wrapped in scented dew
Rummaging through cupboards and drawers always brings new surprises:
This time, a box full of multi-colored decorative bows that were used to wrap gifts at Douglas (why did I keep them?), between which there was still a miniature and a remaining bottle of "Vie Privée Caressing Body Spray" from Yves Rocher.
It must have been many years ago that I put these in the box, because I now remember that I wasn't entirely happy with the eau de toilette back then, which is why the little bottle is still relatively full, but I really appreciated the body spray.
This was followed by two light, refreshing waters in round glass shaker bottles, which were applied immediately after a bath or shower or could be used to freshen up on very warm days without being too sticky:
The rosy-floral was not my cup of tea at the time, but I really liked the one with the refreshing, spicy green notes; it was more of a fragrant shell than a perfume.
"Vie Privée" was/is now a body spray, in whose fragrant mist I spun while a friend of mine sprayed it generously.
(Just between us: although it was an entertaining game, it was quite a mess in the bathroom: there weren't many places there that weren't "scented".
So the exuberant fun was followed by a major cleaning party and he also had to buy a new bottle because the first one was empty so quickly.
Is that perhaps even the one I found now?)
Of course, I also remembered this when I pressed the spray button again and was amazed at how little this floral dew had changed.
(Are these watery compositions less susceptible to age than the heavier fragrances?)
The feeling of strolling barely clothed through a morning summer garden, feeling the warming air of the dawning day on your skin and seeing the traces of bare feet in the dewy mantle of the lawn is still successfully conveyed.
There they have all awakened, the fragrant flower beauties, but remain even more restrained in their scent.
A delicately enveloping mist of aromas emerges, with top and heart notes flowing gently into one another, allowing the aromatic scent of orange blossom and freesia in their green leafy nests to pave the way for roses, jasmine and ylang ylang, which are already spreading their wonderful fragrances more freely.
A fine mist of fragrance settles like a light veil on damp skin, which now also has an iris-powdery musk blanket with a sandalwood pattern in case the morning mist cools down a little too much: It feels very good!
A walk in the garden, fresh with flowers in the morning, is successfully simulated here for just a longer moment; but I don't expect too much more from fragrances like this.
However, despite their fleeting nature, they usually leave a wonderful scent on the skin and in the hair.
This is the case with "Vie Privée" Caressing Bodyspray, which is why I'm going to save the rest for warmer days so that I can enjoy delicately floral-scented morning walks.
And at some point, I'm sure I'll also discover the matching eau de toilette.
All in good time!
