tidal tea scent
The opening notes are beautiful and sharp. The citrus notes are pleasantly green and after the melodramatic, strong citrus notes fade, the name "Monsoon Tea" is an apt description of the scent: it smells like rainy winds rustling through a field of green tea leaves. The scent perfectly encapsulates the smell of wood after a rain shower. To my surprise, the base notes lasted on my skin as I slept through the night, but I cannot recall the scent as anything other than "pleasant" in comparison to the robust opening notes.

Lovely watery fresh mix of citruses and green tea
Sampling Monsoon Tea by d’Annam, a really pleasantly watery fresh blend of citruses, green tea, musk, and vetiver, very much in the same family as In The Garden, but a shift away from florals and neroli in favor of citruses and green tea, but still citric, green, fresh, and agreeable. It has a vaguely mossy, borderline vegetal quality to it but not so much that it smells realistic to the point of being unpleasant. It’s really quite great, as with the other scents I’ve tried in the house so far, and performs well, particularly for a freshie.

As with the rest of the line, Monsoon Tea is EDP concentration and priced at $120 for 50ml, which is a very reasonable pricing level relative to other niche options currently. In addition to the full collection being sold on their house site, d’Annam is now carried, in part, by Ministry of Scent, Luckyscent, and Arielle Shoshana, each of which sells some, but not all, of the line’s current catalogue of nine fragrances. Monsoon Tea is sold by all three of those boutiques, though.

a sunny day with a cup of tea
really brings to mind brewing a cup of tea and relaxing around the house. beautiful bitter, mild tea scent that doesn’t lean milky and relaxes into a light ambery musk that reminds me of warm, clean, well worn clothes. the musk isn't heavy or animalic. the citrus opening doesn’t stick around long but i don’t see that as a negative, and the citrus influence feels clear in the rest of the wear time (as opposed to how a floral opening, for example, would influence the wear).

performs well, lasting for the entirety of my 8 hour work day. dissolves completely without leaving a musk behind, as i've noticed something heavier like zoologist does. fresh and clean wear.

d’annam seems to have a strength for crafting cozy scents.

Wonderful experience
I’ve tried all the Vietnamese discovery set, and Monsoon Tea is my personal absolute favorite.

It opens with a bright citrus note, not really sharp but more like the kind of fresh pleasant lime, and you can already smell the wonderful green notes hidden underneath. As the lime fades for about 15min, the tea start to appear and blend gently with the top notes. When I reached the heart notes, I was blown away by the photorealistic rain scent they promised us in the description. It really feels like sitting on a terrace, with light rain falling on green plants. The type of rain drops who opens the vegetable oil of tea leaves, and at that moment, your mind becomes quiet.

It’s comforting, it’s beautifully done, the type of perfume you want to smell when you need calm. For the negative points, the longevity is about 4-5 hours of pure tranquility, and the sillage is maybe too weak for my taste. But I can’t stop thinking of that wonderful fresh green tea.

Despite the performance, I will buy it for my father this Christmas, it’s exactly the type of light scent that he loves and match his personality. A fragrance that is not heavy to wear and transport your mind.
People don’t talk enough about this perfume, and I hope I have encouraged some of you to test it.

Underwhelming
A little bit of green scent, then lots of citrus... then nothing. It barely lasted through my commute to work. If you get bad reactions to scents like headaches or sneezing, this might be a good choice. It's not that the scent is bad per se. It's just that it's very subtle. In work cultures that are very strict about fragrance, you can probably get away with this one. Personally, I won't be purchasing a full bottle of this. d'Annam Chinese Calligraphy is probably my favorite scent, so don't assume that everything they make is like this. I think that in every d'Annam collection, there's a scent that's barely there and extremely subtle for those who like that.

Lovely GREEN green tea. It starts out a bit heavy on the lime, but that fades into a really pleasant and cosy photorealistic green tea.

Blown away by how realistic this is. April showers blowing through a field of tea. Cold, herbal, slightly bitter, fresh

Gentle, musky, and subtle. Sheer floral tea on a cool, misty day and a lived-in herbal musk in the base. Very easy to like.

The greenest tea I've smelled yet, not matcha but fresh plucked and still damp. It's gorgeous and relaxing

Calm, leafy green, earthy, pithy, sour. 15 min: smooth green tea comes in. Quiet. Pretty. Gone in an hour.

Terrific sharp lime start. Mellows to a lovely citrus tea, sipped after a rain. Both date and office appropriate.

A woody, earthy, vetiver-forward freshie with a hint of citrus. Professional enough for the office without being boring.
