A Bite Too Much: Beautiful chewy rice and red bean paste, though its sweetness may become overwhelming over time
Strawberry Mochi is a photorealistic gourmand perfume. The glutinous rice and red bean paste are incredibly accurate, which might sound unusual, but somehow feels cozy and inviting. It’s like stepping into a warm bakery that specializes in Japanese sweets.
Oddly enough, I didn’t get much strawberry on my skin. The sweetness starts off soft and doughy from the rice, then gradually intensifies—probably as the brown sugar and vanilla become more prominent. It shifts from delicate and nostalgic to something richer and a bit heavier over time.
At first, I really loved how comforting and unique it was, but as the scent developed, the sweetness becomes a little too much for me.
Still, it’s a scent I admire for how well-crafted and original it is, even if it’s not one I’d reach for often.
