A Masterpiece of Tonkin Musk, Spices, and Blackberry
Private Blend: Hailam Kilam by Ensar Oud is a masterful composition that harmoniously blends musky, spicy, and fruity elements.
The fragrance opens with a captivating blend of Tonkin musk and black pepper, creating a spicy and animalic introduction. The presence of clove adds warmth and a subtle sweetness, while a hint of blackberry balances and softens the pungency of the musk, offering a juicy and sweet contrast.
In the heart, Chinese oud emerges subtly, providing a woody and resinous depth that supports the top notes without overpowering them.
The base features creamy Mysore sandalwood, adding depth and roundness to the composition.

The longevity is exceptional, lasting throughout the day, while the projection is moderate, consistent with the brand’s standards. Among the Tonkin musk fragrances I’ve experienced, this stands out as one of the finest, solidifying its place among Ensar Oud’s best offerings.

This fragrance is a testament to the art of perfumery, delivering a complex and evolving scent experience that captivates the senses.

On the Roof of the World
I close my eyes. In Tibet's deep valleys. High on the roof of the world.
All around me, only vastness - almost infinitely intoxicating.
On the horizon, the musk-red clouds let me breathe their sparkling dark fruity light in the twilight. Soft and minimalist.
With every breath, I drink the cream-colored air.
And up high in the skies, the eagle's woody wings swirl, carrying the tea of the fields into the wind of the departing day.
I laugh with the wind and follow the lonely path, lined with velvety flowers.
Far in the distance, to the temple - and I am there.

**

I haven't written any texts or formulated a review here for a long time. I thought my energy in this regard had fizzled out.
Until recently, however, EO has caught up with me. In connection with this beautiful and incredibly successful fragrance, I feel I owe this work a few worthy words...

When activating the sprayer, a cloud of musk explodes forth, certainly unmatched. The indisputable quality of Tonkin and Tibet musk is omnipresent from the very beginning and is guaranteed to be intensified over time by a "musk twirl" in the bottle. It's also important to note that it never feels dirty or grimy. The initial animalic note fades quickly, but builds the tension continuously and progressively, giving the fragrance the necessary backbone.
A juicy blackberry envelops the musk like a cocoon and balances it out delicately. Supported by flashing streaks of black tea, I come to the following conclusion: Never too much, yet still a real punch.
The dark fruity aromas color this initial picture so incredibly authentically that I must admit I have never encountered anything like it before.
After this introduction, it doesn't take long for the beautifully blended ouds to integrate with their dark woodiness. A generous portion of vintage Irian Jaya oud and the namesake Hailam Kilam was likely used. A rare Hainan oud that interacts perfectly with the full force of the musk.
Finally, a few floral-sweet arrangements and vintage Mysore sandalwood round off the entire composition, making it wonderfully wearable. The longevity is, of course, high due to the precious and valuable, as well as rare raw materials, as is the price. But that is another topic and logically to be factored in with EO.

Definitely high-end
Maximally authentic
Potentially addictive

Help, I am lost and so is my wallet :))

Lucid Dream thanks to the new Semi-Bespoke PB
I was so excited when I first discovered the name "Private Blend" in the current Ramadan specials from Ensar.
The Private Blend is and remains one of the most beautiful musk fragrances I know and one of my favorites from the brand.
I have long dreamed of how wonderful it would be to hold the PB with a generous addition of high-quality oud in my hands. Therefore, it felt like a lucid dream in which I could fulfill my great wish. It was almost unreal to me that my desired composition would be served to me on a silver platter.
And now the moment has come, and I will share my experience and my opinion on it…

What I love about the OG version "Private Blend | Ensar Oud / Oriscent" is that from the very first second, a dense, warm, and highly potent musk cloud flows into the nose.
Thank God, we have the same effect in this version.
From the start, it kicks off with power. You don't have to worry about longevity and sillage; the performance is once again extreme. The new PB projects well for 15 hours, and after that, it remains perceptible on the skin for up to 24 hours.
Compared to the OG, the performance (especially the sillage) is a bit lighter, but it has more depth; more on that later.
The main players are the two types of musk, Tibetan and Tonkin musk, which are used in high concentrations. Additionally, the fragrance oils are not diluted with alcohol but with a tincture of both musk types, and as a cherry on top, there is a chunk of musk in the bottle.
So, it’s no surprise that with the first spray, a musk bomb explodes, creating a cloud of dense, warm, and animalistic mist that forms the first building block of the composition.
The musk notes are indeed highly potent and distinctly animalistic, but never unpleasant. They also bring a spiciness and, above all, a warm & sweet creaminess that shapes the entire fragrance journey alongside the animalistic notes.
Royal floral notes of a rose weave into the musk cloud, appearing almost juicy and slightly fruity.
Fruity notes of blackberry and spicy tea notes dance around creamy, woody sandalwood. The Mysore sandalwood smells incredibly high-quality and noble. The creamy notes blend perfectly into the overall impression and form a noble part of the fragrance's base alongside the woody notes.
Another highlight is the oud, which, alongside the grand choice of musk, makes the composition what it is - a masterpiece.
Vintage Jaya oud has been used, which forms the base of the fragrance alongside the musk, which remains strongly present, and the sandalwood, which adds bright wood notes and creaminess to the overall impression. And this base has a lot to offer and plays with an incredible number of facets. The Jaya oud brings dry-woody, dark, and earthy notes. All of this creates a solid foundation. Additionally, animalistic and slightly dirty oud notes come into play, which wonderfully blend with the musk and become one.
The crowning aspect of all this, which gives the fragrance so much depth and complexity, is the special oud that has been additionally used. As the name of the fragrance suggests, it is Hailam Kilam.
Hailam Kilam is a Chinese oud from Hainan that smells extremely high-quality and noble, bringing completely different facets into play.
The Hailam Kilam also has animalistic notes, but it also brings a woodiness and, above all, spicy notes. It even has an almost musky touch. This naturally fits perfectly into our musk bomb, as if it were made just for that.
The depth and complexity that the fragrance receives from the interplay of the different ouds is noticeable from the very beginning and I perceive it as extremely high-quality and successful. This is great art.
As the composition progresses, the strong base increasingly pushes to the forefront, and the individual facets that initially danced loosely within the overall work have integrated into the complexity of the whole.

For me, a masterpiece has been created here, and a fragrance that I love and appreciate has not been newly interpreted, but it has been given depth and new facets. For me, both versions will always have a place in my collection, but I no longer want to miss the new, oudier version.
In the end, my dream has become a reality…

Final Destination.
For three years now, I have been intensively engaged with perfumes, the last of which has been almost exclusively Artisan scents.
Like many perfume enthusiasts, my journey here has always been marked by a quest for more.
What started as a simple desire for more sillage and longevity quickly turned into a craving for more exclusivity and unique scent impressions.
Compliments were inevitably lost along the way, but I like to think I have moved beyond that.

Private Blend was a reset for me. An olfactory expansion of consciousness and perhaps the end of my search.

No normal person wakes up one morning and orders an Ensar fragrance worth the price of a small car or a summer vacation.

Rather, the enthusiasm for brands like Areej Le Dore or Ensar Oud comes at the end of a long pilgrimage, past the Chanels and Diors of this world, to the Xerjoffs and Rojas. Driven by the pursuit of exclusivity - and what is more exclusive than spraying oneself with rotting wood and the urine-soaked pheromone sacs of a nearly extinct deer species(^^)?

But there is something else. Something that, in my opinion, is gradually being lost with the growing popularity and the ever more apparent greed of the brand owner.

I am speaking of the unmistakable brilliance and innovative capacity that they have demonstrated with creations like Private Blend.

The house has not achieved its success without reason - Private Blend, Iris Ghalia, EO3 & Red, as well as a few others, are for me absolute exceptional fragrances that penetrate deeply into the subconscious of their wearer and gently carry them to a place of personal memory.

Just as Iris Ghalia takes me back to a cool starry night in dry Portugal, I feel transported to a sunset in Jericoacoara, Brazil, when I spray Private Blend -

A soft wind blows, I sit on the hot sand of a dune and gaze at the horizon. There I can see the curvature of the Earth, behind which the red sun slowly sets, still reflecting in the delicate waves of the sea during its last glorious minutes.
I am not alone, but the moment is too beautiful and captivating to ruin with words.

Private Blend is for me an almost pure musk scent, carefully carried by the dark fruity interplay of roses and blackberries over a sandalwood path adorned with tea to an oud temple. There, the fragrance lingers for countless hours.

What makes Private Blend so special for me, however, is not this harmonious interplay of individual notes, but the almost incomprehensible, all-encompassing vapor sauna of sillage.
In the first few hours after spraying, Private Blend saturates the surrounding air so much that a spoon could get stuck in it. And that with the most heavenly, creamiest musk, at whose scent I still get goosebumps - Private Blend smells like a firm embrace, like the skin of a beloved.

All in all, this fragrance took me on two time travels, one to Brazil and the other back three years to the beginning of my search for "THE" scent.

The feeling of an expansion of consciousness has repeated itself like my first "understanding" of Artisan fragrances, but now it no longer opens up a completely new world of artists and scents for me.

I feel I have reached the destination of my journey.

Final destination, everyone get off.

mystical desert night
sultry warm summer night dream
roses bloom at midnight
and the moon shines golden-brown
from the sky it radiates onto my bright desert tent, warming it gently, making it colorful, shimmering, soft and delicate. A shaman opens it
carefully and quietly bows before me, sending friendly words that seem inviting and delightful to me. We walked to the other side of the camp, the air dry and eerie as if a beast were following me. I feel anxious and
submissive. Moment, is this a dream or reality? The shaman opened the tent before me so high, yes too high, that I could easily step through. I saw five other
men with full beards and turbans, wrapped in silky garments. They bowed before me and smiled at my face. I was offered a place on a musky fur, velvety soft. I took my seat, and a bowl full of juicy
blackberries was handed to me. I leaned back and watched, warmly sheltered, their strange play on ancient copper scales. They weighed precious spices with sandalwood sticks, dosed various herbs, and spoke hectically to each other. In the meantime, I noticed the spice in the tent, stronger, clove steam enveloped me, cinnamon wood, and cool menthol Sichuan pepper, golden curry dust dipped in nutmeg blossom, bright resins and bitter fennel shine in the candlelight. But then a terrible noise broke through the tent. Cautiously, I peeked through a small slit and saw a
huge tiger making its rounds. Its musky breath reached me, its old fur sensed me, I could do nothing but hope it wouldn’t notice me. I whined in the dark and waited despondently.
---------------------------------------------
an outstanding start: rose, oud, musk, blackberries, soft, animalistic, creamy, juicy, woody, old and antique. Then, beside me, the
spice pouch, a very, very noble mélange of Chinese five-spice powder, so pure and beautifully seasoned that it brings me the oriental desert flair. Musk is royal and sneaks in on silent paws, noble, elevated, and epic. The berries are necessary and keep the beast in check, which only partially succeeds. The tiger wants out, and it does so, a lot of skin, leather, and warm fur, frighteningly beautiful and awe-inspiring, animalistic, creamy, serious, and aggressive.
Roses and blackberries fight together against musk, oud, dense, bitter, juicy, laying with mint pepper and berries on lips and throat, making the sap run.
Sandalwood leans more towards the spices. The start remains, with a few moments, for up to 3 hours nonstop on the skin. Blackberries and oud pull along. The musk tiger nibbles slowly on everyone. The scent becomes soft and cuddly
then it purrs until the next day on the skin. Amber and jasmine join in, but only 12 hours later. A spritz lasts 24 hours on me.
a wild musky dream
so alive, heavy, and dense, an oriental longing of old days, epic, mystical, and beautifully dreamy. This one is really good, very gently blended, no edges, a round ball warm and soft.
everything goes hand in hand just to calm the tiger.
No cow stable, everything very clean and crystal clear, yet not for the faint-hearted, it is very strong
and a monster musk piece swims around too.
This one is class
Thank you, Andi89, for this gem.

Darker, less rose and fruity sweetness than "Private Blend: Hailam Kilam | Ensar Oud / Oriscent". Similar dense addictive animalic musk.

Beautiful musk: more sweet than the OG and more rounded. Shared same soul as the OG version, just little more exploitable.

Initially briefly animalistic, it quickly retreats.
Then a lovely rose for 30 minutes.
After that, berry + spicy rounded musk.
