As a passionate Xerjoff lover, my heart bleeds. But since I buy my own fragrances and it is important to me that I can always judge objectively, so that my network is helped, I have to write this review unfortunately in the form.
Well, the sheep in wolf's clothing actually sums it up quite well. Probably the most beautiful and luxurious flacon in my collection - the "Sketchbook - P.33 | XerJoff" - from the Sketchbook collection, in my view, unfortunately does not meet the usual expectations I have of Xerjoff; especially not for the massively high price.
What do I mean by that and how is now the fragrance?
- Well, if you pay over 500 euros for a fragrance, you really expect something spectacular, and spectacular is defined differently for everyone, I know. As a reference, I take the beautiful "Oud Stars - Alexandria II (Perfume) | XerJoff" , which despite the high price delivers what it must. With the "Sketchbook - P.33 | XerJoff" on the other hand, you get a very designer apple scent that evolves into a powdery base with cinnamon. Period. No more, no less. Since gibts also no major surprises or otherwise.
- The scent progression is also rather unspectacular; you start with a good breeze of fresh apple, paired with citrus notes and a bit of grapefruit. The opening is in this respect quite well done, but also not earth-shattering unfortunately.
- After that, the fragrance goes into a rather powdery-cinnamony drydown, becomes softer, more rounded and visibly sweet-spicy. I think through this combination, it already somehow gives the impression as if you had a high-quality
1 Million Eau de Toilette sprayed on. Of course, it is not identical, but rudimentary in the association somehow. So not very spectacular...and you ask yourself just at the same time the question, you want to smell like an expensive
1 Million Eau de Toilette version at this price.
Please do not get me wrong, the fragrance smells really good and it is very suitable for the masses, because a good designer impact. But he is just not on Xerjoff level and certainly does not correspond to the really ingeniously designed flacon. The H/S is mediocre to a maximum of slightly above average; so the sillage is moderate, similarly the durability.
Whether the fragrance is worth it, I leave to you. But I definitely suggest to test the fragrance in advance for a long time before deciding to this expensive fun here.
