost exactly like the Nero70 smells, only in hotels it smelled somewhat synthetic, which we fortunately do not experience with the Nero70. The kind of scent you immediately smelled upon opening the automatic sliding doors, preferably in larger hotels.

But first, to the scent itself. A bright, radiant lemon opens, accompanied by blooming lavender; these two notes make me mentally fly to the Sicilian coast in the first few minutes. Following this is a fairly strong neroli note, which is quite sweet and delicate, yet long-lasting. Neroli here is also more citrus-oriented and less floral. This neroli combined with the Xerjoff sweet-creamy musk-vanilla base creates something very special. It partly feels like a creamy vanilla ice cream, and the overall impression feels cooling to me.
It also simply reminds me of vacation. I can’t describe how hotels do it, but as a child, I often went on vacation in Spain, and many hotels smelled almost the same. This carefree vacation experience is what the Nero70 brings back to me.

I don’t have such a strong association with similar fragrances like Neroli Portofino Eau de Parfum or "Sun Song | Louis Vuitton." Generally, the similarity of the fragrances for me lies in the citrus notes. Thus, the scent itself is somewhat known, but to smell it so well executed in a perfume is very rare, which is why the Nero70 has always remained very special in my memory. With this sweet vanilla note, Xerjoff stands out even more, and therein lies this similarity to the vacation scent.

My opinion on this perfume does fluctuate from time to time, yet it has overall convinced me and has remained positively in my memory.

Statement through Understatement
Even though the fragrance pyramid reveals the individual components, I expected something completely different due to the name and the bottle, a darker, heavier scent.

The surprise came after spraying: Nero70 is warm and soft. The fragrance simply feels good from the very first moment. Wodgods' comparison to a sinfully expensive spa is spot on.

There is a hint of wellness in the air - not like an aggressive sauna infusion, but very gentle. Noble herbs and flowers are subtly accompanied by citrus fruits and a wonderful vanilla sweetness.

The scent is neither sweet nor heavy, but also not fresh. It is unobtrusive and does not project particularly strongly.

What reads like complete disillusionment is actually the exact opposite. Nero70 is like a favorite piece of clothing. You put it on and feel comfortable. Whether it's evening wear (Nero can make a grand entrance) or a wool sweater is up to you, because Nero is not about the big show and dazzling; Nero is only about you and your well-being. It shows you that and it shows others that.

An all-around successful Xerjoff.

Nero70 is a combination of citruses with neroli, rounded by a sensual musk and a subtle vanilla. Fresh, powdery and sweet. Good longevity.

Hard to get but I find XJ Kobe is similar. Drydown is sweeter than Kobe and longer lasting. Nero70 has a better value (255€/100ml). Unisex.

Unfortunately, a disappointment for me, as a monstrous musk cloud and intrusive vanilla kill the neroli, lavender, and citrus notes.
