Hello,
Today I would like to talk about the new
Jamaican Ambergris: Purple Sultani and under certain circumstances, this review might become a bit longer.
Before I dive directly into the new one, I want to briefly introduce you to the others.
The
Jamaican Ambergris Maroke SQ is probably the best, the roundest, and generally speaking, the most perfect of all (the H/S is also amazing).
The
Jamaican Ambergris Pinoy LTD is ultimately just like the "Jamaican Ambergris Maroke SQ | Ensar Oud," but there is a big difference with the Oud (Pinoy), which is somewhat bitter and sour, and in my opinion, it has 1 or 2 more edges, which is why I found it more beautiful!
Finally, we have the 2024 release "Jamaican Ambergris | Ensar Oud," which is the best priced and the most beginner-friendly with few edges, a lot of fruit, and less ambergris and less oud.
Now a brief note on the topic of price:
It is sooooo thankless to talk about it and yes, it is also relative, but the current ongoing rate - for the last 2-3 years has really stopped being funny and is less comprehensible. I understand that "EVERYTHING" in the world is getting expensive in terms of glass, caps, raw materials, customs.... but it really strays so far from reality and is beyond good and evil... 2000€+ for a bottle... Well, everyone can and may think what they want about it, but I find it difficult...
Finally, to the scent:
It is most closely aligned with the general direction of the "Jamaican Ambergris | Ensar Oud,"
BUT (!) you can clearly notice a significant (!) update in the "Jamaican Ambergris: Purple Sultani | Ensar Oud." The 50ml bottle (there is only that one) has received 3 grams of the Purple Melange = this is a proprietary blend of Lila Sultani, Terengganu, and King Super, and certain nuances have been adjusted and exchanged.
Bottle:
An absolute dream and next to the "Tigerwood (Pure Parfum) | Ensar Oud," in leather, the most beautiful that EO has ever created, and anyone who doesn't give it a 10 out of 10, I can't help anymore^^.
Effect:
Right at the beginning, we have something..., something new - that has not even remotely appeared in any Jamaican Ambergris, and you can extremely notice the Purple Melange. It feels fresh, cooling, and almost metallic, noble, mature, and at the same time warming oriental, similar to the effect of the new/current Platinum "Purple Rain (Attar) | Ensar Oud." The familiar and known scent direction of the
Jamaican Ambergris pushes through more and more after xx minutes.
However, we do not have playfulness here, but something mature. The ambergris used here is (thankfully) also drier. But another extreme plus point is, among other things, the end of the scent.
The vanilla - the dry ambergris - the vetiver, the sandalwood, and still a hint of rose = WOW! EO has delivered!
H/S:
I will keep it short; it is currently the best/strongest available at EO.
Effect on other people:
On one hand, I must slowly admit that I increasingly don't care (!) what people say negatively about certain things, but here lies the problem (^^), because no one has said anything negative, and EVERYONE, really EVERYONE found it very good/beautiful/awesome, etc.
When does one wear something like this?
Best for special occasions!
Usable daily?
Rather no, partly from a financial perspective, and it would lose its charm...
When:
Except for the real high summer, actually always.
(With 1-2 sprays under certain circumstances even then!)
It is UNISEX (!) wearable.
General thoughts!
The
Jamaican Ambergris: Purple Sultani has a special charm - something mystical and mysterious, which comes from the ambergris used and surrounds you like an aura that makes people turn around, one that they look up to, one that they want to be surrounded by.
One small - big tip:
Never evaluate a high-priced + high-quality fragrance only by how it smells at the spray head. Because that image is not truthful! It smells completely different in connection with the skin. I often say such things - I know, but this is extreme!
(Specifically with this one!)
If the option arises - test it,
you may not regret it!
And now have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny

P.S.
In my eyes, it is by far the best Jamaican Ambergris available for purchase at EO. The beginning, the matured heart note, the world-class drydown, the insane performance (4 sprays 18h+), the bottle - everything is a dream except for the price...
