A European Cathedral Timeglass
Adi Ale Van creates so many gorgeous, artistic scents, which capture unique places and emotions. Diamonitirion is no different. At first, this is a musty scent, as if you opened the door to a damp, cool crypt. After a minute, the citrusy lime and spice of pepper and cardamom come through. Over time, these brighter scents dull, making way for a strong aroma reminiscent of an old cathedral. The scent remains ever so slightly spicy and fresh, but it is now wrapped in incense, tree resin and candle wax, and a certain aged, dusty quality. This is a fascinating scent, one which may not appeal broadly but is nonetheless intriguing.

Strong longevity and moderate projection allow the wearer to really enjoy the scent throughout its life cycle. The bottle design is gorgeous and perfectly captures the character of this scent.

Circles
My path winds through a forest, bedded on soft moss, dense trees with branches from which lichen hangs like veils. As the thinning canopy of leaves brightens the forest, my gaze falls on an old Romanesque church carved out of rough stone. The closer I get to this building, which borders on a ruin, the stronger the smell becomes.
Contrary to expectations, it is a light scent. It mingles with the depth of old writings, cold stonework, incense and the finest resins.
Curious and cautious, I push open the creaking door of the masonry. A large, bare room opens up. Empty, dark, pervaded by the coolness of centuries-old walls. In the dim light, I recognize an armchair at the opposite end. I breathe in the air, slowly, and walk towards it. With a mixture of unease and interest, I notice that I am not alone.
An old man is sitting in the armchair. A long beard, dull eyes, an absent look. So as not to startle him, I gently touch his shoulder as if to wake him from his stupor.
Suddenly I feel something behind my chest as if a force is reaching for me, pulling me through the eye of a needle and dragging me along.
The place where I wake up is bright. The moments in the cool, damp church seem distant, as if from another world.
And there it is again: that scent. Just like this place, delicate green light mingles with rays of orange resin. An incredibly clear, bright note, penetrating and still. The mixture of the colors green and orange in fragrance form.
The space around me is luminous, filled with rays, without beginning, without end. Time dissolves. I remain. I breathe.
As I lose myself, silence grows within me. When I feel the cold creeping into my skin again, I am already there. In the empty cathedral. In this armchair. I look down at my hands, they are old.
The door creaks open and he enters.
Diamonitrium opens with a bright, refreshing lime note. Resinous and incense-like accents soon follow, blending harmoniously with the citrus freshness. There are subtle nuances of candle wax, old paper and the cool atmosphere of an old wall. The combination of fresh and darker notes really impressed me, simply beautiful. The projection is rather subtle, but the longevity is impressive. The green freshness also remains perceptible almost throughout.

A visa for the gates at the edge of time
It's cool up here in the silver mist that wafts around the stone visa post. You have walked the long way with a handful of silent pilgrims. Then you are allowed to enter the freezing room. A monk sweeps the smooth brick floor. Incense still hangs in the old walls. It's more the memory of it. There is the smell of burning candles. Their wax congeals on dark resin residue, the traces in countless tiny cracks that litter the old desk. The past sleeps in the yellowed leaves, like a memory of dust and veils, of silver mists and incense resins, of amber glitter on cold walls. One is your Diamonitrion, the pass to the inside of the monastery walls, through the gates at the edge of time.

The Romanian niche perfume house Adi ale Van collaborates with renowned perfumers and tries to have as much as possible produced by hand by small local companies in Romania, a process that is ideal for limited editions. The bottles are handmade unique pieces by the artist Adi ale Van.
"Diamonitrion - Elixir Atonit" focuses on the small rural churches of Romania. The name is derived from the eponymous visa for pilgrims to the monastic republic of Athos in Greece. The fragrance is therefore an olfactory passport to these churches, which can also be seen in the design of the bottle, which depicts an old wooden cross from a chapel in a mountain village.
The opening is cool, slightly spicy (cardamom, pepper) and tart (lime), almost a little mineral. With the subtle light incense, there is indeed the smell of old church walls, as I have already smelled in a similar way in "Relique d'Amour". In Diamonitrion, however, the combination of frankincense, myrrh, pepper, resin and musk with cardamom and lime is even cooler and foggier than in Legrand's distant relative. Candle wax and the old paper act like a waxy, dusty filter from the heart; one can even imagine a slightly acidic sizing, which can remain with old paper, in addition to all the scents that it has absorbed over the years. This paper contains the scent of small stone chapels where time seems to have stood still. The scent projects moderately but for an above-average length of time.

A nice and smoky incense. But My Judgement Day (also from Adi) exists, and is a significantly better and sexier version.
