Coliva - a masterpiece
I will start by getting this out of the way. I do not get sweetness and i don’t find anything gourmand about it. Probably just my nose.
In my honest opinion, this should have been called “Priveghi” instead of “Coliva”. This smells more like the wake, when the body of the deceased is in the chapel and people sit there before the funeral. It smells very incensey, like when the priest comes with that dangly thing that spreads the smoke around. It is not necessarily a pleasant smell to me, but rather one that evokes memories and somehow feels familiar. It sits close to the skin, and lasts quite a long time.
Nonetheless, to be able to capture that moment in a bottle, it is truly remarkable. The design - an absolute masterpiece. I’ve been following Adi for a long time now, from the beginnings and i know how hard he works. The designs are unmatched, so i think the price is fair.
