A Masterpiece of Tonkin Musk, Spices, and Blackberry
Private Blend: Hailam Kilam by Ensar Oud is a masterful composition that harmoniously blends musky, spicy, and fruity elements.
The fragrance opens with a captivating blend of Tonkin musk and black pepper, creating a spicy and animalic introduction. The presence of clove adds warmth and a subtle sweetness, while a hint of blackberry balances and softens the pungency of the musk, offering a juicy and sweet contrast.
In the heart, Chinese oud emerges subtly, providing a woody and resinous depth that supports the top notes without overpowering them.
The base features creamy Mysore sandalwood, adding depth and roundness to the composition.

The longevity is exceptional, lasting throughout the day, while the projection is moderate, consistent with the brand’s standards. Among the Tonkin musk fragrances I’ve experienced, this stands out as one of the finest, solidifying its place among Ensar Oud’s best offerings.

This fragrance is a testament to the art of perfumery, delivering a complex and evolving scent experience that captivates the senses.

On the roof of the world
I close my eyes. In Tibet's deep valleys. High on the roof of the world.
All around me is nothing but vastness - almost infinitely intoxicating.
On the horizon, the musky red clouds let me breathe in their tingling, dark fruity light at dusk. Soft and puristic.
I drink in the cream-colored air with every breath.
And above, high in the air, the eagle's woody wings swirl the tea of the fields in the wind of the departing day.
I laugh with the wind and follow the lonely path, velvety lined with blossoms.
Far in the distance, to the temple - and I am there.

**

I haven't written any texts or formulated a review here for a long time. I thought my energy in this regard had gone up in smoke.
Until EO recently caught up with me. In connection with precisely this wonderful and incredibly successful fragrance, I feel I owe this work a few words of appreciation...

When the atomizer is activated, a cloud of musk literally explodes out, which is certainly unparalleled. The unquestionable quality of Tonkin and Tibet musk is omnipresent right from the start and is guaranteed to intensify over time thanks to a "musk twirl" in the bottle. Very importantly, it is never dirty or grimy. Although the initial animalic notes subside quickly, they build up the tension continuously and gradually, giving the fragrance the necessary backbone A succulent, juicy blackberry envelops the musk as if in a cocoon and delicately balances it out. Supported by flashes of black tea, I come to the following conclusion: never too much and still packs a real punch.
The dark fruity aromas color this initial picture so incredibly authentically that I have to admit I have never experienced anything like it before.
After this opening, it doesn't take too long for the beautifully blended ouds with their dark woodiness to come into play. A large portion of vintage Irian Jaya oud and the eponymous Hailam Kilam were probably used. A rare Hainan oud that interacts perfectly with the full power of the musk.
Last but not least, a few floral-sweet arrangements and a vintage Mysore sandalwood round off the entire composition, making it wonderfully wearable. The durability is naturally high due to the precious, valuable and rare raw materials, as is the price. But that's another matter and logically something to be taken into account with EO.

Definitely high-end
Maximally authentic
Potentially addictive

Help, I'm lost and so is my wallet :))

Lucid dream thanks to the new semi-bespoke PB
I was delighted when I first discovered the name "Private Blend" in Ensar's current Ramdan specials.
For me, Private Blend is and remains one of the most beautiful musk fragrances I know and one of my favorites from the brand.
And I have long dreamed of how nice it would be to hold the PB in my hands with a generous addition of high-quality oud. So at first it felt like a lucid dream for me, in which I could make my big wish come true. It was almost unrealistic for me that my dream composition would be served to me on a silver platter.
And now the time has come and I'm going to share my experience and my opinion...

What I love so much about the OG version Private Blend is that a dense, warm and highly potent musky cloud wafts into the nose from the very first second.
Thank goodness we also have this effect in this version.
It starts with power right from the start. You don't have to worry about the durability and sillage, the performance is again extreme. the new PB projects well for 15 hours, after which it is perceptible close to the skin for up to 24 hours.
Compared to the OG, the performance (especially the sillage) is a little lighter, but it has more depth, more on that later.
The main players are the two types of musk, Tibetan and Tonkin musk, which are used in high concentrations. In addition, the fragrance oils are not filled with alcohol, but with a tincture of both types of musk and, as the cherry on the cake, there is also a chunk of musk in the bottle.
So it's no surprise that a musk bomb explodes at the first spray and a cloud of dense, warm and animalic mist forms the first building block of the composition.
Although the musky notes are highly potent and clearly animalistic, they are never unpleasant. They also bring a spiciness and, above all, a warm and sweet creaminess that characterizes the entire fragrance alongside the animalic notes.
The musky cloud is interwoven with regal floral notes of rose, which is almost juicy and slightly fruity.
Fruity notes of blackberry and spicy notes of tea dance around on creamy, woody sandalwood. The sandalwood from Mysore smells extremely high-quality and sophisticated. The creamy notes blend perfectly into the overall impression and form a sophisticated part of the fragrance's base alongside the woody notes.
Another highlight is the oud, which, alongside the magnificent choice of musk, makes the composition what it is - a masterpiece.
On the one hand, vintage Jaya oud was used. The oud forms the base of the fragrance alongside the musk, which has a lasting strong presence, and the sandalwood, which lends the overall impression of light woody notes and creaminess. And this base really has something to offer and plays with an incredible number of facets. The jaya oud brings dry, woody, dark and earthy notes. All of this forms a solid base. Animalic and somewhat dirty oud notes also come into play, which combine wonderfully with the musk and become one.
The crowning glory and the aspect that gives the fragrance so much depth and complexity is the special oud that has also been used. As the name of the fragrance suggests, it is Hailam Kilam.
Hailam Kilam is a Chinese oud from Hainan, which has an extremely high-quality and sophisticated fragrance and brings completely different facets into play.
Hailam Kilam also has animal notes, but it also has a woody and, above all, spicy note. It also has an almost musky touch. Of course, this fits in perfectly with our musky scent, as if it was made just for it.
The depth and complexity given to the fragrance by the interplay of the different ouds is noticeable right from the start and I find it enormously high-quality and successful. This is great art.
The further the composition progresses, the more the powerful base pushes itself to the fore and the individual facets, which at the beginning were still dancing around loosely in the overall work, have become integrated into the complexity of the whole.

For me, a masterpiece has been created here and a fragrance that I love and appreciate has not been reinterpreted, but it has been given depth and new facets have been added. For me, both versions will always have a place in my collection, but I wouldn't want to miss the new, more oudy version.
So my dream finally became reality..

mystical desert night
sultry warm summer night's dream
Roses bloom at midnight
and the moon shines golden brown
from the sky it shines on my bright desert tent warms it gently makes it colorful iridescent soft and delicate a shaman opens it
carefully and quietly bows to me sends friendly words that seem inviting and delightful to me we walked to the other side of the camp the air is dry and eerie as if an animal is chasing me I feel anxious and
submissive moment is this a dream or reality the shaman opened the tent in front of me so high yes too high that I could easily walk through I saw five other
Men with full beards and turbans wrapped in silky robes they bowed to me and smiled into my face I was offered a seat on musky fur velvety soft I took a seat they handed me a bowl full of juicy blackberries Blackberries I leaned back and watched their strange game warmly protected on ancient copper scales They weighed precious spices with sandalwood sticks They dosed all kinds of herbs and talked frantically to each other in the meantime I noticed the spice in the tent stronger Clove vapor enveloped me cinnamon wood and cool menthol Szechuan pepper golden curry dust dipped in nutmeg blossom bright resins and bitter fennel shone in the candlelight but then a terrible noise broke through the tent cautiously I looked through a small slit and saw a
huge tiger making its rounds its musky breath reaches me its old fur tracks me down, I can do nothing but hope it doesn't notice me I wave in the dark and wait despondently.
---------------------------------------------
excellent start:rose oud musk blackberries soft animalic creamy juicy woody old and antique then place with me the
Spice bag very, very, noble melange Chinese 5 spice powder so pure and beautifully flavored that brings me the oriental desert flair musk is royal and comes sneaking on quiet paws noble sublime and epic the berries are necessary and keep the beast in the fence which is only partially successful the tiger wants out and he does that a lot of skin, leather and warm fur frighteningly beautiful and terrifying animalic creamy serious and aggressive
Roses and blackberry fight together against musk, oud dense bitter juicy lies down with the mint pepper and berries on lips and throat that the sapper runs
Sandalwood lies more with the spices The start remains non-stop on the skin except for a few moments up to 3h Brommbere and Oud pull along. Musk tiger nibbles them all very slowly. Scent becomes soft and cuddly
then it purrs on the skin until the next day amber and jasmine are added but only 12h later a splash lasts 24h with me
a musk dream gone wild
so lively, heavy and dense oriental longing of old days epic, mystical and beautiful to dream. It is once again well blended very carefully no edges a round ball warm and soft
everything goes hand in hand just to calm the tiger.
No cowshed all very clean and crystal clear but not for the faint hearted this is very strong
and a monster musk piece is also floating around
That's great
Thank you Andi89 for the piece of jewelry

End of the line.
I have been working intensively with perfumes for three years now, the last of which has been almost exclusively with Artisan fragrances.
As with many perfumos, my career here has always been characterized by a desire for more.
The simple desire for more sillage and longevity quickly turned into a desire for more exclusivity and unique fragrance impressions.
Compliments were inevitably lost along the way, but I like to think I'm above that by now.

Private Blend was a reset for me. An olfactory expansion of consciousness and perhaps the end of my search.

No muggle (that's what I cheekily call perfume-unenthusiastic people) wakes up one morning and orders an Ensar fragrance worth a small car or a summer vacation.

Rather, the enthusiasm for brands such as Areej Le Dore or Ensar Oud comes at the end of a long pilgrimage, past the Chanels and Diors of this world, past the Xerjoffs and Rojas. Driven by the pursuit of exclusivity - and what is more exclusive than spraying yourself with rotting wood and the urine-soaked pheromone bags of an almost extinct deer species(^^)?

But there is something else. Something that, in my opinion, is being lost bit by bit with growing popularity and the increasingly obvious greed for money of the brand owner.

I'm talking about the unmistakable brilliance and innovation that he has demonstrated with creations such as Private Blend.

There is a reason for the house's success - Private Blend, Iris Ghalia, EO3 & Red and a few others are for me absolutely exceptional fragrances that penetrate deep into the subconscious of their wearer and gently carry them to a place of their own memory.
Just as Iris Ghalia transports me to a cool starry night in dry Portugal, I feel transported to a sunset in Jericoacoara, Brazil when I spray on Private Blend -

A soft wind blows, I sit on the hot sand of a dune and gaze into the horizon. There I can see the curvature of the earth, behind which the red sun is slowly setting and is still reflected in the delicate waves of the sea in its last glorious minutes.
I am not alone, but the moment is too beautiful and engaging to ruin with words.

For me, Private Blend is an almost pure musk fragrance that is carefully carried along a sandalwood path adorned with tea to an oud temple by the dark, fruity interplay of roses and blackberries. The fragrance remains there for countless hours.

What makes Private Blend so special for me, however, is not this harmonious interplay of individual fragrance notes, but the almost unbelievable, all-consuming steam sauna of sillage.
For the first few hours after spraying it on, Private Blend saturates the surrounding air to such an extent that a spoon could get stuck in it. And with the most heavenly, creamy musk, the smell of which still gives me goosebumps - Private Blend smells like an embrace, like the skin of a lover.

All in all, this fragrance took me on two journeys through time, one to Brazil and the other three years back to the beginning of my search for "THE" fragrance.

The feeling of an expansion of consciousness has repeated itself as with my first "understanding" of Artisan fragrances, but now it no longer opens up a completely new world of artists and fragrances for me.

I have the feeling that I have reached the end of my journey.

End of the line, everybody off.
