A mouthwatering summer?
It is always interesting to try something new. Grapefruit is one of my favourite notes and black currant appears in several of likable scents, such as Boss Deep Red and Cacharel’s Amor Amor. But the two mixed together is not a combination I yet had in my collection. Result: I had to buy it!
As a summer’s scent it’s perfectly composed, especially for very hot days. It is fresh, spicy and a bit bitter. I would take it for a unisex or even a male scent. I sense no flowers at all, but since my bottle is purchased without the box and already used for some time, I do not know if it has been stored the way it should, so the scent might be ruined.
Grapefruit and black currant is a very unusual combination. When mixed together in this particular scent they leave a minty impression. I think it is an interesting opening and I was keen on knowing how this would develop. Unfortunately the longevity is poor. It disappears after an hour, leaving a tiny sniff of something spicy and sour. No sandalwood or cedar comes to the surface. The sillage is very moderate.
The bottle is, in my opinion, a bit ordinary. Since it is one in a row, I am aware of that all the bottles are more or less similar, apart from the colours and the top, therefor the ordinary expression. This one has a small black currant on its top, but it is way too pink to actually prepare the user for what is inside.
Summary: if you want to purchase one of the folies de saisons, this should not be your first choice. But since I have not tried any of the others I cannot give any advice on which to buy. I can only say that this one is not mouthwatering in any way.
