Too Clean to Feel Natural: A green and rainy scent that may come off more like a stylized version of nature rather than the real thing
Arashiyama opens fresh, green, and airy—but for me, it veered a little too far into “high-end air freshener” territory. I was expecting a more atmospheric, misty forest vibe, especially with the rain accord and bamboo notes, but what I got instead was something that felt more like stepping into a room that’s just been spritzed with an upscale, nature-inspired home fragrance.
The grassy elements and violet add a soft, watery brightness, but they also contribute to that almost synthetic quality that made it hard for me to connect emotionally with the scent. It doesn’t smell bad—not at all—but it just didn’t quite take me there.
That said, I might still give it another try—sometimes a scent just needs the right setting or moment to click.
