Flowers and... What Flames?
Due to the name I hoped for a smoky version of Libre, but apparently the "Flames" here are more like sunrays. This is a warm, beachy floral take on it and not smoky at all.
It still carries the Libre DNA of very clean, fresh lavender and orange blossom. Compared to the original it doesn't feel as soapy, but it's lighter than the Intense and Le Parfum flankers. I think it's a bit lighter on the lavender and heavier on the orange blossom and vanilla than the pillar fragrance. There is something about this that feels warm and almost buttery.
Palm flower is the most interesting looking new note for this flanker, but to be honest I have no idea what that smells like. So, of course, I looked it up, and the internet says it has a vegetal scent that turns into a sweet, sunny floral with accents of caramel. I don't get anything vegetal/green here, but the rest of the description tracks pretty well!
The addition of tuberose to the notes list makes sense to me, too, as this flower can lean tropical. I do not get any lily here.
Libre is one of those perfumes where I prefer the flankers over the original, and this is another pretty addition to the lineup. It's not vastly different from the rest of the collection, but a nice alternative for the warmer seasons. It would make a good summer night perfume. My favorite Libre is Le Parfum and this doesn't come close to it, but I like it.
